I wonder if she does that thing of labelling each outfit with the occasions it has been worn. And has a target usage wears v cost = value

MoreHippoThanPenguin · 22/05/2020 08:56

The thought of six months with Anne GrinGrinGrin.

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 22/05/2020 09:04

I don’t think Meghan would have paid the slightest bit of attention to Anne tbh.

Jackie O & MM - not in the same league imo.

SunbathingDragon · 22/05/2020 09:12

I agree they wouldn’t (force custody) but maybe it would be used to say they have to agree an amicable joint custody arrangement between them or else she (or Charles) will intervene and take control

Thing is, if issuing ultimatums you have to make sure they can stick; whether it would or not I've no idea, but I imagine Meghan's lawyers will have a view

Having thought about this, I’m sure that (despite the parents being divorced) year after year the Queen has been with her grandchildren at important events (eg Christmas time etc) and I wonder whether she has enforced this. Diana and Fergie definitely said at one time that they missed seeing their children at Christmas and it seems odd that they didn’t do alternate years. I would say that at very worst, it at least guarantees her children joint custody.

Also, I don’t believe you can take the Queen to court so I’m not sure what grounds Meghan’s lawyers would have anything to say (although undoubtably they would try as they would want the money).

Of course, it’s possible that H&M will remain happily married. If so, and they continue to refrain from returning to England, perhaps when Charles is monarch he will use the law to enforce time whey Archie. 🤷🏻‍♀️

MoreHippoThanPenguin · 22/05/2020 09:13

I think MM would pay a lot of attention CanIHave....

We have a Californian mum in my DS class. She is very sweet, but completely overwhelming. It is all about feelings, hugs, love, it is beyond intense. I am more reserved, Scandinavian style and I can only take her in small doses.

This lady gets awfully offended if she feels that the love isn’t reciprocal or that you aren’t sufficiently enthusiastic about things. I imagine MM a bit like her.

Anne in a bit of a grumpy mood, just want a cup of tea and get on with it. MM wanting to talk about how wonderful It is to be there, what a difference they will make and does Anne have any amazing stories to share?

Anne grunts, says “lets get on with it”
MM on the phone to H “Oh my god, she hates me”.

Winterlife · 22/05/2020 09:16

I do hope H&M remain happily married, but there's a lot going against that - both are children of divorce, and they have the pressure of being in the public eye. OTOH, they don't have money issues. I suppose much will depend on their definition of "thriving".

iVampire · 22/05/2020 09:20

Heh. 6 months with Anne

I may have misremembered, but wasn’t Princrss Anne quoted as saying something about The Duchess along the lines of ‘she has a great deal to say on a great many subjects’ ?

ArchePenguin · 22/05/2020 09:24

Meghan won’t be happy when she reads this.

caperberries · 22/05/2020 10:31

Why would she be unhappy about it, ArchePenguin?
Surely it's got nothing to do with her
Confused

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 22/05/2020 10:40

That's the point caperberries

7Worfs · 22/05/2020 10:41

caper probably something along the lines of the Cambridges working with world renowned humanitarians, as opposed to sitting around and calling themselves humanitarians on their CVs.

7Worfs · 22/05/2020 10:41

Lol yolo excellent Grin

Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/05/2020 10:45

perhaps when Charles is monarch he will use the law to enforce time with Archie

Some interesting points there, SunbathingDragon, but I'm not sure about this one
It's widely said that Camilla sees her own grandkids at Raymill, since in the more relaxed atmosphere there's no worry about them annoying Charles and getting sticky fingers on the priceless antiques, so I wonder just how great his appetite to have Archie around would be

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 22/05/2020 10:51

7 Grin

SunbathingDragon · 22/05/2020 10:52

That’s true Puzzled although I wonder whether H&M might find in the future that returning for certain events (and walking to church on Christmas Day on the Sandringham Estate would probably be included in this) will be how they can continue to stay in the public eye, get across their royal credentials whilst not being royal, and also get some positive media comments.

7Worfs · 22/05/2020 10:54

I don’t see them coming back for at least a few Christmases. It would be excruciatingly awkward, 100x their last engagement.

CallmeAngelina · 22/05/2020 10:57

I really don't see them returning any time soon - and not just down to Covid-19.

bluebell34567 · 22/05/2020 11:08

i dont see them returning either.

HermanHermit · 22/05/2020 11:12

Shame Bea’s wedding has been cancelled/ postponed- that was going to be highly revealing. Aitch was previously such close friends with her, and megz has shown she has zero issue with leaving the baby for tennis matches and banker parties that pay; I still didn’t think she would come but assumed he’d pitch up solo

Jillyhilly · 22/05/2020 11:17

My SIL is from CA. Exactly the same. Plus, has to charm and shine and sparkle in every. single. conversation. It gets old. She reminds me very much of Megs.

WindsorBlues · 22/05/2020 11:20

Im another one who doesn't think Meghan will ever come back. I thought it as soon as she jumped on the next flight out to Canada after dropping the Megixt bombshell I thought it was selfish of her to leave Harry to deal with the fall out all on his own.

7Worfs · 22/05/2020 11:26

That last day must have been filled with Hollywood drama.

Megs doing an engagement without her rings and wearing a coat needlessly so she can hold it in place as a cape and the ring finger papped.

Probably throwing a great performance at Harry how she’d tried and tried, but can’t continue like this anymore. Jumping on a plane and saying he could follow if he wants to.

thats an interesting act. woow look at me.

Yes, and what the hell was that all about?
In the circumstances a bit of being seen to stand should to shoulder might have been nice, but instead the signal was "I can't wait to wipe the dust of this place off my feet"

Not a good look ...

catinb0oots · 22/05/2020 12:45

Which engagement was that @7worfs?
