Even H&M were basically kicked out, they didn’t want to leave (they just wanted to profit).

Seems odd they have contributed towards a book about finding freedom from the RF and put out a statement earlier this year about it then. What they wanted was to be able to attend the well televised moments to keep them in the public eye whilst having the freedom and tax payers money to do whatever they enter the rest of the time.

True that William seems to loathe what he does, but as I say, he could always leave and never does. No lack of spares in the BRF and Andrew’s daughters would be just as mediocre.

Kate certainly had the time to gain an understanding of what was involved and took it on. Good for her - as we know, Harry struggled to find someone prepared to be his wife, due to 'expectations'.

I would say there is a serious lack of 'spares' at the moment - several older members of the team are well over retirement age, the only active members of 'normal' working age are Edward and Sophie and William and Kate.

Staff might provide the information, you still have to learn and understand it. If I was having videos/photos taken I wouldn't come to my desk (covered in shit!), but would find somewhere that look tidy and worklike. Don't blame anyone for that.

I am "Tightsgate". I still think the Tatler article is a load of guff. What is reveals mostly is how very loyal the people are around Catherine and what a tight ship she and W must run with the help of (as someone said upthread) what seems to be a very professional PR staff that they listen to. The general impression given by the article is Tatler's irritation at how "boring" Catherine is. In other words, people are not willing to be disloyal and the journalists have been unsuccessful at finding any meaningful dirt or gossip.

Blowing up an incident like the kids wearing tights shows how they have absolutely nothing to criticize her for. There's also the bitchy snidiness toward Carole which always comes over as upper class women incandescent with rage that she produced our future Queen and leapfrogged them. The Middletons provide a truly unique and rare story by being a functional, loving family offering a discreet haven for William at all times.

I do think Catherine has learnt what it takes to survive within the RF and she is blessed to have a strong family support system that will protect her from a ravenous media. Meghan unfortunately didn't have that. Having a close loving family is one thing money can't buy and is Catherine's not so secret weapon.

Such a pity they don’t have a secluded well protected property where no drones etc would be allowed ............

I can really imagine Harry not appreciating the level of security he did actually have at all times. Also apparently the British royal protection police have been replaced by a LA private firm. I am sure they are very good at what they do, but they are still not a force who only exist to protect the British Royal Family.

OK so would you rather the notepad be filled with confidential information so you could gurn about a breach of GDPR or maybe a complete agenda of his daily tasks so you can personally assess whether or not he has a reason to look irritated based on his workload?

By 1 June the Express reckons it will either be taken down or that there will be a further announcement from M&H’s office about what’s happening with their online presence, because ‘spring’ will have passed.

It must rankle that W and K have to ‘work’ for their privilege and their children’s privacy is compromised, whilst H and M can lounge around in free villas with no requirements that they earn their keep in any way. It’s really unfair.

Maybe now they will realise that all the ‘press attention’ in the U.K. while they were still sheltered under the royal umbrella and all the gentleman’s agreements about what to cover and what not to was nothing compared to the free for all in the US! They don’t have the clout to dictate what the us press does or doesn’t report on.

But the free villas and private jets will soon fade away. H&M need to start earning the 100’s of millions needed to keep up with that lifestyle. The rich and famous don’t take kindly to free loaders if they don’t start reciprocating! At least w&K future jobs and housing and income is fairly secure.

We’ll see. I have a feeling that PC will continue to fund them and they will rent a huge house in LA which he will pay for. All notions of having to do any real work will disappear. M might earn some money with a clothes line or an online blog like Tiger. Then we won’t hear much about them. M will hate obscurity and H will Potter about amusing himself as best he can.

You do realise that when photoshoots are set up, items of furnishing or ornaments are carefully placed to set the scene? They are called props. Here you are some explanation from google for you.

Take this photo that Diana and Charles used for a Christmas card one year. Carefully staged with a picnic hamper. I'm old enough to remember the hilarity in the newspapers when the picture was released. Headlines such as "Who forgot the sandwiches".

When you look at this photo do you conclude
1: Diana didn't know how to make sandwiches so the hamper was empty.

1. The boys ate all the sandwiches before the photographer arrived.
2. Diana hid the sandwiches so that they wouldn't need to share them with the photographer.
3. The real work happens in the kitchen and they sit around all day waiting for the butler to bring the sandwiches.

The DM is reporting that Tyler Perry’s own Security Team is protecting H and M and that Charles is not paying .

Everything I hear about W&C is that they are well prepared and fully engaged in the tours and events they undertake. That does take work and concentration. Tbh I have read the same about H&M. If they weren't I'm sure we'd hear about it.

I saw an interview with Lord Snowdon who took the picture, he said it was his idea and all his fault it was so fake. Diana didn't even ride but obediently went and bought some jodhpurs (and don't they look fantastic!) when he told her to.

I suspect that if there is ever a pang of jealousy, it’s towards Pippa and her lifestyle, not Megz. Pippa sat tight and married pots of money that’s actually available to spend rather than tied up in royal trusts, with the astonishing added bonus of an ultra luxury Caribbean family pile / hotel thrown in. And the Scots estate that employs brother Middleton. Pippa can entertain and not work at all and can wear what she likes however expensive and there’s no come back, because none of it is on the public dime. She has privacy to a large degree, and the same supportive / loving family. I’ll bet she gets a lot of perks and invitations and gifts sent to her (that she is allowed to accept) because of who her sister is, but she’s still ultra discreet.
(Actually I think the Middleton siblings have probably accepted a back seat to an extent Career wise so that they don’t do anything potentially embarrassing to their sister. And her own brother has also had significant mental health issues)

I really think it's way too early to write H & M off. There did garner a huge instagram following and anything Meg wore was selling out asap. They seem to appeal to a probably younger demographic then MNers. Also in America the younger generations, the Millennials (1981-1996) so 39-24 and the Y generation (1997-2012) which is 23-8 are much larger in number and more diverse than older generations of Americans. The Y Gens probably know very little at all about Diana and the RF in general, Diana died before they were born, for example. So with clever marketing M & H might still be able to be very successful at reaching a younger crowd and defining who they are to them.

I have 3 American teens. They haven't got a clue about any of the RF and in fact I don't think they care or have an opinion of any kind. They are totally uninterested in the Sussex Saga. So they are a clean slate that M & H could reach. MM is much more savvy when it comes to social media then the RF. A test will be when they start up a new Instagram post-RF. Can they generate interest? If they can, then they can get a lot of work as influencers on a global scale. I am only referring to US kids, imagine their worldwide scope. I think don't underestimate what they could become. They still have worldwide recognition.
