A continuation for those who would like to look at the positive side of Harry and Meghan.

I did not say it was banter BTW. Point the post out and I will take it back.

Roussette · 15/05/2020 20:08

I can only presume you've been on the Wine. So I'll let it go. I have said endlessly that what H said was wrong. Ignore that if you want because it will fit your agenda.

Cerseirys · 15/05/2020 20:10

Harry has been an idiot in the past and really had the very best education so little in the way of excuses. I am sure he regrets it now but it is sad that someone with such an education expressed such views.

I think it's precisely the sort of education he had that made him think it was ok to do as he did. The sort of entitlement and privilege that you see from the sort who become members of the Bullingdon Club etc.

Having said that, I do think he's genuinely changed his views since and not just because of Meghan but because of the work he'd started doing with Sentebale, before he even met her.

chrisseldah1 · 15/05/2020 20:11

I really admire M Obama of the way she handled the open racism and bullying she was subjected to. I haven’t watched becoming on Netflix but it’s in my bucket list .

Harry was stupid and extremely ignorant with his past deeds. It’s one of those things that I think will follow him for a long time yet. He has a son with a biracial woman now, So I would hope he has grown and deeply regrets his past. It would be interesting to know what kind of discussions H & M have had with regards to race issues, his past and how it may or not impact Archie in future. Here is hoping it’s covered in the upcoming book🙃

I’m tea total, but keep telling yourself stories.

Roussette · 15/05/2020 20:19

Arrietty I am not the sort of person who wants to fall out with anyone. Yes, you are correct, I did not call it banter. I talked about my experience of dark humour in response to a post. And I really do object to being called a racist or an octagenarian shropshire hermit. I may be old but not that old. Shropshire - never been there
OK I'll do a Grin for that with gritted teeth.

Seriously, if you can't cope with my 'guff' in response to your racist accusation, you are not the person I thought you were. Lay in to M&H all you like but I will defend my convoluted family fiercely and endlessly, and it's a poor score pointing exercise in response to my DDs lovely partner.

Samcro · 15/05/2020 20:23

It was me that called it banter.

I have again reported the PAer
@ Roussette they are goading you now.

MrsJoshNavidi · 15/05/2020 20:37

Mrscampbellbkack. I know a Mr Campbell-Black. It's not a very common surname.
I realise know you wouldn't use your real name on MN (Duh!), but for a short minute just wondered whether you might be married to the guy in know.

I’m sorry if you truly don’t see the offence in what you’ve said @Roussette. I’m just really struggling to see how it is inadvertent. Honestly I am. Rustic living was about the most benign alternative reason I could think of.

I still don’t know what to make of your motivation, but I don’t want to argue.

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 15/05/2020 21:24

Wow... happy times then?!

MrsCB I thought it was a bloody odd question too but RL got in the way before I could post.

I'd love to be happy for HaM but unfortunately, I think they've publicly fucked up big time, and are probably not particularly happy themselves.

Mummy195 · 15/05/2020 21:26

Hahaha, more DM shenanigans

Though I am not too sure why the boy had to wear a grey jumper instead of black/ navy.

I hope they are happy, but I imagine H must get a bit homesick. Its one thing to go somewhere for a holiday, but living there is a whole different thing.
I imagine that it takes a while to settle. Add in covid and that would make it worse.

You have me labelled as something. Fine. Your choice. This says more about you than it does me. I have endlessly said on and on how I think that what H said was wrong but you are determined to label me as a rural living racist. Hope it pleases you and you gain something from it.

iVampire · 15/05/2020 22:27

The Paki comment was less than 10 years ago. Hardly a youthful mistake - he was pushing 30

chrisseldah1 · 15/05/2020 22:42

I hope Harry will eventually settle in the US, but I think there is always going to be a part of him that misses home. Meghan moved to the U.K. and it must have been hard for her settling in with no friends and her mum nearby. So I believe that H will be just fine and was not coerced to leave.

chrisseldah1 · 15/05/2020 22:44

@Mummy195 those articles are funny, reminds me when a newspaper ( forgot which one it was) cropped out a black environmental activist who was in a photo with Greta .

Mummy195 · 15/05/2020 23:00

Harry last saw his UK family in March, hardly a long time, but we are bombarded with reports of him missing his family (he is with his family). I don't buy this H is some kind of country bumpkin who won't fit in LA either, he has been going there for years. He has travelled more than most ppl. He does not strike me as that tethered to the turnips as everyone else seems to be. His long time gf was foreign.

And the angle of he is miserable because he and M are complete teetotal and vegan, so now he is miserably missing his weekend benders does not convince me either. MM filled her website with beer champagne, etc. adverts. They also do eat meat as they told us with the proposal over roast chicken. The Tig was even named after her favourate wine was it not?

Everyone who moves will miss a few things like Fish &chips etc. but I don't think would be miserable. How much of his UK family was he going to see with lockdown anyway? Just how homesick were Eugenie and Frederick residing in NY?

I agree that H is with his family. His wife that he married and loves and his son. I don’t get why some in the media run with this narrative that somehow he is miserable. Why should there be sympathy for a man who chose to relocate with his wife and son? . Meghan did it before and this time Harry chose to.

BarcelonaFreddie · 16/05/2020 03:15

Daily Star - so I have my misgivings as to the accuracy / integrity of this link; but still.
Breaking lockdown? Not cool really if it's true.

Cerseirys · 16/05/2020 06:28

The way that article is written 🤦🏻‍♀️ Slammed for "making" Harry break lockdown. As if he isn't a grown man who can make his own decisions!

Samcro · 16/05/2020 08:12

the day i believe something in the daily star is the day I give up reading.

chrisseldah1 · 16/05/2020 08:38

Amazing isn’t it? It’s always M’s fault😂. Everything gets dissected & used to criticise her.
