A continuation for those who would like to look at the positive side of Harry and Meghan.

Perhaps Harry is delighted to be away from his family? There are lots of adults who would absolutely love to put an ocean and a continent between themselves and their family. Imagine living the life he has and then suddenly getting the chance to leave. He probably jumped at it.

All the stuff about veganism and not drinking is so random too. Yet another ridiculous dig at MM.

As for the article?? Well, it's a perfect example of the nonsense that's written about the couple. Harry as the helpless victim and Meghan leading him astray. It's so obvious it's almost laughable.

Samcro · 16/05/2020 09:44

it really is so sexist. blame the woman stuff.

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 16/05/2020 10:01

Well if anyone feels like being inspired, can I recommend Becoming? I know I posted about it last night but I bloody love Michelle Obama.

Cerseirys · 16/05/2020 10:02

How does anyone know what they eat and drink? Given that Meghan named her blog after her favourite wine, I don't find it believable that she's teetotal!

Cerseirys · 16/05/2020 10:05

I haven't seen it yet @SetPhasersTaeMalkie but I've read her book and enjoyed it. What struck me was that given her accomplishments, it could've just as easily have been her who decided to go into politics.

(Just to be clear: I am in no way comparing Meghan to Michelle Obama!)

derxa · 16/05/2020 10:12

(Just to be clear: I am in no way comparing Meghan to Michelle Obama!) Thank god for that!

@Mummy195
I am very late to this thread but have been reading with interest because I do like both Harry and Meghan. I knew who Meghan was because I am "Suits" fan.
Anyway, the reason for posting is that I have just started reading "Prince Harry - The Inside Story"(I read biographies mainly sports and RF) and the first chapter mentions in detail how the Nazi Uniform Story came to the Press.
I don't think I am allowed to use direct quotes from the book but here's a short synopsis for anyone whose interested
A news editor at the 'Sun' got a call from one of his long time contacts who knew the Princes very well and obviously moved in the same close circle.
He asked the news editor if he would be interested in a picture of Prince William at a fancy dress party.
So they arrange to meet and the pics show PW in a gorilla suit but you cannot see his face so they can't prove it's him.

Then his source says would a pic of PH be any good and that's how the picture got out.
This source who was well connected to both the Princes got paid for photos and info regularly to help pay his way through college.(similar quote from book).
Even though PH made a mistake in his choice of fancy dress outfit...
my point being that they could not even trust their circle of friends not to sell them out to the papers because there was substantial amounts of money to be made. Some people will do anything for money.
I wonder if PH and PW ever found out who the "Sun" source was...I hope they did and they got their POs' to scare the shit out of him...maybe put a bag over his head and drive into the middle of nowhere and leave him to find his way home in nothing but his underpants! Grin

Samcro · 16/05/2020 11:40

he was 20 when he did that.
so 15 years ago(yes I googled and checked) so its really old news.
surely its time to move on.

MsPepperPotts · 16/05/2020 11:52

@Samcro WTF...
I know how old this news is but you need to RTFT and my post
My post was in response to @Mummy195 post from last night.
I will definitely move on and off this thread

Samcro · 16/05/2020 12:10

@MsPepperPotts apologies that wasn't directed at you.
it was just that yesterday it seemed to take over the thread.

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 16/05/2020 12:24

Cerseirys I think you'd really enjoy it. I agree that it's a huge pity. When she speaks she is so powerful. I remember when she visited a girls school in London her speech was inspiring.

I am not ashamed to say I'm a bit in love with her 😂

Roussette · 16/05/2020 12:51

Set I love her too! So inspiring. And what a fantastic First Lady compared to the one now

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 16/05/2020 15:20

Absolutely. But I don't suppose we should get started about the Trumps.😉😂

I think something else that stood out in the documentary was when Michelle Obama said she's realised that the mere presence of their family in the White House was a provocation to some.

A very sad, but ultimately realistic comment on race. And which the Trump presidency confirms.

So many people unable to accept a powerful and successful black family.

Roussette · 16/05/2020 17:19

A new Royal baby, not sure how Royal though... a Mountbatten, born at the end of March.
I perused the article, and included in it was this... interesting to look at when you can't work out who is related to who!

Cerseirys · 16/05/2020 17:57

Whose baby is it @Roussette?

Roussette · 16/05/2020 18:15

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 16/05/2020 18:32

Same baby?

A Mountbatten not a Windsor Mountbatten if I've got the right one.

Roussette · 16/05/2020 18:46

Yes, same one Smile

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 16/05/2020 18:48

Roussette · 16/05/2020 18:56

Yes, stunning dress, I love that structured look

Samcro · 16/05/2020 22:36
