A continuation for those who would like to look at the positive side of Harry and Meghan.

ahh well. if she is speaking that is good.

CallmeAngelina · 11/07/2020 13:06

@Samcro

they all look so happy.
Yes. Who would have thought that they (H&M) weren't, in fact, happy at all and Charles and Camilla would later be included in the accusations of not welcoming Meghan to the family. Strange, it must have been someone else who walked her down the aisle, beaming with pleasure, pride and love.
Roussette · 11/07/2020 13:40

I think this is a very interesting article.

Nishky · 11/07/2020 15:32

I haven’t finished reading the article but my teeth are itching at ‘less articles’ instead of fewer

CallmeAngelina · 11/07/2020 15:33

Yep, me too!! Grin

Tells us a little of the quality of the "journalism."

Nishky · 11/07/2020 15:36

@CallmeAngelina glad it’s not just me.....

Nishky · 11/07/2020 15:39

I love this

Well.... you are on the positive thread about M&H so you might well not like a link on here. However, I think there is an element of truth in it.

Nishky · 11/07/2020 15:46

@Roussette was that aimed at me? Bit of an assumption there.

Roussette · 11/07/2020 15:50

Assumption of what? That you might not like the article? Yes, I suppose so, if the only comment was it made your teeth itch and agreeing with someone about the 'quality' of the journalism.
As opposed to what was actually said in the article.
Maybe so, maybe so.

Happy to be corrected of course.

Nishky · 11/07/2020 15:52

I was actually saying that I am glad I am not the only one who is a pedant tbh

Nishky · 11/07/2020 15:53

I did actually finish reading the article and thought it was interesting

Roussette · 11/07/2020 15:53

Ok. Sorry. I apologise. I read the post wrong.
Smile

Roussette · 11/07/2020 15:54

Yes, it was interesting wasn't it

Nishky · 11/07/2020 15:59

It was, I was a little shocked that there was no consultation about how to respond to the press, if I have read it correctly it seems that the responses to the press were made by staff with absolutely no consultation

However I do understand the response to the article about Kate- the suggestion that she is upset at higher workload makes her seem work shy and also fuels this whole issue of Meghan v Kate- ie that Kate was stressed and it was Meghan’s fault. I can understand that the palace wants to shut that down

The thing I find distasteful is that those who support Meghan making awful comments about Kate- mainly on Twitter. The idea that you can only support one woman by attacking another is just odd

Samcro · 11/07/2020 16:06

I don't do twitter so have not seen that.
I think the media like to compare them.
I love reading heat and mags like that. Just for fun. And they always seem to pit them against each other.
I doubt they are freinds, but any problems are most likely between the brothers not the wives, imo.

Roussette · 11/07/2020 16:09

Totally agree. It honestly does not help the whole debacle to pit one woman against another.

I do find it awful though that the Palace can put out a supportive statement for Andrew, and yet nothing for Meghan.

FWIW I think Kate is absolutely perfect for her role. Couldn't be better. I do wonder if she ever thinks to herself 'I wonder what normal life would've been like' because as the years pass, she would honestly forget what 'normal' was.

Serenster · 12/07/2020 08:41

What might be more interesting is a comparison of how many press stories about each of the royals the press office did come and out deny over the same period. I read somewhere recently - can't remember where though, possibly the Times? - that the palace's press offices came out to officially deny eight stories while Meghan was a full-time Royal. Presumably those were ones that they thought were serious enough o warrant a response. The article mentioned the "Kate The Great" Tatler article being one they formally responded to on behalf of Kate, but doesn't mention any others.

Mummy195 · 12/07/2020 14:49

Keynote speaker is what the Girl Up re- tweeted themselves, without correction. I also head the same from an royal correspondent online. Wether that is what they did with a press release or it's a mistake I have no idea or reason to question it.

Heavy hitters on that list for sure with the likes of Sharyl S, Hillary C, Pumzile LN, etc.

I think there might be a fair few virtual reunions.

Interesting article @Roussette

I think this lies at the crux of MM smear campaign. How do the Palace find it more important to give out statements regarding botox, hair extensions etc. but are fine with lies about staff member relations etc. is beyond me. I even recall KM even had some kind of hotline dedicated to her from the palace to deal with everything.

If at the beginning the Palace was not aware that a black woman will be treated differently, they should have learnt later, there was plenty of evidence and time. This shows that they are either behind this or are extremely incompetent. See the testimony given by different black women with how they are portrayed , during the BLM this came out, listening to Misha B, Alexandra B etc.

They did not have to go so far as BLM, nor that obvious Buzzfeed article of comparisons. It should have been the job of the PR team to look at the press releases and comparisons long ago.

Ppl will stop comparing the two women, when one is not singled out as doing wrong, when they are both doing the same thing. Simples.

I am quite interested in knowing exactly what was all this bad publicity Sophie W had, aside from the fake sheik thing. And as for her stopping her private business, I recall her not paying the 1.7M dept on the firm.

Perhaps percentages would work better in that scenario.

You cannot, for example have KM with say 200 negative articles since she joined, and say 20 statements were given.

Then have MM with 2000 negative articles and give 20 statements and call that even.

It is also not the same to have PA with 20 negative articles and put out a statement on 5 of them.

That maths does not add up.

If the article about W concerns and hotline is true, then he was correct and the Palace has to adjust according to the circumstances. Not clear why they did not in this case.

Gosh those two headlines just a day or so apart. Shock

I think Harry did a brilliant job with Invictus and hope it can go ahead next year. I bet he does too.

As for the Australian video, sums it up doesn't it? Ouch ouch.
