Barley of course humans assimilate information by discussing it.

However, I am talking about unfounded rumours (MM smacking PC) which then gets an 'oooh' and an 'ahhhh' and is talked about on a forum. Next minute someone decides to look in on that thread, takes it as fact, passes it on elsewhere on SM and so on
That is not working out if someone is a friend or a foe. That is spreading a malicious rumour.
You obviously have your opinions about MM, others feel differently.

It reminds me of the days before SM in a small town or village, tittle tattle and besmirching someone. Then that person cannot lose that reputation which is all iinnuendo and rumour and has to leave the area.

thisenglishlife · 24/05/2020 15:26

It all boils down to Meghan (a half back divorced American actress) being in this white, British, traditional, upper class space - a place she 'should never have been in'. (I don't share this view).

All of the married in women are targets for the media, but Meghan was seen as more expendable for the above reasons. The fact that Harry chose her over the them infuriates the courtiers and right wing.

Samcro · 25/05/2020 17:29

Who killed the thread.
Maybe we need go start just making stuff up

Invictus Games: The past few months we have made a series of stories with all the participating nations. From all 20 participating nations, we have (digitally) interviewed a team captain, staff member or competitor. These stories give us an unique look behind the scenes, show us what the Games mean for them and how they prepare themselves for the Invictus Games.

Read the stories here: invictusgames2020.com/en/invictus-games-stories/

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 26/05/2020 21:45

Great about Invictus news, that's a brilliant campaign. I wonder how much input Harry actually had?

Roussette · 27/05/2020 07:09

Why wouldn't he? It's his baby

Cerseirys · 27/05/2020 10:02

I'm usually a bit dubious about royal involvement in charities but in Harry's case, I think Invictus and Sentebale are genuine labours of love. No, he probably doesn't do the day-to-day, nitty-gritty work but I've worked for several charities and that's pretty much the case for most CEOs or board chairs.

Roussette · 27/05/2020 10:44

Exactly Cerseirys that's my experience too.

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 27/05/2020 11:44

It's his baby - Archie? I should bloody well hope so Grin

Prince Harry has written a letter to a charity supported by Princess Diana:

The Duke of Sussex saw the work of the Halo Trust in 2019: Harry retraced his mother's steps during the royal tour

The Duke of Sussex has praised the work of a charity, once supported by his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, during the coronavirus crisis. Prince Harry wrote a letter to staff working for the Halo Trust, thanking them for continuing to remove landmines despite the outbreak of the virus and providing COVID-19 support to locals in countries such as Afghanistan, Somalia and Libya.

The father-of-one wrote: "In these trying times, hope comes from the light of our common humanity. Nowhere is that light burning brighter than at the Halo Trust. As countries closed their borders, lockdowns came into force and international travel became harder, many might have chosen to suspend operations. Instead, Halo kept open a presence in all 25 of its country operations."

Harry made an emotional pilgrimage to Africa last September to retrace Diana's steps, who famously walked through a partially cleared Angolan minefield in 1997 to highlight the work of the Trust. The Duke walked down the former minefield in Huambo, which is now a bustling community. He also visited Dirico to see the charity's work first-hand, donning body armour and a face mask to inspect an area of bush being cleared of ordnance by Halo.

The Duke praised the Halo Trust's response to the pandemic, saying: "Halo might just have stuck to its core role, but I would also like to salute you for pivoting so quickly to meet the challenges unexpectedly presented by the pandemic."

The charity has 8,500 staff in 25 countries and territories and has been providing ambulances, logistics and PPE to medical authorities in Zimbabwe, Somalia, Libya, Afghanistan and Guinea-Bissau.

Harry added: "The fact that you can operate across conflict affected countries like Afghanistan is also a precious resource in the face of a disease that recognises no frontlines.

"It is at times like this that the work and efforts of people like you - prepared to do whatever it takes to help, serve and protect others - shines through. In sometimes hazardous and dangerous situations, your commitment to your communities and people who need your help is remarkable. I am hugely proud to be able to support such an extraordinary
organisation."

James Cowan, Halo's CEO said: "It is very thoughtful of the Duke to write to HALO staff in this way. Not many people realise we do more than landmine clearance. In responding to Covid we have the skills and equipment to respond. And above all we can operate in some very dangerous places with the trust of the local people."

Previouly thanked for their 2019 effort (they did it again this year) by Harry and Meghan on the Sussex Royal Instagram account: "Huge thanks to the amazing group of people who have launched the grassroots Sussex Great Forest initiative. What a special surprise! The aim of this project is to plant 10,000 trees around the world by donating globally and planting locally. We are so inspired! Thank you!"

English
It's great to see that these charities are still ongoing.
Looking at that HALO video, it's so funny to see H walking with the same gait as Diana.

And that Archie's Wood looks large esp. when they pan the camera.

've worked for several charities and that's pretty much the case for most CEOs or board chairs.

I was thinking just that. A lot of ppl would like to undermine the couple, and only look with their limited view of just being in the limelight selling mech, being on TV all the time, etc. it just never occurs to some ppl that they could be asked to sit in several boards, especially because they did some big scale projects - transferrable skills and all that. What is clear is that the couple are always trying to find solutions. So infact, they could well have a lot of offers now, and it's a matter of investigating who to choose who meets their ethics.

Obviously, they are not sitting at home sunning doing nothing - no one knew about TP, KMcfee H connection, how did Jennifer G get in touch etc. My thoughts are that their rep's inbox and phone calls must be overflowing with offers.

In all likelihood, they will be doing that advising work on boards, show up for the environmental, charity causes etc.

She's a mixed race, American divorcee who was permitted to marry a prince. The price was her mental health due to targeted character assassination. It shouldn't have been a problem and she now owes us for drawing a line, particularly around her son.

I'm afraid far too many ppl think like this than there ought to be. But I wonder if H was actually permitted to marry her, or he put his foot down. He seems like the type who would defy the courtiers. Maybe the smear was made to show him that we told you so, and bend his will a bit. What they didn't count on, was him choosing her over everything.

So far it seems everyone else does as they are told. Charles did with Diana, but since that blew up in his and everyone's face, he seems to have made a decision to do as he wants (eventually marrying C). PE & Sophie climed down on their careers.
W seems to do exactly as he is told, maybe that is why he is constantly being promoted as the next study king.
Not too clear why PA is protected so much.

He's a man, a blood royal, the QEII's favourite and he went along with the divorce that the BRF wanted (but that he didn't)

Samcro · 28/05/2020 14:32

and H&M were thrown under the bus to distract us.

Mummy195 · 28/05/2020 16:56

I meant as the next sturdy king. ie. a reliable ol William. Spell check.

I have noticed that every now and again there are some shady old rehashed stories of PC from over 30yrs ago. Last week it was about him seeing H for the first time, then some dodgy poll saying ppl prefer W to move straight to being a king etc. These kind of stories come up now and again.

The latest stunt backfired however. Catherine the Great doing CEO work has had such bad feedback from SM. It was supposed to be a fluff piece, as always to put M down, and big up K. How exhausted K was, angry to do more work etc.

  • I believe this story was approved by KP, because the editor of Tatler is a friend of K who has always smeared MM.
  • They thought the story was going to smear MM as usual, and just did not expect the backlash.
  • The only times that KP ever puts out a statement is when W was accused of bullying H. And this is the only time K has put out a statement. They have never put out a statement of back off from my brother, but rather basked in the glory of being pulled up, while H&M were being pulled down. Even if you argue that they agree with the tabloids, they should have said something about the £20m security lie. at the very least. But we know there are more lies.
  • What happened to ' don't complain, don't explain'
  • The editor friend at Titler remains by the article. awks. But I guess that is nothing that can't be solve by a quick dinner meeting by K - though it must not happen again.
  • Richard Kay tried to justify the tights story.

Well, I believe that PA and F would have been happy with an open marriage as normal among the Torfs, but being in the public eye, of mostly conservative supporters, it was hard to just leave things as they were.

He is being protected by rebukes on the Omid S book on the Sussexes, when he had a scathing biography coming out on himself. I don't usually link to the DM, but I will in this case, because this particular article is written by the author of the book himself. I believe it was buried somewhere in the ethers of DM. I believe the DM at this point decided to mainly run with a story about how the RF is dismissing OS biography .

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8324925/The-making-Prince-Andrew.html

Please read through it, as it's very interesting. It's a long article that covers a lot of his horrid behaviour.

Also, recently Netflix released the Epstein documentary on Epstein. Very disturbing as you would imagine. About 4 episodes. End of episode 2 is alarming about the harassment a person can get from these rich high profile ppl, beginning of ep3 goes on about the cover ups at a high level, then ep4 also talks about PA involvement.
