Hasn't Prince Harry learnt anything from his mother's experience of having someone write her biography 'to set the record straight'? Couldn't they have at least waited until after his grandmother's death, however long that might be?

Or an announcement that they're not going to make an announcement.

Meghan has recorded a video for one of her charities, Smart Works (well, she recorded it in late March) and they have just released it today. I'm sure they had a good reason to wait until April 29 to do so.

If they don't have any news, they will sure as hell be rooting around to find something they can use! It's just so predictable and petty.

It’s great Meghan is still supporting her patronages. But fgs she must think we are really really dense if she cannot see she’s timed this announcement to clash with yet another Royal event. She clearly sees them all as her adversaries and couldn’t be more obvious.

Meghan is trying to be Diana 2.0 but comes off so awkward and flat because she really doesn’t have the star quality she so desperately craves.

Very very few posses that elusive X factor that gives them an almost cult like charisma. Marilyn Monroe had it, Elvis had it, John Lennon - and Diana had it.

Meghan doesn’t have it. And she is making a bit of a desperate fool of herself.

Meghan could go away quietly and nobody would really notice or care.

Surely the women ringing the charity want practical, useful advice that will help them get a job. Not instagram sound bites from an unemployed actress? Telling someone to go and be a beacon of hope isn’t helping anyone!!

Never mind us; what interests me is what Harry thinks of the very obvious pattern that keeps repeating itself. Either he doesn't care, in which case he's an ignorant fool, or he won't act to stop it, which would make him even more of a patsy than I thought

It's all very well folk saying Meghan this and Meghan that, but he's the one schooled in the RF way of doing things - or even, I'd hope, just basic manners - and the whole mess is showing him up in the most appalling light

I just watched that video. Cringe. Her self promotion and the timing are just... I have no words.

'Friends' will be giving more titbits on Charlotte's birthday if there is nothing more substantial.

I bet there'll be 'rumours of a pregnancy' on Charlotte's birthday, if not an actual announcement.

Also, it seems the only real advice Meghan is qualified to give is on how to find and secure a man who can elevate your status.

I knew, I think most people knew, she'd pop up with something on the same day as their wedding anniversary! So predictable indeed and boring.

However they got a dose of their own medicine as their piece of 'non-news' was totally overshadowed by the birth of Boris & Carrie's baby today.

I wasn't a reader of Meghan's blog (the Tig) but why doesn't she start that up again? If it was successful before, surely that would be the most obvious place to start?

I'm half-expecting a pregnancy announcement on Charlotte's birthday, after the video release on the same day as the wedding anniversary. As puzzled said, Harry should really be stepping in at this point to stop the ill-timed announcements. But OTOH, he knows that the RF's motto is 'never complain, never explain' so they'll get away with it every time.
