Harry, has been taught better I'm sure
I think the events of the last few years have shown that he hasn't been taught much at all. It's actually astonishing how disastrous their media engagement is. They are pretty much destroying their own brand singlehandedly.
I get the impression that Harry has been shielded from the reality of the sheer amount of work it must take Buckingham and Kensington Palace to keep the image of the Monarchy on an even keel. I suspect his only experience of this in-house public relations system is when it has prevented him from doing something he wants to do, so his feelings towards it are possibly slightly stroppy.
The thing is that one of the key tools the Monarchy has with the press is the ability to use the threat of restricting access to major stories in order to prevent other stories from being printed. With this letter, Harry and Megan have thrown the tool out of the window.
I actually feel quite alarmed at how the situation is unfolding. The two of them are way in over their heads in a catastrophe caused by the culture clash between Megan's naive ideas of the US media and the actuality of the British press. Everything they do aggravates the problem, and I don't think it will stop until it's beyond dire, at which point there really will be no way back.
Again, I'm really astonished how little Harry seems to understand about his position. I can't imagine the child of any other other major commercial, industrial or political family misunderstanding their family's business to this extent. He seems wholly blind to what the Monarchy actually is.
