Is there something seriously wrong with him?

Kate's uncle ''colourful''. Ha, looking back on that now, what a storm in a teacup! what did he do? He put on a few pounds and was foolish enough to be photographed in an unflattering vest. He would not talk to the media though.

Viviennemary · 23/04/2020 00:03

I don't think Doriia is quite the quiet unassuming little mouse she might appear on the surface. Read quite a bit about her. Who knows if it's true or not.

LetTheCabbagesDie · 23/04/2020 00:06

How long did MM live with DR as a child and how long with TM?

lizzie1970a · 23/04/2020 00:07

Kate's uncle has no reason to talk to the media. He's rich and still a part of the family. When you leave people with nowhere else to go they can react badly, especially if they feel treatment hasn't been fair.

I think Kate's uncle did a bit more than put on a few pounds and wore an unflattering vest - neither of which I knew. None of it matters though, he's Kate's uncle and that's it.

You might be right about Doria but she's ideal in terms of the RF in that she just smiles and doesn't do anything controversial, but then again she isn't out in the cold, which isn't a nice place to be.

Mummyoflittledragon · 23/04/2020 00:10

Oh yes, her brother. I’d forgotten about the other people on her mums side.

I imagine the reason the RF didn’t manage the situation with the photos is because H&M didn’t let them. This puts me in mind of those now infamous words of Harry’s “what Meg wants, she gets”. I think perhaps he failed to ask the RF to intervene and if true, went rogue before the wedding even took place. She refused to take direction after the marriage and putting the pieces together also not before otherwise Harry and the rest of the RF would have been involved in inviting her side of the family. And putting a time line together, she fell out with kate just before the wedding, ie within a couple of days of this incident.

Taking a step back, with Meghan, I’m thinking Harry let her manage the whole darn shit show and shut down his family even before the wedding. Because she gets what she wants... no wonder the queen was super nice to her from the start. I bet everyone was trying to keep Meghan sweet.

Tezza1 · 23/04/2020 00:11

@HarryDaylight If MM really swore - and she actually meant it - at Lynn Cosgrove, that's dreadful. Whilst I have no brief for the role of Governor General, both Peter Cosgrove and his wife seem absolutely lovely.

Although, even if they were horrible, they don't deserve to be sworn at.

LetTheCabbagesDie · 23/04/2020 00:18

Does anyone know what is meant to have happened in Australia?

Mummyoflittledragon · 23/04/2020 00:19

Yes, I also don’t think Doria is the quiet mouse. I think she’s feisty as hell under it all. I expect she was told how to act by courtiers once she arrived in the U.K. And putting it into context, she knew she was the only one allowed to attend the wedding of her dd. She was going to be on her best behaviour, wasn’t she? She just witnessed how cruelly H&M just treated her exdh and man, who supposedly brought up Meghan from a preteen so Doria could do her own thing. It will be interesting to see how that one plays out...

This is the blind gossip item.

Justmuddlingalong · 23/04/2020 00:23

If the RF were given the impression that MM's family were loose cannons and she was all but no contact with all of them, except her mum, maybe that explains why Harry and the wider family didn't feel they could push for a pre-wedding, getting to know each other get together. And might also explain his "family she never had comment."

RosesandIris · 23/04/2020 00:23

I find it hard to believe the tea flinging incident or the swearing. However if it is true, it would suggest M has serious issues .

MissEliza · 23/04/2020 00:45

I really don't believe the tea flinging story.

miri1985 · 23/04/2020 01:10

What I don't understand is why they are trying to show how much they cared for TM but at the same time abruptly cut off all communication once they knew he wouldn't be coming even though he was still in hospital.

I don't understand what was the straw that broke the camels back?
Selling the photos to the tabloids was bad but given that it appears from the texts that they said they forgave him for that and still wanted him at the wedding etc. was it the lack of communication with them when he was ill? He didn't start talking about her again to the tabloids until June or so and was still being kind at that point, it wasn't until July he started being nasty about her.

I think TM and his daughter Samantha are toxic and if Meghan was my friend I would have said to go low or no contact but I don't understand what the texts are supposed to tell us. Are we supposed to think of them as super caring even though they completely cut off contact with him while he was still sick?

I just can't figure out the narrative

ToastedHaMSandwich · 23/04/2020 07:30

I can imagine TM would have felt very hurt hearing H say the RF were the family she’s never had.

BP PR also on record about this latest PR stunt saying H&M ignored them. So BP still trying to help. And H&M are paying Sunshine Sachs and still it’s a dire I’ll informed media fiasco they’re involved in.

Al1Langdownthecleghole · 23/04/2020 08:31

Unfortunately Meghan's brand of self-righteousness has brought out a streak in Harry that doesn't really help him. He should have been calmed down, not stoked up sad

I think this sums it up.

What also strikes me is how well Kate & her family compare. Particularly when you think about those awful doors to manual comments from William’s so called friends.

OVienna · 23/04/2020 08:46

That is true about the "family she's never had" comment. I had forgotten about that when I said what I did above. Terrible thing to have said in public. I don't think they've ever retracted that or said that wasn't what was meant.

Viviennemary · 23/04/2020 09:57

I think there is a lot about Meghan Markle's background she wanted to remain firmly in the past. That is why she cut contact with her family and none of them bar Doria was allowed at the wedding.

RosesandIris · 23/04/2020 10:05

*What I don't understand is why they are trying to show how much they cared for TM but at the same time abruptly cut off all communication once they knew he wouldn't be coming even though he was still in hospital.

I don't understand what was the straw that broke the camels back*

Very good point. I hadn’t thought of that.

stakeholderwizz · 23/04/2020 10:14

Could it be telling that a lot of her extended family haven't spoken out? They must have been offered lots of money to do so?

RosesandIris · 23/04/2020 10:28

Love the photos of Louis, particularly the one with Charles. No family to hug Archie when he turns one.

MrsJakeLovell · 23/04/2020 10:30

Is anyone else loving the photo that Clarence House have released of Louis with ‘Grandpa Wales’....you know, the family that doesn’t hug?! 😂

MrsJakeLovell · 23/04/2020 10:32

It looks so affectionate and genuine- real close bond
