Is there something seriously wrong with him?

I don’t believe for a second she didn’t know her ‘friends’ would talk.

NameChangeInfinite · 20/04/2020 23:12

Either Meghan is lying or she has 5 utter shits as friends who sold her out to the tabloids.

RosesandIris · 20/04/2020 23:17

I think they thought they were helping her..

Waterandlemonjuice · 20/04/2020 23:26

This is funny, much as I dislike Piers Morgan

Yes also the friends had seen that carefully written letter.

NameChangeInfinite · 20/04/2020 23:53

The whole thing is so painfully cringeworthy that it makes you question their sanity. They seem so woefully out of touch with reality that it is actually pitiful.

NameChangeInfinite · 21/04/2020 00:01

I think the thing that bothers me the most about Meghan she seemingly insists on portraying herself as an ingenue.

She is convincing, of this image, to a degree because of her youthful appearance and behaviour.

But if she really is as naive and innocent as she would like the world to believe, then she really has a lot of growing to do. Which as a middle aged woman approaching 40, seems unlikely if it hasn’t happened by now.

peppermintcapsules · 21/04/2020 00:54

That's about the some of it, Shlee.

caringcarer · 21/04/2020 01:40

H&M cant bare to be out of limelight, especially if another royal is getting attention. Prince William opened new Nightingale hospital in Birmingham so H felt 'compelled' to release comments to press. Duke of Edinburgh releases statement H&M again feel compelled to release statement on the same day, saying they won't work with Daily Mail, The Sun, The Mirror and The Express. Woopie who cares what they do or say. H&M want a quiet life with no press intrusion. That is why they leak information to press about where they will be. Or press just happened to be in exact place they were when they delivered a food parcel and their expensive security were no where to be seen. M will be in press now as she is talking Sunday Mail to court for printing letter she sent her Dad and text messages too. She got her friends to leak nasty things about her Dad and he gave letter and text to Sunday Mail to disprove lies her friends said about him. M is always posting about kindness yet shows none to her own Dad. I heard H is also taking a paper to court. It is just a way to grab headlined as they become more and more irelavent.

The whole thing is a mess. And it’s a continual constant mess. I do worry about their mental health and where this will eventually end. None of it is in the realms of normal behaviour.

Yes, I too have a bad feeling about all this. I think the situation, unless someone puts a stop to it, will deteriorate further and further until something truly horrendous happens.

What that will be, I don't know. But I suspect it will be a game changer.

The thing is that this era of "celebs" is coming to an end. It started back in the 90s with Heat magazine and it has run its course. People have just had enough, and it's become painfully obvious that a lot of these "celeb" people are broken people. So many of them suffer from severe mental health and addiction issues due to their lifestyle and obligations. Many have been financially, emotionally or sexually abused. Others are severely deluded about reality. And after the Coronavirus, who really wants to watch the car wreck of it all?

Personally, I think it is David and Wallis all over again. Only this time, I suspect they will divorce, but the damage done to the Royal Family won't really be fixable, no matter what William and Kate do.

And I say damage to the Royal Family because its now pretty clear that the institution of the British Monarchy does not prepare its members professionally (I'm talking about Harry here), hides a lot of uncomfortable truths for its own gain, indulges atrocious behaviour, and allows extraordinarily arrogant and obnoxious attitudes to survive without appropriate censure.

To use a banking metaphor, the Royal Family wants the public to believe it is a Coutts-style institution, when, in reality, it is far more like Lehman Brothers.

And we all know what happened to them.

StartupRepair · 21/04/2020 02:50

Yes, I am infuriated by his behaviour but do feel concern for Harry's mental health. He has lost friends, family, the respect and fellowship of the military and community support.
I don't understand the statement about not collaborating with the press any more. I thought their whole line was that they never did.

ArriettyJones · 21/04/2020 03:51

I remember having the same feeling about Diana, TBH.

Patsnpons · 21/04/2020 04:33

I also dont understand the statement, I always assumed they didnt collaborate with the press anyway, It reminds me a lot of the Dianna situation, the interview and then using the press when they want to

GlorianaCervixia · 21/04/2020 05:18

Their behaviour makes me believe that Harry’s previous public image of a fun, easy-going man, bit of a party boy but still duty minded, was carefully constructed for him by the palace and now the real him is emerging, sulky and puffed up with his own importance.

Snugglepiggy · 21/04/2020 06:38

Oh dear. The Editor of The Telegraph has said today rather than feeling privileged he is rather disappointed and requested the semi -royal H +M extend to same non- engagement offered to his tabloid brothers. Then he goes onto say at this time of global crisis the paper can be freed from reporting on their non - profit foundation,Archewell or anything else they are doing in LA.Ouch.

dottiedodah · 21/04/2020 06:54

Harry seems conflicted to me somehow. He obviously still has emotional ties to the UK and feels he wants to speak out about it .However now that he and Meghan are living in the US, his comments are no longer relevant. It amused me yesterday, when he said he would have nothing more to do with the British Tabloids .Yet if he is so happy in the states and has left England. Why does he seem to want to talk to any of the UK press at all?!

Does MM have an Audrey Hepburn complex?

The ingenue
Givenchy
Screen legend
Humanitarian
Icon

Audrey didn’t set up her own foundation though (her children did, after her death). Audrey was quite content working under the banner of UNICEF.

ShleeAnKree · 21/04/2020 07:43

Harry must know that you have to "take advice". He is behaiving like the world is goliath and he&meghan are david.

It is coming across unhinged.

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 21/04/2020 07:45

He is his mother’s son. Playing cat & mouse with the media. He blames them for his mother’s death but can’t see she was equally culpable. No seatbelt, drunk driver. And it wasn’t the British press that chased her on that night.

ShleeAnKree · 21/04/2020 07:45

@Snugglepiggy oooh ouch
I wonder if they read that.

BarleylemonPenguin · 21/04/2020 07:46

So much damage is being done, he’s went from a much loved royal to a mocked hate figure globally and in a very short space of time

This was always going to happen once you take off the veneer of royalty and find, gasp, a rather ordinary man underneath. The rest of us have to work hard to become skilled, professional, accomplished, happy, reasonable, independent people with a sensible outlook on life. Harry is finding that he has none of these traits and has not had enough time to figure out how to develop himself in order to compete in the real, adult world.

I also agree with posters who said that the celeb-world, as we know it, is probably over or at least will change substantially. We've always elevated the skilled and the accomplished (eg, gladiators) but we also like our celebs to do something noteworthy. The democratising aspect of the Internet, that allowed the vacuous celeb culture to develop, is probably also going to destroy it in this age of covid. We want to see some substance again. HaM both will have to learn a craft, and learn it quickly, if they are to thrive, not just survive, in this post-covid world.

ShleeAnKree · 21/04/2020 07:49

@NameChangeInfinite i am no huge fan of meghan but a lot of people are only commencing their growth at her age. Aristotle felt that growth and wisdom couldnt peak or be expected until 49. V specific but it is not fair to judge her that at 38, her growth is still ahead of her.

Bluntness100 · 21/04/2020 07:56

He is his mother’s son

Diana was much more media savvy than Harry is portraying himself to be. She never did constant media attacks or used platforms such as African tour etc to launch attacks on the media or play the victim.

Very different animals.
