Is there something seriously wrong with him?

The Dan Wootton Twitter thread is worth keeping an eye on. The gloves are indeed off.

RosesandIris · 20/04/2020 17:58

I suspect
also that the friends Harry has before his marriage who protected him and kept quiet may not continue to do so . Many have been sidelined if reports are to be believed.

RosesandIris · 20/04/2020 18:00

Which email is referred to in That twitter post?

Oldbutstillgotit · 20/04/2020 18:46

I have just read that Meghan “ understands elephants “ ........

Wolfgirrl · 20/04/2020 19:10

@oldbutstillgotit

I think you're misquoting for effect. She said:

'When you spend time with connecting with them and the other wildlife, you really understand we have a role to play in their preservation and their safety'

I am not a Meghan fan but I believe in fairness.

RosesandIris · 20/04/2020 19:28

So now she’s an expert on elephants, along with everything else.

CallmeAngelina · 20/04/2020 19:44

"Connecting with?"
Oh, what fresh hell is this?

Lordfrontpaw · 20/04/2020 19:46

MICHELLE OBSMA IS READING THE GRUFFLO FOR BEDTIME BOOK!

(Sorry not relevant but I got a bit excited when I saw it)

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/04/2020 19:51

Really, they can't deliver a bag of bloody shopping without posting a photo to prove their relevance and saintliness?

Evidently not - though when they've got so little to offer but are still determined to make headlines at every turn it's hardly surprising

What does surprise me is the court case going ahead; I thought there'd be a behind-the-scenes payoff, but it looks as if the Mail want to take it all the way
I guess Meghan had better hope that the friend who diclosed the letter won't insist that she authorised this - also that the Mail don't have any dirt to chuck in court

BubblesBuddy · 20/04/2020 19:52

Harry should read The Princess and the Pea.

There is loads of time for either side to settle. On the steps of the court if they want! Or most likely a private room. It depends who blinks first. Who is likely to be more savages by revelations? Who has the loose cannon father? It will be interesting.

BubblesBuddy · 20/04/2020 19:56

Aaah! savages !!! Who is likely to be more damaged. Savaged as well probably.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/04/2020 20:01

Who is likely to be more savaged by revelations?

Hard to see how it could be the Mail, since all H&M seem to have on them is "Waaahhh - they invaded my privacy - waaahhh"

I guess it's true that it could still be settled beforehand though - time will tell

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/04/2020 20:02

Ah, sorry Bubbles - I realised you didn't mean "savages" but picked the wrong one instead!! Wink

TimeLady · 20/04/2020 20:45

Grandad showing H how it should be done.

I can't imagine the timing is anything less than deliberate.

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 20/04/2020 20:48

Deals may be done at the courtroom door. Assume they are all appearing by video link? I’ve got a feeling that the mail may not back down.

But imo the best way to deal with this is an out of court settlement with whatever damages going to a charity.

CallmeAngelina · 20/04/2020 21:18

But hasn't it already begun? What are all these text messages about then?

BubblesBuddy · 20/04/2020 21:23

They are part of the evidence Meghan has submitted to the court in advance of the hearing. She could be questioned on her evidence. She has released the messages, not the court. It’s about trying to get her shot in first!

TimeLady · 20/04/2020 21:44

It's interesting to reread the story as it was published in January

It is a taster of what the Mail on Sunday will try to make the court case about - not centred on copyright law and data regulations, but about Meghan's character, her credibility, and the way she treats her family.

Bluntness100 · 20/04/2020 22:16

I also think they may be trying to stay in the media and appear relevant

I also don’t think Meghan is to blame for what’s occurred, I think she is Harry’s enabler. She’s supporting him and encouraging him. I think this is about him predominantly. If he wanted to stay as a senior royal that’s exactly where they would be now. I don’t think he’s weak willed at all.

Apparently agency staff and advisors find them very difficult, they only listen to each other and not the people they employ to help them.

It really does astound me how wrong they consistently get it. And to be fair it’s more Harry than Meghan.

The whole thing is a mess. And it’s a continual constant mess. I do worry about their mental health and where this will eventually end. None of it is in the realms of normal behaviour.

This is a man waging his own personal war and who can’t see past or outside that war. And a man who found himself a cheerleader which has validated him, agreed with him and enabled it.

He feels hard done to, attacked, justified in his behaviour, mis understood. And that the media and the royals are to blame. How much springs from his mothers death is hard to tell. But it’s clear he is struggling mentally.

Overall I think there is a very bad situation going on here with these two people.

drinkstoomuchwine · 20/04/2020 22:17

The timing of this, if nothing else, makes this a short sighted and self centred course of action.

miri1985 · 20/04/2020 22:59

In the court filings MM says that she was unaware that her friends were going to give the interviews to People magazine and didn't authorise them to do so.

Am I wrong to assume that People would have made her people aware that it was coming out and the content of the article?

Aren't People magazine also known to be ultra deferential to celebrities and publicists and not print anything unless its approved, I wonder if she knew of the content and could have asked for it to be changed before it was published.

Also those are terrible friends if they went and gave out personal information without asking. The other Royals really seem to have very loyal friends, I don't think I've ever read any leaks from their friend groups

ArriettyJones · 20/04/2020 23:02

Absolutely @miri1985

ShleeAnKree · 20/04/2020 23:02

They are brats. And they are IDIOTS. The tabloids are going to go for them now. Gloves off.
