Royals and American media coverage

Saw this cover posted on Twitter and noted that it seems the tabloids do indeed exist in the US (amazing, huh?). This is pretty much what you'd expect from the source, and I think it's pretty deplorable, but I am interested to see how the American media in general cover the presence of the former royals who've now arrived to make their home there. Of course we can discuss their coverage of other Royals too and related topics. All welcome.

Here, quality chocolate bars have been on sale, but one must visit early, as they sell out. I love chocolate, but resist the urge to buy every time I go shopping. I have no self control when it comes to chocolate.

I have no self-control over chocolate either, winterlife and since this lockdown started (and my healthy eating plan stopped) I have eaten a good deal of it.

In fact I have eaten a good deal of many unhealthy things since lockdown started.

@mathanxiety I haven’t seen any mention of MM not being able to pronounce the name of her favourite wine properly. By ‘here’ I presume you mean on this site?

I wouldn’t have paid it any attention if I had read it. I’d be very surprised if Meghan didn’t know how to pronounce it properly. I looked at The Tig a few times when it was up and Meghan was a self-confessed foodie who liked travelling to Italy. And she was living with a chef. So I’d be confident she knew how to pronounce it.

I cringed for her when the producers of her Disney doc Elephant said recently to the press that Harry corrected her pronunciation a few times as she was recording the narrative. If I was her I’d have been angry with them at about that. It’s very undermining on both a professional and feminist level - letting the world know that her husband was hanging out at her workplace correcting her.

How odd, I have only read here that MM supposedly couldn’t pronounce Tignanello. I agree, that seems unlikely.

Chocolate is good. I think I will spend most of the weekend eating chocolate. That is one thing I really miss the this lockdown. To be able to buy my favourite chocolate when I want it. We have chocolate, but only milk chocolate left. I like dark chocolate with nuts.

I'm not sure MM would be worried about him correcting her, I think she thinks it's them working as a "team". I find it odd that they are effectively still going to work together. It's bizarre. How does she expect to be taken seriously as an advocate for female empowerment?

fleas, I am still not sure what do think about those alleged correction. Why would she not be able to pronounce the words on the first place? English is her mother tongue. Bizarre.

Mustress, I am in shock! How can you not like chocolate with nuts . It gives all this taste and texture....!!!

I assumed the corrections would be African words and place names. I'd expect her vocabulary to significantly better than his.

fleas good point about MM maybe seeing it as them working as a team. I guess that must be the case otherwise it would be very bitchy of the TV producers to reveal that.

At the risk of getting drummed off the thread I'm not a chocolate fan. The exception being chocolate caramel shortbread. Do love that!
