Why do HARRY and MEGHAN write their INSTAGRAM posts with this WEIRD mix of words in block CAPITALS and others in standard script? It's very ODD.

Anyone see Harry’s video chat with families of vulnerable British children ? Just released .

CathyorClaire · 16/04/2020 14:13

Yeah I saw it. Struck me as a bit try hard. And he looks a sunburnt mess.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 16/04/2020 20:09

I just saw it. It was very awkward. I think he thought the conversation would just flow and it didn't. He did his best but would have done better to have had some specific questions lined up. You can't just busk these things.

As a fellow ginger I see familiar hair challenges starting to kick in! 😂

CathyorClaire · 16/04/2020 20:35

Unsurprisingly tone deaf too.

Rolling and giggling round the floor of a mansion he's never going to be evicted from when people 'back home' don't know where the next rent or mortgage payment is coming from?

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 16/04/2020 21:17

I think we've seen that backdrop before too, when he announced the postponement of the Invictus Games. If not, it's uncannily similar to the kitchen in their Vancouver digs.

Jillyhilly · 17/04/2020 08:57

It was odd. Those families were very impressive and I really can’t imagine the struggle and anxiety that they are going through right now. But what a strange time for H to talk about enjoying laughing his head off with Archie and Meghan. When you’re supporting 3 vulnerable kids and terrified about whether the meds will arrive or what will happen if anyone contracts the virus in your small family house I don’t imagine you spend much time “feeling guilty for having too much family time”.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 17/04/2020 11:47

I got the impression he was suffering from verbal diarrhoea tbh, trying to fill the gaps. If the people who took part in the call got comfort and benefit from it, job done.

I don't think it was particularly newsworthy though, other than to confirm what we all suspected, that they had gone straight to LA and not Canada as was implied.

Ilovellamasandpenguins · 17/04/2020 12:01

As a parent with two SEN children - people do feel uncomfortable talking to me about them and have often said something that was a little ‘off’ or suggested I do things with them that I wouldn’t dream of doing. I tend not to take offence if they don’t know my immediate situation.

Like fleas said, if parents got comfort from it then job well done.

ArchePenguin · 17/04/2020 12:06

Does anyone else think that Harry looks like Mark Gatiss from The League Of Gentlemen?

Royston LAsey.

He looks like a total mess in the video. And a bad case of verbal diarrhoea.
But it was good to see him doing something on his own rather than with Meghan.
Lots of non-stories coming out about them, as always leaked by a friend...typical Meghan style. Delivering all of six meals, and why do they have to go together? And of course driving around in a big Range Rover followed by another one for security. All for the photo op.
And making it out as if the 90k donation comes from them, whereas the money belonged to the BBC.

Oldbutstillgotit · 18/04/2020 08:02

They have been pictured walking their dogs . Just happened to be a photographer around .

ArchePenguin · 18/04/2020 10:24

Well, she needs to make her pocket money somehow.

Someone took photos of Matthew Macfadyen and Keeley Hawes when they were out walking their dog and put it in IG. There is a marked difference in, let’s say the appearance and the attire, and I felt sorry for MM and KH - just leave them in peace and let them get on with their lives!

You can always tell when people are camera ready and when they aren’t.

CallmeAngelina · 18/04/2020 15:20

Yeah, those dog-walking pics didn't look set up to me. As you say, they weren't camera-ready.

Hamsterian · 18/04/2020 15:22

And I’ve now seen the other thread where it is mentioned that Angel Food is not using any of their usual volunteers at the moment, only paid staff. How the hell do these two get in then to deliver a few meals? I would be upset if I was a volunteer. And of course CCTV footage emerged...what a coincidence... I can’t believe some people don’t realise every single thing they do is for publicity.

Maudiejames · 18/04/2020 19:43

Meghan and Harry have left the RF, to go abroad to do their own thing, and control their own publicity. So why have Mail Online started printing stories about them again. I was hoping not to hear about them ever again... grr..

ArchePenguin · 19/04/2020 00:08

The Daily Star is reporting that Meghan will do her first TV interview on Good Morning America on Monday morning.

7Worfs · 19/04/2020 08:21

Ugh.

Winterlife · 19/04/2020 08:24

The Daily Star is reporting that Meghan will do her first TV interview on Good Morning America on Monday morning.

Hence the "anonymous" charity and photographed dog walks.

All very "Hollywood".

MarginalGain · 19/04/2020 08:24

The Daily Star is reporting that Meghan will do her first TV interview on Good Morning America on Monday morning.

Really? I'm actually kind of surprised. Not sure why.

Winterlife · 19/04/2020 08:25

ABC is owned by Disney. It likely was arranged some time ago.

Gosh. I am very surprised about this as well but, as MarginalGain said, not sure why. It was kind of expected.

MarginalGain · 19/04/2020 09:10

It just seems kind of low-brow, middle-America?

I grew up watching GMA and haven't lived in the US for donkeys years so maybe things have changed, but it reminds me of Regis and Kathy Lee or similar.

BarleylemonPenguin · 19/04/2020 09:26

Marginal - I don't know much about these programmes/names but I find it difficult to believe that she would put herself in this position if she doesn't want trouble. It seems too soon. There will, literally, be an elephant in the room when she is talking about, well, what? Has she studied elephants in order to contribute to the elephant topic? Is she going to talk about her narration? Or, is she not going to talk about the royal-adjacent material? What can she possibly talk about that is benign and neutral? Must say, though, a very exciting development.
