I think Barry and Meghan want, and think they can, change and save the world. I think they rate themselves quite highly as global influencers but I think they've blown it completely now. I really have no idea what B&M intend to do in LA, especially Barry. It will be fascinating to see it unfold.

I expect they're desperately looking for an angle on the current pandemic, to raise their profile through virtue signalling. They will probably start a charitable foundation raising money for research into vaccines or something else, and make speeches about how much they're feeling the pain of everyone's grief back in the UK (while keeping their distance, half a world away). They are stupid to go to LA now, when California is about to enter its own phase of Coronaggedon.

I think there might be a last minute flurry of media coverage before Barry and Peg finally hand back the keys, so to speak. On 31st March I will be mentally waving them off for ever.

In fact, maybe we need to organise a mass wave, at an agreed time. We need biodegradable flags bearing the Sussex Royal logo which rapidly fade and then disintegrate.

Since they seem to be using their close protection officers to run errands and then practically hosing them down at the door I can see how this might be a worry. I wonder how much a human shield costs in LA?

PineappleDanish: inspired - particularly on this thread. I especially like the fragmentation and fracturing of the disinfecting action as signified by the capitalisation of the first three letters.

Someone mentioned upthread that post- this, folk will be less tolerant toward paying for them. I'm not sure that we will know that we are. I remember reading something about how Princess Margaret was funded. Hmmm. Didn't also the Queen Mother die massively in debt while simultaneously managing to leave William and Barry their millions? I could go on. This is precisely the reason why their funding affairs are so convoluted. Same reason why mobile phone and energy plans are so difficult to decipher. They all muddy the waters on purpose so that they can extract more money from us (for that is where their wealth comes from).

All I can is Barry & Peg have not behaved well.

The article by Rebecca English was very interesting & sad as at the heart of it is a family left bewildered by the actions of two younger members who didn’t get protocol. I don’t blame Peg for that but Barry. He grew up in that environment after all.

WHY do they all plan a children's book? Not just Fergie, Madonna tried it too and lots more besides. Such a lazy trope and if not plagiarised usually demonstrates a total lack of understanding children.

If any of the UK security team (assuming they are there) contract the virus, surely they will have to self-isolate and I can't see how they can be replaced in the current lockdown/flight ban.
