I think I read that Sophie W* is BFFs with Giles Coren's wife, which is why some credence was given to his tweet about the supposed affair.

I am saying there is nothing wrong with the message itself, just as there is nothing wrong with the message that W and David A joined forces to convey to in Davos where the WEF was full of rich people who arrived by private jets (W himself has since used private jets several times)

There is nothing wrong with the message of mending the earth that W&K conveyed in Pakistan (despite them taking private jets).

The issue comes from when H&M gets slammed forever for taking a private jet and W&K don't . I see them all as doing the same things. PC has been doing it since the 70s.

Oh, and if William were lecturing the world about climate change while taking private jets, including when giving those very lectures, I’d say he’s a hypocrite as well.

you have raised this several times on several H&M threads. can you leave off and if you don't like this thread, go back to the "anyone who is happy for H&M" thread that you post copious comments on.

A couple of newspapers are reporting that Harry could be given diplomatic status to facilitate his green card and allow his PPO to carry guns.
Why should he be allowed this preferential treatment?

I am a fan of MM. When she came to one of our charities in London under the radar she was very informed, sweet and humble. She gave very practical results which have been very helpful to a lot of people, and according to the leaders of the charities, she still keeps in touch with ideas even after she and H left the country.

While I know history well, I never really cared much for the current RF or followed them much. But when I read up about MM and her projects, I found her to be quite results driven and started to look deeper into it, the stories were not adding up and on closer inspection, raised an eyebrow - and part of it was when I looked at the comparable criticism of other royals doing the same things etc.

As I said, I would not bother to start a thread on K&W. While, I think there is much love for them now, thanks to the MM hatred, I don't think there is that much to say about them and their projects in the last 18yrs anyway. And while I always thought they were lazy, I cannot bring myself to be passionate enough about them to start a thread, and I suspect neither are most people. I remember someone saying they have never done or said much of note to warrant any discussion about them.

I’m genuinely stunned that spurs are allowed. How is that not animal cruelty?

Wheresthebeach spurs are allowed but their use is (or, should be) monitored and restricted just as the use of a whip, for example, is monitored in horse racing (eight times per race, or something like that).

There are no spurs worn in horse racing. Very strict guidance as to type of spur and use is applicable in other equestrian sport such as eventing. Most people don’t wear them though. The military wear them but don’t use them. They are part of the uniform.

I admire your robust girlcrush defense of MM, but the two don't necessarily go hand in hand, they're not the yin and yang of the royals.

Mummy. None of us know any of these people (apart from Harry snogger’s friend or an occasional fleeting meet and greet such as your own), will never be married to them or be friends with them. However, we are in a relationship with them and that relationship is one of an exchange (we give them something, they give us something). They are all here doing their bit in exchange for what we give them. HaM are not here doing their bit but are still taking what we give them.

No, I don't despise them with a passion, I could never have a passion for them. But I do not like the fact that they are constantly getting a pass or being elevated and H&M get vitriol for doing the exact same things.

One or two posters have come on here in the past to bash the whole RF. But I just thought at least they were treating them all equally.

As I said, there was a time when long term posters used to look at things from different points of view on here, but lately that seems to be gone as well.

I think it is one of the things we are taught at the charities, it is hard to stand by and watch someone be piled and not say a word, so it may be hard for me to bite my tongue sometimes.
