Here's a follow on to the last thread, which was really enjoyable.

Tbh the pandemic is giving them an excellent excuse why they can’t succeed on their own. Wink

They would’ve built their £ bazillion worth brand, as ‘experts’ predicted, if not for this pesky virus!

I think your post will probably get deleted but I agree

OverUnderSidewaysDown · 18/03/2020 10:22

No reason why Eden’s post should be deleted. It’s accurate.

SussexRoyalPenguin · 18/03/2020 10:25

H was in the army so he must be very good at cleaning and polishing.

I have a brilliant idea for their Netflix livestream but it will be deleted as it features the words polish glitter and t..

SussexRoyalPenguin · 18/03/2020 10:26

Toenails, obvs.

RosesandIris · 18/03/2020 10:31

Their sheer self absorption is absolutely staggering. I also just don’t understand why they need all these lackeys with rubber gloves. Why can’t they get off their arses and look after themselves?

FromEden · 18/03/2020 10:37

Oh and to add, I have some empathy for Harry because I am also thousands of miles away from my parents, grandparents, siblings and nieces. Its upsetting to me because I dont know when I will see them again or if I ever will. I can't travel. They dont have that worry. That's the difference between them and us. So in mumsnet speak ODFOD you complete twats.

FromEden · 18/03/2020 10:39

But ps I'm sorry your servants have to wear disposable gloves. They should at least be silk ones. Ugh

Yes I am going to sleep now. Sorry

I suppose that rich and privileged people will do better during this troubled time, as they always do.

However, generally people become rich and/or privileged by being born to it, working for it, marrying it or, in rare cases, winning it.

(Haich was born to it; MM, imo, worked for some if it but became rich beyond expectations by marriage - the security of a regular large income is important.)

And rich people sometimes use or donate their money or platform to help those less privileged.

HaM are unusual in that they've given up the platform they once had. MM gave up acting to marry Haich; Haich has given up royal status and duties to protect his family, lion-like.

They're still rich and will always be.
At the moment there is public interest in them (although dropping by the second, especially in the light of CV), so they need security.

They could be content with being rich and having a nice family life.

But apparently they want to help people.
So, why don't they?

Eg give a million to vaccine research.

Credit to @FromEden. 🙂

BelleharePenguin09 · 18/03/2020 10:55

The post says it all. 👍🏻

RainbowPenguins · 18/03/2020 10:56

I also think the established charities helping peoples mental health, especially the elderly, in times of isolation are more experienced than HaM. We need more exposure of their websites and telephone numbers.

Yep, and if H&M genuinely wanted to help they could do this RIGHT NOW and share details on their Instagram. But that wouldn't make them any money would it?

ButteryPuffin · 18/03/2020 11:02

The constant use of disposable gloves can't be environmentally friendly either. Proper regular hand washing would be better.

Allflightscancelled · 18/03/2020 11:22

And on that point, butterypuffin I have an exciting digression. I managed to get a bottle of hand wash today! Grin

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 18/03/2020 11:39

Excellent news, Allflights! I am feeling rather smug myself about the automatic liquid soap dispenser I bought on impulse some months ago. If only I had a Dyson hand dryer...

Allflightscancelled · 18/03/2020 11:50

Nah, I was using one of those the other day. I reckon they blast suspicious droplets upwards into your nose

Allflightscancelled · 18/03/2020 11:51

The driers, not the dispensers Grin

BelleharePenguin09 · 18/03/2020 12:02

I know it’s the DM, so apologies. Hope the link works as I’m a bit new to mumsnet.

llamas I recommend doing as the wise ladies on FWR and apologising for Guardian links, not DM. Smile

Oldbutstillgotit · 18/03/2020 15:47

H and M sharing information etc about Coronavirus on Instagram ! Where would we be without them ?

RosesandIris · 18/03/2020 15:48

I think Meghan thinks she’s actually the Queen speaking to the people.

BelleharePenguin09 · 18/03/2020 15:51

Think they are merely trying desperately to post something. Life as they know is becoming dull. AND they have no new pics.

Shame!

7Penguins · 18/03/2020 16:01

Thanks for the heads up, I just checked their account and am facepalming at the self-importance and self-involvement.
Am pasting here for all who don't do Insta. It's absolute tripe, they'll be posting 'truths' and 'inspiration', as if national and world health organisations don't do that! As for inspiration - every local FB page has more helpful posts, with people organising deliveries to vulnerable groups.

Fucking delusions of grandeur these two, I swear.

These are uncertain times. And now, more than ever, we need each other. We need each other for truth, for support, and to feel less alone during a time that can honestly feel quite scary.

There are so many around the world who need support right now, who are working tirelessly to respond to this crisis behind the scenes, on the frontline, or at home. Our willingness, as a people, to step up in the face of what we are all experiencing with COVID-19 is awe-inspiring. This moment is as true a testament there is to the human spirit.

We often speak of compassion. All of our lives are in some way affected by this, uniting each of us globally. How we approach each other and our communities with empathy and kindness is indisputably important right now.

Over the coming weeks, this will be our guiding principle.

We will be sharing information and resources to help all of us navigate the uncertainty: from posting accurate information and facts from trusted experts, to learning about measures we can take to keep ourselves and our families healthy, to working with organisations that can support our mental and emotional well-being.

In addition, we will focus on the inspiring stories of how so many of you around the world are connecting in ways big and small to lift all of us up.

We are all in this together, and as a global community we can support each other through this process – and build a digital neighbourhood that feels safe for every one of us.

We look forward to sharing more over the days and weeks to come...
