Here's a follow on to the last thread, which was really enjoyable.

We all got fairly excited in BC when we thought they were closing the borders, then we found out it was “except to 300 million or so Americans”. Ffs. And ya, turns out they can still fly in and out. Pity, I liked the idea of them queueing up onboard a ferry to get a burger from the cafeteria or sushi from the glass dispensing box thingies onboard the Queen of Saanich or whatever. Grin

If I were one of their protection team, I would be handing in my resignation. No way would I want to risk being stuck long term in Canada and unable to get back to my family under current circumstances. I would take the chance that my 'particular set of skills' Smile would get me another job but I would want to be close to my family, not risking my life for someone else's family when my own might be ill and need me.

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 16/03/2020 21:36

yeah me too puffin.

DandyPenguin · 17/03/2020 00:11

Catching up after one hell of a Covid day.

I don't give a shit about their security or where they live actually. Other than I want them to pay for security themselves above and beyond what they'd get in the uk. Even that's generous since they're non-working royals.

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 17/03/2020 08:24

Well the Met Gala has been cancelled, so that's one more 'opportunity' off the list...

ButteryPuffin · 17/03/2020 10:01

Quiet life coming up for the Sussexes, as for all of us, for some time. It's what they said they wanted. Lots of family time, far less press intrusion as they'll all be occupied with coronavirus crisis. It's only the position it leaves the security staff in that's a concern.

ajandjjmum · 17/03/2020 10:24

True case of 'careful what you wish for' - or say you wish for.

DandyPenguin · 17/03/2020 12:40

Hope all of you are doing well. X

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 17/03/2020 12:54

Possibly this where surviving rather than thriving really comes into play...

Can't they do something ridiculous to give us all a chance to bicker?!!

DandyPenguin · 17/03/2020 12:58

Lol yolo

FiveTwoFaster · 17/03/2020 13:02

It’s true. If the paps are self isolating we are going to have very little to chat about. Damn them!

DandyPenguin · 17/03/2020 13:04

Their timing for this has inadvertently been very unfortunate. When the 31 March comes people will be preoccupied with the zombie apocalypse.

ButteryPuffin · 17/03/2020 13:31

They'll still be able to use social media. I expect we'll hear from them via that before too long.

DandyPenguin · 17/03/2020 13:35

Oh yes I’m sure we will Grin

I meant more that they won’t get as many people interested and engaged in it.

lidoshuffle · 17/03/2020 13:44

I wonder what interesting stuff they'll be able to post on social media? Washing down door handles with bleach? Long walks in the woods? There's not much else going on I suspect on the island, lovely though it might be and the rest of the world have got their own (big) problems to be interested in this pair.

Agreed, their timing/world events could not have been worse. If they had still been in London/Frogmore there would have been a lot more opportunities to have a profile even in lockdown.

The cancellation of the Met Ball thing must have been a right sickener for MM. Harry wasn't going though which seems a bit odd for a (ahem) 'power couple'.

DandyPenguin · 17/03/2020 13:48

Maybe they can set up a charitable organisation to find a COVID-19 cure.

7Penguins · 17/03/2020 13:49

Big pharma already working on it, but I’m sure HAM can help Grin

ajandjjmum · 17/03/2020 13:53

They'll show them how to do it.

Like scrofula aka the king's evil?

Dunno.

If the touch of a ruling monarch cures scrofula, what does the touch of "Call me Haich" cure?

Ingrowing toenails?

Dandruff?

7Penguins · 17/03/2020 14:03

Eyyyy, I was about to make the dandruff joke! Grin

LaMarschallin · 17/03/2020 14:06

Given all the fuss about his incipient bald patch, you could always do the hair [sic] (non)apparent joke?

Oops...! Wink

7Penguins · 17/03/2020 14:09

🔥 🔥 🔥

LaMarschallin · 17/03/2020 14:20

I would have put a "Mwah!" here, but all things considered: 🙏

If it's good enough for the defender of the faith etc

DandyPenguin · 17/03/2020 14:24

Perhaps HAM can help by doing posts asking if everyone is OK Smile

7Penguins · 17/03/2020 14:26

Uplifting messages of positivity and kindness 🙏🏻
