They flipper coin

This is so bad, it's good Grin

EinsteinsArousedSausagesHCB · 13/03/2020 20:27

Penguin minis look super cute but do they have any chocolate?

They do indeed. They have chocolate coated backs.

Taste shit though, and yet I still rescue them from the clutches of the biscuit aisle.

Sacrificing the humble chocolate digestive, so that the mini penguins may thrive.

FannyCann · 13/03/2020 20:35

*I am very old. I remember what was probably my 5th or 6th birthday, Mum bringing me home from school, saying she'd got some Penguins for my birthday party. I was very upset when I saw them - I expected a lookalike biscuit!

Always stayed we me - penguins have always been a bit of a disappointment.*

I remember, at a similar age, some family friends giving us a box of Black Magic. I was so excited. I thought there'd be wands and dark spells and curses and things.
There were....mediocre chocolates.

That's right. I was a child who was disappointed by a gift of chocolates.

No idea what that has to do with this thread, H&M or penguins. Sorry. Just remembering childhood disappointments.

Penguins In the Time of Coronavirus OMG how did I miss this absolute gem?? crack on brains we need more Grin

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 13/03/2020 20:39

In my youth milk tray was the height of sophistication. It should have been penguin biscuits. I’m outraged on their behalf.

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 13/03/2020 20:43

Now, THAT's a job for Hazza! The reincarnation of the Milk Tray Man! He could look macho and hunky, perform acts of derring-do, and above all Not Speak.

(a penguin could probably do it for cheaper though)

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 13/03/2020 20:48

Milk Tray?

Nah, it was After Eights. No dinner party was complete without them. I loved the little black envelopes. If nothing else it gave you somewhere to discreetly tip your after dinner ash.Grin

Or the Ferrero Rocher "Ambassador's Party" ad could be reincarnated with H&M starting in the "Duke's/Prince's activist
party"

Thing is, H has moved from a circle of tried and trusted (if drunken) friends, to a world where friendship goes hand in hand with mutual business introductions and enhancement of status. And moving on if someone is no longer deemed as valuable. He won't have a clue how to navigate this, let alone have any emotional support.
Here is a fairy penguin I saw recently.

SussexRoyalPenguin · 13/03/2020 22:07

The fairy penguin is so cute!!

ElectricMartha · 13/03/2020 22:16

Back on sussexroyal Instagram the comments on the most recent post are brutal. Do you think H&M are reading them? They will not be happy if they are.

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 13/03/2020 22:23

god, I wish I understood insta... I am lucky if I can click on one of the DDs posts (pages?) before it fucks off to other things.

H, allegedly, reads everything he can find.

Fairy penguins are the cutest I think.

StartupRepair · 13/03/2020 22:32

There's a colony living at St Kilda Beach in Melbourne.

I can't read Insta. I find the fawning and the vitriol equally unpalatable. I certainly wouldn't be reading them in their position, that way lies misery.

I'd employ someone sensible to weed through the dross and pick out themes that might be worth knowing about, and have them presented to me in a frank but constructive form.

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 13/03/2020 22:52

I don’t do Instagram. Not because I’m a snob - I can’t understand it.

Luckily I can get my gossip from blind gossip Grin Blush

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 13/03/2020 22:53

Those are lovely photos, StartupRepair!

SussexRoyalPenguin · 13/03/2020 23:09

electric. Ask H what is his favourite penguin.

DandyPenguin · 13/03/2020 23:32

I’ve just had a look at their latest Insta post. At least half of the comments seem to be negative.

The vast majority of it is the usual criticism they’ve had on their posts of late - the post being all about them (in thus case Meghan no Harry); the Sussexes having nothing of substance to say; when are they going to drop the Royal; who’s paying for security; how they’ve wrongly made out they’re victims; and how they’re clearly deleting negative comments etc.

But there’s small batches of posts - more then one poster saying it in each case but less then ten from what I can see - that are somewhat different:

An accusation of cultural appropriation given the use of an anti-apartheid piece of music for the video of Meghan and the commonwealth university research students.

A few posters accusing Meghan being the type of rich person from the Northern Hemisphere who like to “play heroes and charity-givers for poverty-stricken foreigners” from the Southern Hemisphere (quote is the poster’s words).

Quite a few pointing out that it’s been confirmed that the Canadian president’s wife has coronavirus. They point out that as Sophie Trudeau is good friends with MEghan, in their view she or someone in her and MM’s social circle was likely to have come into contact with Archie while MM “heartlessly” (again, not my word) left Archie behind.

CanIHaveAPenguinPlease · 13/03/2020 23:37

Oh my gosh that’s nasty. The vitriol they will get if it turns out Archie gets it will be awful.

DandyPenguin · 13/03/2020 23:44

I highly doubt the coming into contact with Sophie Trudeau or her circle would have happened while Meghan & Harry were over here. The Trudeaus live in Ottawa.
