I hope I've got what everyone wants in the title of this, the twelfth thread in the series.

I saw that re the Queen. I really hope she is well. I think this country needs her.

I am very sorry if I caused offence by laughing at the cat pictures. There was some bad comments when the non-cat thread was started, no doubt typed in anger without thought. I found the policing by the non-cat OP and the constant telling off for discussing serious health issues and light hearted cat discussions very annoying - and almost cruel. I thought the response here was very measured. After that I couldn’t help laughing at the cat pictures. And I did feel bad - sorry MaisWee!

She's smiling because she's happy!

Ok. Let's say this is true. She's just a happy mum going for a stroll. The backdrop of this walk is her husband stepping away from everything he's known in his life. How is she so serene?

I'm putting myself in her shoes (as much as anyone can) when I ask this. I cannot remember me ever walking around with a serene smile on my face anytime someone I love dearly is having a horrible time, let alone a lover.

And you have to look past the coincidence of no shots when H around, and then (perhaps because there's no shots) posting unnecessary retrospective pictures to Insta. Why do this?

Well, I'm sure they don't want to stay holed up in that big house 24/7. Nothing wrong with going for a walk in a park surely. It's not like she rocked up to the SAGs

I wonder what happened after Fathers' Day 2016? She hadn't met H then had she? That was a lovely message to her dad. He must be so confused if he isn't aware of any major falling out between then and now (apart from the set-up photos).

Indeed. There are procedures in place for just such eventualities and there will have been multiple briefings on how the protected person should react and what the close protection officers would do. I know this as my ex BF used to work in close protection in the forces.

I've just read that H&M met on a blind date in July 2016. Fathers' Day in the US is on 3rd Sunday in June so Meghan met Harry very shortly after that lovely post about her dad.

It's a natural reaction to look up and smile when you're name is called. No matter who you are.

It could be she is happy because he's coming out to see her though? The closing of a difficult chapter. Definitely seems like they used a long range lens. They probably weren't wearing press vests. She could have been smiling at what she thought was just another dog walker. If she's up to this all the time when Harry is away why is she bad at it?

I'm sorry but I honestly don't think it is a natural reaction. Not for very famous people plus she is with her child and her dogs so pretty vulnerable and weighed down by them. No easy escape. She can't run. Someone yells her name and she carries on strolling along without a care in the world and gives a beaming grin? I wouldn't, I know I wouldn't. Her security officers do nothing. They don't step toward to assess the threat. One remains on his phone. Come on!

There is plenty of information available to apply some critical thinking, compare to past knowledge and experiences, and reach a conclusion.
I don’t need 100% information to evaluate risk and options, and proceed with a decision. In fact, we can never have 100% of it, even about situations in our own lives.

I'm not convinced that a person would be so happy knowing what those actions entail for their husband. I believe that even if most people were privately happy, they'd make an attempt to show concern.

And also not make impromptu visits to women's shelters whilst wanting privacy and posting retrospective pics when your SIL is trending.

There's a lot of coincidences. And only so much of it can be explained away as such (imo)

I worked for a very famous person. I can't say who as I signed a NDA. Part of my job was liaising with their security team in order to do my job. I couldn't do it without their help. I spoke to them every day and had cause to visit their offices within the home. I have an ex who was trained in close protection. I used to be in the forces myself and would guard various secure installations and the staff within, complete with rifle. You're right I can't know but I can make a very educated guess.

But, maybe this assumption isn't true:
Someone yells her name
It could be they didn't yell her name. They disguised themselves/ were at a distance/ presented themselves as non threatening. Couldn't it?
