Whatever the rights and wrongs and permutations of the situation, how appalling to leave TM without any support, never bother to meet him, offer useless advice to just ignore being harassed by the paparazzi (something he’s always so quick to condemn publicly), and then tell a guy who’s had a flipping heart attack that he brought it all on himself, essentially?
It just comes across as a totally self-centred, uncaring and high-handed approach - a cruel approach, which is not what I would have expected at all
I agree with the analysis, Nomintrude, but am not sure why you're surprised? Harry's a blood member of the RF - the son of Charles, for heaven's sake - and despite the occasional PR stunts the attitude of "we're different and the rules don't count" spills out only too easily
Just as with Andrew we carry on about the latest scandals, but with no accountability at all they know their position's secure as long as the majority prefer them to a presidency - and their position is what will be prioritised first, last and always
Given time I honestly believe this will change - in fact it IS already changing - but I doubt it'll shift enough in my lifetime
