These are the words of Prince Harry. He sounded defeated. He has lost his military patronages. He is no longer living anywhere near his brother or father. He is moving to Canada.

Meanwhile, Meghan has been photographed in the park, with Archie and the dogs, beaming. It seems that she alerted the paparazzi herself. Meghan has truly got what Meghan wants.

I wonder what they said to one another when he got back?

I strongly suspect every action being taken right now is about media manipulation. Why hide out when you can defiantly show the world how happy you are. Hiding out sends a message that something is wrong.

I don't think she wrote that speech. Someone else did. Possibly their own PR with his input. The text released contains more grammatical errors than were contained in the spoken version. Another error that would never happen with royal press officers.

One interesting point from towards the end of the last thread.

They have left the proximity of one family they find toxic, and who are tabloid targets (but who rovide considerable material resources, plus scope to develop a major charitable role). And gone to the proximity of a different family they find toxic, bring the notorious US tabloids into play (and H&M now have unknown resources and uncertain possibilities of future role)

I think Africa wouid have been a considerably better destination for them, if their statements about families, press intrusion n, and roles which make a difference, are to be believed at face value

I'm just curious about their legal status in Canada. I assume Meghan had the Canadian equivalent of a worker's visa when she was there filming Suits. Or did she have the equivalent of a green card? I don't know enough about her previous life to know if she lived there year round or just during filming. Technically, she and Archie (as US citizens) don't need a visa to enter Canada and stay for up to 6 months at a time, but reality is that many Americans stay much longer. If you cross the border by land you don't even need a passport. Just a passport card and no record of your entry is kept. At least when DH and I have driven into Canada there was no paperwork.

Not that they'll have any problems getting permanent residency in Canada. They've got the money needed to meet the financial requirements. All they need to do is 'invest' $800K in Canada.

I agree with the previous poster who said that these celebs can go totally underground when they want to ! You never see the Clooneys papped unless they have something to sell, then you will see them photographed coming out of their front door, restaurants, cars etc. then nothing until next event.

So, I do think the paps have been tipped off about her picking her friend up from the airport, out for a walk with the baby and the dogs, hopping onto a seaplane.

These are not random pap photographs, and I think we will be seeing a lot more of the photographs, as they have to maintain the public interest in order to capitalise on their celebrity.

On that point could it be the urgency of the announcement by H&M was based on getting to Canada ASAP to protect her immigration status - which months of talks would have compromised?

I sympathise with PW if he feels abandoned. For some reason, I already feel bad about this years wreath laying ceremony at the Cenotaph on 11th November which Harry will not be as he has no royal or ceremonial function.

Maybe he will grow to like it? There's certainly going to be more freedom. Maybe it will actually be more fun? She seems to have a will of steel. Maybe it will be enough for the two of them. The more it goes on, the more I wonder if he will want to come back in a year or two as everyone seems to think. Maybe we are giving him too much credit in thinking he will come to realise. I am not sure now.

Love Harry, ambivalent about Meghan..... Really think he's going to struggle massively with a lack of purpose in his life. Their backgrounds are just too disparate sadly. Don't blame her completely, he wanted rescuing from the tower and she brought him the key.
