Harry and Meghan - "It Has Come To This"

These are the words of Prince Harry. He sounded defeated. He has lost his military patronages. He is no longer living anywhere near his brother or father. He is moving to Canada.

Meanwhile, Meghan has been photographed in the park, with Archie and the dogs, beaming. It seems that she alerted the paparazzi herself. Meghan has truly got what Meghan wants.

I wonder what they said to one another when he got back?

Lol at typing Ken’s Kebabs.

I feel it’s uncharted waters just having seen it.

OVienna · 21/01/2020 17:30

Parker123 I really debated engaging with this remark but honestly - look at those photos. They are now threatening to sue over their publication. Really? If you think that she was caught unawares (perhaps smiling at a friend who was then mugged for her camera), then we will have to agree to disagree. This is the issue that has been raised here.

SunshineCake · 21/01/2020 17:30

Who said she alerted the paps herself ?

Some people just hate her and will make up all sorts of shit. Embarrassing.

GlitchStitch · 21/01/2020 17:31

I think the security issue is going to keep rumbling on. Harry has travelled with two Met police and apparently they now have Canadian Mounties too (one of the guys at Meghan's walk), so the Canadians are also funding it. Can't see that going down well.

Parker231 · 21/01/2020 17:33

OVienna. I’ve looked at the photos and can’t what she has done wrong. Better to smile at the intrusive press than yell at them (as I would have).

Why make up facts when you have no evidence?

OVienna · 21/01/2020 17:33

I didn't say she alerted the paps, though. She certainly doesn't seem to be alarmed/concerned by the proceedings.

The press will not go away - they consider it their job to take photos of famous people and in a public place in Canada, as other people have explained, this is not breaking the law.

OVienna · 21/01/2020 17:34

I didn't make up any facts!

SunsetBoulevard3 · 21/01/2020 17:34

Just heard they are now moaning about photographers hiding in bushes...

TheMustressMhor · 21/01/2020 17:37

I reported TeaLibrary's post as it was so unpleasant.

Threatening" to sue and now issuing a legal warning to the media*. Which media? Splash? or all media outlets? I hope the British press aren't on Vancouver Island. I really don't want to see these pathletic snivelling bees private citizens in the UK press ever again. Let them have the privacy they lie say they want.

Lawyers say there have also been attempts to photograph inside their home using long-range lenses and they accuse the paparazzi of being camped outside the property.
I'm extremely cautious of any language used to do with these two now. (e.g. Intend to pay back taxpayer's money spent in Frogmore Cottage doesn't state they will pay it back).
Lawyers say doesn't mean that has really been happening. Why are we only hearing about this now? Surely Harry would have been told if this has been happening.

I hope PH isn't being mugged off by someone claiming this is happening as a way of getting him to agree to moving to Toronto.

I hope this isn't going to raise concerns so that the British taxpayer gets dumped on by being expected to pay H&M's security bill.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 21/01/2020 17:38

Sorry , see this has been mentioned upthread. It moves far too fast for me! I don't see how those photos could have been taken without her knowledge. She's smiling right at the photographer.

TheMustressMhor · 21/01/2020 17:39

@Parker231

Don't be disingenuous. Of course everyone is entitled to go for a walk. That is not the issue here.

I think we've discovered how they plan to become 'financially independent' - by suing every pap in existence.

The Peter Philips thing is cringey and will be used in their defence, even though he's not a f/t working royal, never was, never had a title, never had security (afaik), and isn't claiming money off the taxpayer or duchy.

HappyHammy · 21/01/2020 17:43

Are they also planning to sue the photographers who took pics of him leaving the plane

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 21/01/2020 17:43

Meghan must think we are all idiots if we are meant to believe she had no idea that photo was being taken. Obviously it is totally normal to have a beaming smile on your face while staring in the direction of a camera lens you don't know is there. Hmm

Maybe she was just practicing her smile because we all do that (not).

TheVanguardSix · 21/01/2020 17:43

Lots of common sense missing from the decision to Go West. I'm from the States, Los Angeles in fact. I've spent a lot of time on Vancouver Island as well (my two aunties live there). My point is, going to a relatively remote, quiet place (ok it's not the moon, but it's not Los Angeles or London) is probably NOT the best place for them to hide away from the paps, especially on an easy to access island. I wonder if the locals will get totally fed up of the circus.
And my life, you can run from the Daily Mail but you sure enough can't hide from The National Enquirer (or The Globe, which will shortly run a front-page piece on Meg's Martian Baby, mark(le) my words! That's The Globe for you. America. We take tabloids to the crazy place).

TheMustressMhor · 21/01/2020 17:47

We take tabloids to the crazy place

Although Meghan has said that there aren't any tabloids in the States.

I wish I could be papped. Because christ knows, trying to take a half decent passport photo isn't working. Having a photo taken without knowing is obviously the way to go. 😉

Good - let them bleat at the Canadian media for a while. That will give everyone some perspective.

I really think they are going for 'no photos without prior approval and we get a cut of the income'. Allowing any old person to snap away diminishes the value of the pics they will want to sell. IMO.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 21/01/2020 17:56

She is a cheeky mare

As briefed by a “friend”

She said that like her, his spirit was being crushed and she simply couldn't bare to see him suffer anymore,' the friend added

Meghan also confided that 'it was her love for him that made this possible

They are in 'no rush' to move out of the $14m mansion they've been using

The friend also said: 'Meghan and Harry are not planning on changing their website or Instagram name... they will keep the Royal part in

Meghan says they will always be considered royalty regardless of where they live or what they do

Royal pains in the arse.

The80sweregreat · 21/01/2020 17:57

I would hate any pictures of me as I am the least photogenic person on the planet! ( hence I'm not married to a prince)
Long lens might be the way to go with me looking the other way!

morrisseysquif · 21/01/2020 18:01

I think Megan saw a life of [boring] duty and the riches and privilege weren't enough of a compensation so she gave Harry an ultimatum.

Megan is used to being estranged from her family so the situation won't bother her but Harry is away from his parent, grandparents, brother, niece and newphews and the larger extended family and his friends.

He had a role, he had his family and now he just has wife and child in a country he doesn't know with no support system. I worry for his mental health.

Megan comes across as smug with her situation.

Nail hitting head there.

Screaming for 'privacy' and lambasting 'the press' except when it suits them to sell for money. Smacks of 'You do what I say when I tell you to do it. And pay me for it as well.'
