Harry speech at Sentebale dinner

It was a heartfelt speech. I think Harry genuinely thought he could go on representing the Queen.
I also think he took the hit saying it was his decision to step back from public life.
I think losing the military patronages were a huge blow. And I think he was genuine about funding himself; To be properly independent.i think meghan’s attitude could well have been that, but she gives off the vibes of someone who just wants to be rich.
Using her friends to say the RF is toxic, the British are racists, and Tom Bradby to say they will do a tell all interview is not the actions of someone who gives a shit about Queen and country.

Harry May think they are singing from the same hymn sheet, but her behaviour says otherwise. I think she says one thing to Harry but he is blind t her actual behaviour.

I think the dinner speech was a better presentation of their feelings than the SA interview.

I think he spoke well. I think it had enough nuance that it spoke of his mixed feelings without compromising his point about doing this but not coming across as anything negative - stroppy etc.

I think he looked to put to bed the following conjectures:

1. All about money with no duty
2. Family hates Meghan
3. they hate the British people

Now the speculation needs to end and it's walking the walk time.

That speech was possibly written by Meghan. It doesn’t matter a jot if he uses I to describe the decision to step back, it is likely she is pulling the strings even though he can’t see it. Methinks he could do the freedom programme.

The irony that Meghan visited the offices of a shelter for abused women is that (what some of us are speculating), she has an abused person about to join her from the U.K. A shelter, which accepts self iding women btw.

@Chocpear - I completely agree with your excellent post from just after midnight. This is my take on the whole shebang too. I also think Meghan just doesn't have the right type of personality to fit into the firm and she and Harry are acknowledging this quite early in their marriage. I do hope he has the will and strength to settle into a completely new and alien-to-him type of life that it seems she did not.

I feel for William as it's like becoming an only child in terms of sharing the burden of public duty for their generation of the royal family.

Apparently Prince Charles is going to fund them from his Private investments for a year.

I presume this is a couple of million quid a year.
I don’t understand why Harry and Meghan are not paying for themselves straight off the bat and putting their money where their mouth is.

Also, based on this «funding model» it looks like they are not going to be paying back Frogmore anytime soon.

I think the Alist / billionaires will melt away. ( where is the cachet in hanging out with a blist actress, touting for voiceover work)
Meghan is being supported by older friends, who will benefit from the association with Meghan, eg JessicaMulroney, Misha Noonoo and a few of the others from the baby shower, ( apart from Serena Williams who i think, based on her husband’s tweet, is distancing herself)

However they were due to launch their «Sussex Foundation» in 2020 so let’s see what form that takes and who shows up / tweets in support.

I think they will now be having a jet set lifestyle. She will be on chat shows - for a price of course and she might even launch her own fashion line. Then after a few years she will get fed up and again and divorce him. I just knew from the start she would not like the royal lifestyle and would leave eventually.

@CurlyWurlyTwirly I suspect it will be longer than a year.

Why doesn’t Meghan get herself a proper agent instead of A Harry?
