…… with an occasional look at wild garlic.

Thanks to MrsHuggett for the thread title.

This is Thread Ten, unbelievably.

Singinglady

We have a "barter" arrangement with the barber. We give him walnuts.

We got a brace of pheasants last year (Dec 2018) from him. DH was unsuccessful in doing the necessary and we couldnt use them. I have not been in the shed since then but he promised me he disposed properly and promptly. Seeing as we are in a terrace in London I think the neighbours would have noticed and we'd probably have been overrun by urban foxes trying to get at them.

Anyway, it's important this partridge is respectfully consumed.

diddl · 20/01/2020 16:17

How long has he been getting the 2+million from PC?

I mean he's lived rent free for years, had money for Royal duties, his army pay (which some folks live off & raise a family on!)

It's mind boggling!

ajandjjmum · 20/01/2020 16:20

Do they make electric Range Rovers?

eggandonion · 20/01/2020 16:20

Not to derail, but the cars under discussion were hybrid, so charge from their own petrol engine in some clever way. Toyota cars are increasingly hybrid, they don't need to be plugged in.

OVienna

What sauce are you planning with your game tonight?

DandyAndFine · 20/01/2020 16:24

I have a hybrid car. If anyone’s asking, which they’re not.

SingingLily · 20/01/2020 16:27

Even the most critical passing poster couldn't possibly accuse you of derailing, egg and onion. The thread title gives us positive licence to discuss electric cars. Grin

Mustress, if we go to Thread Eleven, we may need a much longer title...

TheMustressMhor · 20/01/2020 16:28

Don't worry, SingingLily.

I have a very excellent title in mind for Thread Eleven.

OP posts:
TheMustressMhor · 20/01/2020 16:30

In fact, MaisWeee has done the most derailing, since the thread title doesn't mention the Duke of Kent.

My DS advises that electric cars will be a temporary thing - the way forward is hydrogen. I don't know how that affects the new thread...

TheMustressMhor · 20/01/2020 16:31

But "Live and Let Live", I always say.

He donated his Army pay to charity.

(He couldn't opt out of receiving it, for wider admin reasons; much simpler to just employ him normally)

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 20/01/2020 16:33

Strictly speaking it's trains that derail. Could be electric ones of course.

TwentyViginti · 20/01/2020 16:39

My city's buses run on farts, basically.

Biogas if you want to be polite.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 20/01/2020 16:41

I've just realised that biogas is a kind of gas, and not a fancy Italian word for farts...

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 20/01/2020 16:50

I expect one can be created princess

Princess Alice of Gloucester; mother of the present Duke, was created a princess in her own right, so she didn’t have to be the Dowager Duchess of Gloucester

TwentyViginti · 20/01/2020 16:51

Is this a true story? That HMQ was riding in a carriage with some high up foreign dignitary she was hosting, and one of the horses farted. HMQ apologised. Dignitary said "if you hadn't said anything, your majesty, I'd have thought it was the horse".

Planeplane · 20/01/2020 16:52

I think we should only permit people who understand the Queen's family tree to post on this thread. Unless they have something interesting to say about garlic or electric cars.

I'm no family tree expert but we did buy some extra garlicy garlic from waitrose yesterday. Put some in with my roast potatoes last night and it was beautiful but I'm sure that everyone is glad that I haven't had any engagements today.

GoFiguire · 20/01/2020 16:56

No twenty - that was a joke that was doing the rounds in 1987 but Paul Burrell appropriated it on IACGMOOH and claimed it was true.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 20/01/2020 16:57

@TracyBeakerSoYeah

Well if Edward is going to be more in the limelight, I truly hope he gets a style intervention from Sophie & she burns those awful double breasted suits of his
If the Royal Style fashionistas have anything to do with it; definitely.
However, he’s been wearing them for so long that double breasted may well come back Into fashion!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 20/01/2020 16:58

I do like to think that at least Meghan would like the cookery tips/recipes on this thread........perhaps she may borrow them for her Tig Part Free.
And electric vehicles are very also very environmentally worthy which fits in with H&Ms 'campaigning'

TBH let's just say if it's really been a case of finding it difficult to adapt to the 'royal persona' rather than other things, (I'm still completely undecided) then maybe if they'd given it a bit longer & assumed a more gradual/slower approach, then Garry & Meghan could have done so much for the RF & vice versa.
I would have liked them to start a big initiative on teenage mental health as I feel that this is an area that is woefully underfunded in the UK.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 20/01/2020 16:59

Curly too true!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 20/01/2020 16:59

And I mean Harry not Garry!

MikeUniformMike · 20/01/2020 17:06

He had the best schooling money can buy and yet his English isn't the Queen's English.

MeghanMountbattenSausage · 20/01/2020 17:06

How about a wind up Royal Family?

Oh whoops MM did that already didn't she? Grin
