DH has defrosted a partridge shot by his barber. Seemed like a good idea at the time. We have to eat it tonight - whole bird (small.)

Sounds like the sort of thing the Sussex's redundant chef could do something quite special with.

I think the Queen might have commented that princess Michael was more royal than the rest of the family? She's a German aristocrat and was divorced I think? The duchess who is now unwell was beautiful, and used to be at Wimbledon a lot. Princess Alexandra was a sort of princess Anne type, but without the attitude!

I think it was intentional re the blackamoor brooch. Prince Michael's older brother is the Duke of Kent and his wife the Duchess of Kent is the lady who presents the trophies at Wimbledon.

Hi all do you mind if i join?

I was wondering what it would take for Oprah and the Clooneys to turn on Meghan. There is all this stuff in the press about them easing their way into hollywood but given the track record its bound to happen at some point.

I feel sorry for Harry. He's probably going to regret this in a year or so when they do the royal review of their earnings. They are news now but the media is fickle, 5 years from now what will they actually have to sell?

I think there's a photo of the queens grandfather lying in state with his four sons, one at each corner of the coffin. I'm in work on the worst phone ever so can't find it... I'm not slacking at work, just minding the phone for someone out ill.

I wonder if people would have supported a move to Africa more than this?
It would have looked less grabby I suppose although I can't see Meghan living there to be honest , but it had been mentioned in the past. ( well, it was in the Daily Mail once) and Harry seems to like it there.

I thought the queen's grandparents (paternal) had 2 sons only. i.e. the Queen's father who died and the fella who abdicated?

How is this fella a first cousin? Surely she has no first cousins on her father's side if the fella who abdicated had no children?

So it must be from the Queen's maternal side?

I've just been listening to a radio phone in and most people seemed to be supporting Meghan and Harry. Somehow with his speech last night he's convinced people that they wanted to stay but have been driven out. People are sorry for them. It's completely at odds with what they actually want, which is to be part time royals and free to make money the rest of the time (from being royal). And to only have favourable press.

I guess we don't know how feasible or practical (security etc) it would have been for him to move to Africa, however I do think it would have gone down better with public perception yes, because it would have been in alignment with work he was already doing and passionate about.

Princess Michael married into the family. She is married to Prince Michael of Kent who is the first cousin of the Queen and the first cousin once removed of Prince Philip.
