I also have a flu type illness. I have had it for over a week and still feel like shit.

Also think PA is a shit as well, so whilst criticising Mememeghan ,don't think I have forgotten about PA either.
I'm not a fan of the monarchy, but am feeling sorry for HM. 93 and she's having to sort kerfuffles with her children and grandchildren.
Apparently PP left before the meeting as he is a loose cannon..Grin

AlexaAmbidextra · 19/01/2020 17:08

Imagine being part of a family that have rules you have to live by ...i would have fucked off long ago

Well presumably, in that case you wouldn’t have knowingly entered the family in the first place?

DuchessofWoke · 19/01/2020 17:12

The comment about them running out royals... I think so long as the monarch (or heir) has at least three children, they’re in the clear. The trouble with two is that you run the risk of one being a loose cannon and deserting you! Three offers a safety net.

SeperatedSwans · 19/01/2020 17:14

My family has rules. One is, and I kid you not "don't upset nan" 🤣 even if you disagree with her, you don't say it. She's from a different generation some views are outdated but you don't argue with her. She's literally the head of our family of which 4 generations are in existence, we also sometimes get a crossover of 5 generations every 20years or so.

peridito · 19/01/2020 17:16

There seems to be a consensus on these threads about H&M's behaviour but a great deal has been said and repeated .

If agreement of view about someone = little to say ,I don't think there would be 10,000 + comments .

Many of the issues that have appeared on these threads and that have been discussed at length are issues that arose with PA

monetising his position as a Royal
having celeb friends
how his actions effected the Queen and other close members of the RF
whether he was representing the Queen or not when carrying out visits
using tax payers money to fund his life style
whether or not his spouse was suitable
whether his spouse was in the marriage for money /fame

I'm just surprised by the volume of comments re H&M as compared to the volume generated by PA .

Chelsy and Cressida did just that. They looked behind the curtain and realised that life wasn’t for them.

Barbarella1 · 19/01/2020 17:16

He’s still a Prince and still 6th in line. It’s only the HRH that is being dropped because they won’t be carrying out royal duties.

SirChing · 19/01/2020 17:17

@MyBlueMoonbeam Thank you. I hope you feel better soon. I had the lurgy over new year and it's dreadful isn't it? Flowers

SirChing · 19/01/2020 17:19

There were loads of Prince Andrew threads at the time. I remember ranting on those too! Grin

SpanishLady · 19/01/2020 17:28

Think you are also forgetting there has been years and years of media and comment on PA

ElloBrian · 19/01/2020 17:45

The timing of the William affair rumours hitting the press is extremely suspicious. I strongly suspect the falling out between the brothers last year had something to do with it. There is plenty of evidence that Meghan has been playing the briefing game with the press since she got involved with Harry.

SymphonyofShadows · 19/01/2020 17:45

I thought PA showing up at church was ill-considered, especially considering the RF were doing well in public opinion after last night.

I did find the comment from Harry about “not just Scar” quite funny. The person I most feel sorry for in all this though is Chelsy Davy. Family has a few quid but she couldn’t cope with all the royal stuff. This must be quite a bitter pill for her.

annielouise · 19/01/2020 17:45

There were also a number of days where the public was in limbo, not knowing what was going to happen, lots of views and speculation on threads like this marking time, wondering how it was going to work. That boosted up the number of threads versus PA too.

Wauden · 19/01/2020 17:47

I imagine that HMQ was with PA at church for, you know, purely religious reasons. I think she might not have thought about the image side of things.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 19/01/2020 17:49

Cressida is engaged and Chelsey is very happy. I think they’re fine.

Lordfrontpaw · 19/01/2020 17:53

I think the exes are fine too - suggestion was that Harry had proposed to one or two and they turned him down. I’m sure they are breathing a sigh of relief at how this is turning out.

SeperatedSwans · 19/01/2020 17:53

Sunset but has anyone asked them if they are ok? Maybe they are just surviving not thriving 🤣

SymphonyofShadows · 19/01/2020 17:54

Doubt it Waulden, or why would he have scuttled off to earlier services until now? I think it was intentional and part of the ‘family’ part of the Queen’s message

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 19/01/2020 17:54

Yes, I'm sure he would have told OH exactly what he thought of him and Meghan but I think the reason he left was more that:

  1. He has retired.
  2. It is reported he is largely bed-ridden and cannot manage to hold a conversation for more than 10 minutes without becoming exhausted.
  3. He wanted to get back to his own bed at Wood House in the grounds of Sandringham.
SymphonyofShadows · 19/01/2020 17:54

Sorry about the unrequired ‘L’ ^

MeghanMountbattenSausage · 19/01/2020 17:55

Some woman on radio saying that H&M are loved in the USA and there are many corporations with deep pockets and they will make millions?

Will people really be lining up to throw money at them? For WHAT exactly? PH couldn't sell diamonds if they were free and is no public speaker.

Do you think that HM has left the door open for the RF to "veto" some of the "deals" if they look like they might bring the RF into disrepute?

Will PC still be happy to bung money at them and deal with the outrageous bills that keep coming his way if they are earning all this dosh? And what happens if he cuts them off and in a few years the deals dry up?

What was it someone else on here said "only so many jobs for a 40+ actresses in Hollywood" or something?

DuchessofWoke · 19/01/2020 17:56

Oh yes. Cressida is engaged to a very dishy aristocrat and is getting good acting work.

I suspect Chelsey feels very sad for Harry and how everything turned out. They were so close.

SymphonyofShadows · 19/01/2020 17:57

Isn’t PH a much more natural public speaker than PW, with more charisma? Not the off the cuff stuff necessarily, but he’s far better ‘on stage’.

RUOK · 19/01/2020 18:01

I feel sorry for the Queen treading a fine line and trying to do the right thing by country and family and everything being so open to interpretation.

I take her having PA by her side as giving out the message that he was used to party going but now he's church going. She's got him on a short lead. This is where he is and this is what he's up to.

It makes me uneasy to see PH and his family accepting bounteous hospitality from a mysterious and undisclosed source, ask Andrew all about that one.

I'm sure his behaviour is condemned without exception, but people must be mindful of current and future court cases.

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 19/01/2020 18:01

Not to do with Nicole Cliffe making it up as a story behind the reason Kate fell out with Rose Hanbury? She has since stated that she was perhaps guilty of "personal editorialising".

There is plenty of evidence that Meghan has been playing the briefing game with the press since she got involved with Harry.
Is there? I didn't know that (well I perhaps assumed it about the two recent visits to charities in Vancouver). Where is the evidence she has done this before?
