Just seeing if there’s any interest. I think they have their faults but I think this may turn out to be a good thing long term. Anyone want to join in?

For Bea’s sake, I hope she stays away.

drina27 · 22/02/2020 17:20

She has already had enough to deal with.

meercat23 · 22/02/2020 17:23

It looks as if the wedding will be low key and mostly private. Short distance from the chapel to BP and no carriage ride and no TV coverage so I think the presence or absence of H&M or anyone else will not be very obvious unless it is specifically announced

LaurieMarlow · 22/02/2020 17:27

It doesn’t matter what she does, there’ll be plenty finding fault with her regardless.

What a shit situation to be in.

TheMustressMhor · 22/02/2020 17:29

When Princess Eugenie got married, Prince Andrew had a lot of trouble persuading the TV companies to cover it.

It would be best all round if Princess Beatrice's wedding is low-key as far as coverage is concerned. Obviously she and her husband can have as big a party as they want. it just won't be televised.

Samcro · 22/02/2020 17:30

Looking online i see the hate has ramped up again, so i hope they stay away for their sakes.
Also bea has enough to contend with daddy.

TheMustressMhor · 22/02/2020 17:39

There's no hate from me, Samcro.

LaurieMarlow · 22/02/2020 17:39

I’m sure there’s no chance at all of this wedding being televised. However, it will be difficult to keep the press away entirely.

katiegoestoaldi · 22/02/2020 17:52

No hate from me either. I can separate behaviour from the person themself. Her behaviour has always been off and I predicted things wouldn't work out for them. I didn't expect it this quickly though

Encyclo · 22/02/2020 17:54

They're always going to be painted at the bad guys in every scenario whatever they do.

Roussette · 22/02/2020 18:13

I've seen press saying if they don't go, they're selfish. But the circus and criticism if they do go would be unbearable for them. At best, Harry should go on his own, at least that way MM can't be criticised. Oh hang on... yes she will be

Cerseirys · 22/02/2020 18:17

I imagine Beatrice's wedding will be much like the recent Kent daughter's - we'll see arrivals and photos afterwards but that'll be it. Interesting that her fiancé, not married before but with a young child, hasn't received half as much scrutiny as Meghan did in the run up to their wedding but of course he's a man!

peridito · 22/02/2020 18:52

Katie if you're talking about H & M ,I don't think things have gone wrong for them ,let alone "this quickly" .

Very few photos of them ,they seem to be managing to keep out of the limelight . Their position in the RF has been clarified and although some in the media seem to be trying to paint them as outraged by stuff like changing the name of the website I've seen no evidence of this .

They seem to have got what they wanted ,a lower profile .

katiegoestoaldi · 22/02/2020 18:59

I think Mapelli has had less scrutiny as he's not an actor so less red carpet photos to plunder and H&M were responsible for a lot of the media storm surrounding them, the unprecedented statement he put out, her hints on social media etc. Beatrice and her fiance have kept their relationship low key

katiegoestoaldi · 22/02/2020 19:00

I notice the pap shots and charity photo ops have stopped since Harry returned to Canada Peridito and what have they achieved out of their original aims set out in their statement after visiting Canada House? They've had to make so many changes to their website, it's certainly not working out how they wanted it to

LaurieMarlow · 22/02/2020 19:09

I notice the pap shots have stopped since Harry returned to Canada

I’m sure they’re really pleased to be left in peace and both look so much happier in recent photos. The move certainly seems to be working out for them

LaurieMarlow · 22/02/2020 19:19

Historically, women marrying into the royal family have have FAR more press scrutiny. Diana, Fergie, Kate, then Meghan.

Think what Mike Tindell got away with as a comparison point for starters.

The misogyny is appalling. Then for Meghan we have racism and anti Americanism thrown into the mix.

peridito · 22/02/2020 19:37

Yes they've updated their website as they said they would .

I'm not sure so many changes have been made ,but really so what .

The main change seems to be the name and I don't really see that having a massive effect on them . It won't be them having to do the admin involved and I can't see how it will change their day to day life.

They're together as a family with less press intrusion .

WinnieTheW0rm · 23/02/2020 09:20

I notice the pap shots have stopped since Harry returned to Canada

Except they haven't - or doesn't Harry being papped count?

Does anyone know when information about the new entity will be released? Immediatelymafter last Royal engagements (final one 9 March) or early April (after 'official step back/new public sector accounting Year)?

Encyclo · 23/02/2020 09:52

It only counts as a "pap walk" if Meghan is the one caught on camera apparently.

I think the Palace are coming across as really petty in this process. They really have cut them loose with a "sink or swim on your own" attitude. I feel really sorry for them actually.

They initially just wanted to step back a bit. 6 weeks later they're no longer allowed to refer to themselves as Royal. They must be punch drunk.

Samcro · 23/02/2020 09:57

they don't come across as a nice family (the RF) you would think they would love and support Harry in his life.
imagine a thread on here about your Granny punishing you for not wanting to work for her anymore. I imagine the poster would be told to go NC.

Encyclo · 23/02/2020 10:00

I agree.

Makes me remember that story about Diana when she had HRH taken away and she was crying. William told her that when he was King he'd give it back to her.

katiegoestoaldi · 23/02/2020 13:37

But the RF aren't your average family, even M would have known that before meeting Harry. I think HM has learned her lesson with PA, if you're going to be Royal you have to be careful who you associate with and who could exploit that. M&H have already been involving themselves with big banks in the US who aren't known for their ethics. M has shown she doesn't know or care how the RF works so how can they trust her? They said on their website the causes they choose will speak for themselves, but they've only showed us the banks so far. They could cause a massive scandal, and if they did M would be able to walk away with the blender and the RF would be left to clean up and hopefully survive the mess

Good on Her Maj IMO

Samcro · 23/02/2020 13:42

even your non average family should support each other. treating them like this shows how the RF put the "job" before supporting each other.

iVampire · 23/02/2020 14:03

We have no idea what personal support has been shown

In terms of stepping back, there has been no move to stop them. Half in/half out was ruled out, and that is a reasonable stance which the Sussexes have accepted in their most recent statement.

It’s a bit of a awkward limbo now until they announce what the ‘entity’ will be like.

Friends are leaking that personally the couple is very happy
