Just seeing if there’s any interest. I think they have their faults but I think this may turn out to be a good thing long term. Anyone want to join in?

i see the PC has been hypocritical and used a private helicopter to get to a talk on using planes less(think i have that right had just woken up when saw it)
where is the out cry? yet M &H were ripped a part.
seems all the other royals have a free pass.

LaurieMarlow · 02/02/2020 12:04

It’s the ‘one rule for H&M, one rule for the rest of the royals’ phenomenon.

It’s absolutely blatant.

Cerseirys · 02/02/2020 12:46

Blatant and batshit @LaurieMarlow. Remember when Harry "pontificated" about only having 2 kids? Only he wasn't pontificating at all - he was just responding jokingly to a comment, also lighthearted, from a noted environmentalist. Meanwhile William actually lectured about overpopulation while Kate was pregnant with their third yet where was all the condemnation for him at the time?

peridito · 15/02/2020 09:35

Just popping in to say that I'm glad there is less in the press about H&M .

A visit to a University ,the media havn't been able to publish much detail other than something about brainstorming .And the closure of an office at Buck Pal .No photos of them .Nothing .

So ,their wish for a more peaceful life seems to be becoming true.

Encyclo · 16/02/2020 09:23

They look so happy in recent pics. Harry in particular. Good luck to them.

Cerseirys · 16/02/2020 10:10

Agree @Encyclo, so much for the "Meghan makes him miserable" narrative. It's always been clear to me that the reason he looked tense over the past year was because the press have bullied his wife quite relentlessly.

Encyclo · 16/02/2020 10:16

And me. Harry must've been completely bewildered by the hate. He's done right by his wife and child and for that he should be admired.

Mental heath is paramount.

Cerseirys · 16/02/2020 10:22

I see that MNHQ have finally called time on the endless negative threads about the couple too.

Encyclo · 16/02/2020 10:25

Yep, saw that. Not before time.

Aridane · 16/02/2020 10:59

Oh, @Cerseirys - long overdue! (And in which case I am happy for H and M that a site that purports to support parents has - finally - called time on the sustained personal and defamatory attacks on Meghan

Can you link to the MNHQ statement?

SetPhasersTaeMalkie · 16/02/2020 11:06

Here is the message -

Message from MNHQ: Hi all,

It's really not on to speculate on the welfare of a baby in this way - if he's alive etc.

Not only that, but this thread has just become a total bunfight.

We're deleting the whole thing now, and think it's best everyone takes a step back for a while, whilst things cool off

LovingLola · 16/02/2020 11:09

Wtf !!!!

I don't think MN approves of discussing threads that are deleted .Though I find it hard to follow their moderation ,it seems very variable .

Roussette · 16/02/2020 11:55

Good grief! I kept off those threads over the last few weeks, I was sick to death of sticking up for H&M and challenging ridiculous statements and was close to losing my temper which wouldn't be pretty
Grin

Piers Morgan is still sticking the knife in... someone did a picture of all the articles he has written on them in the Fail with more coming up... it was gobsmacking. He needs to fuck right off, especially now... given the sad sad death of Caroline Flack. The press have a lot to answer for especially pond life like him

LilyMumsnet · 16/02/2020 11:56

Hi all,

Just a quick note to say that if this turns into a TAAT, we will delete it. Best to stop mentioning the other thread now.

peridito · 16/02/2020 12:02

Although OTOH there's lots of discussion over on Mustress's thread in chat so perhaps MNHQ don't mind ? Who knows ,it seems pointless to try and figure out what parameters we are meant to post within .

I do wonder about "bun fight" though - is it posters arguing amongst themselves ? Why is that wrong/deletion of thread necessary?

I can't see any clarification on the guidelines

peridito · 16/02/2020 12:03

I see MN trying to be even handed and that they've posted over on Mustress's thread .

DaveCoaches · 16/02/2020 12:04

Now Meghan’s half (?) brother is stepping up. Christ that family never stop!

OK.... ooopsie... noted Lily
Smile

Back to the thread.... I agree Harry looks like he's had the weight of the world lifted off his shoulders. I'm sure they're much happier doing their own thing now.

SenecaFallsRedux · 16/02/2020 12:11

In the recent pictures of them getting off the plane, they really do look happy. I know it's just a brief snapshot of their lives, and they knew that they were being photographed, but it's not just the smiles, but also the body language. I hope it all works out well for them and for little Archie.

PortiaCastis · 16/02/2020 12:13

Yes, I agree Harry looks very happy and I'm pleased for him and his little family

Encyclo · 16/02/2020 12:43

It's interesting how people are conflating the treatment of Meghan in the media and online with the suicide of CF.

Could this mean that the likes of Piers Morgan's obsessive rants will no longer be tolerated?

I do hope more people speak up and voice their disgust.

Roussette · 16/02/2020 13:06

I hope so too. PM has linked on Twitter to yet another piece he is writing about H&M... he is a bully and his faux outrage at being called one is pathetic

Samcro · 16/02/2020 13:21

i was thinking about all this earlier. I think M&H did the right thing. he is 6th (I think) in line to the throne. his child Like him will grow up thinking he is less than his cousin. not a good start for any child.
add in Meghan will always be seen as second best to Kate......its all so unhealthy.
I do think the queen should step down and let Charles have the job. she deserves some time off. Charles is 70 so if left much longer he will be past it.
