Does anyone want a thread for people who are happy for Harry and Meghan?

Just seeing if there’s any interest. I think they have their faults but I think this may turn out to be a good thing long term. Anyone want to join in?

Of course Encyclo. Do hope you're OK.

The father is horrible, he would've been NCd years ago by MN standards

Encyclo · 27/01/2020 15:08

I'm good thanks Rousette

I'm baffled as to why anyone could defend him at this point. His behaviour has been shocking and it's getting worse by the day.

No way will he stick to his 30 day threat. He'll be back before the week is out releasing more and more private letters, pictures and texts. All for love of a dollar.

I am happy for Meghan that she has a mother who exudes quiet dignity, support and discretion.

I am happy for Meghan that she has had the courage to go no contact with her odious apology of a father (and step siblings).

I wish her and Harry well in their actions against the British press

Who is the grubby little turd? Actually, don't answer, they both are so it's an irrelevant question!

I am very happy for them. I knew she was going to have a rough time the moment I saw how the press kept going on about her mother being descended from slaves. Why was that worth repeating? Then the Daily Fail reporting that she was from Compton when she wasn’t, trying to push the Afro-American stereotype.

She was used as a distraction. Anytime, she made some type of headline, there was something the press was trying to distract the public from. I’m glad they realised it wasn’t worth it for either of them and find it ridiculous how many people can’t/won’t see why this choice was not surprising. What decent spouse would sit back and watch the person they love be scrutinised in such a way, especially after seeing their mother and other women in their lives endured the same and being privy to the consequences. I doubt most upset by their choice would want to be a royal and be placed under that level of scrutiny.

I also find it strange some of these people would want a third failed royal marriage. Probably the same type of people who are still hoping Brad and Jen get back together 🙄.

I think she entered the RF thinking on some level that she’d be an equal or a star in her own right as she was already established when she met Harry.

She was obviously at the bottom of the pecking order and I think they tried to show her her place.

They both haven’t helped them selves though, some of the choices they have made have been reckless and easily invited criticism. Some of there insta comments have been hideous I’m surprised the account is still active!

They should both disappear of the radar for a bit for their kids sake but I don’t think she will. I think she will try and prove they haven’t beaten her and so the circus continues.

I do hope the kids are n

Wrong thread Wendy

DaveCoaches · 27/01/2020 21:03

I think that should be the standard MN response to trolls/derailers Rebel

“wrong thread Wendy” Grin

Could become a standard !

I did wonder if this thread being moved would lead to people derailing.

Jenzenn · 27/01/2020 21:59

I find it interesting that the people running H&M (or rather Meghan) down are generally just moaning about their privileged lifestyle over anything else.

There’s this common theme coming through that they should just put up with the abuse. And the reason is? Because they’re rich, so how dare they complain.

Lifestyle envy. Green eyed monster..

LaMarschallin · 27/01/2020 22:25

I didn't notice that it had been moved until now, but I had wondered why it hadn't been started on "The Royal Family" board in the first place.

There'd been a lot of lobbying to move the notorious 14-threader here so that all those royal family threads wouldn't clog up the main boards and attract undue attention, so I assumed subjects specifically dealing with the RF would be on the RF board.

It got moved fairly soon after starting. I hadn’t realised there was a royal family board otherwise I wouldn’t have started a thread in Chat.

I didn't mean to criticise you.

It's just that the 14-thread MM & H topic got nagged and nagged at about starting in AIBU (I think because it made it too prominent) and eventually the OP asked for a move to RF.

Since there were mutual posters, at that time, between those threads and this, I was surprised that a similar move wasn't requested.

Still. Here we are anyway.

FramboiseRoyale · 27/01/2020 22:50

MNHQ came on to say they were going to move it, but it didn't happen for several days.

DaveCoaches · 27/01/2020 22:53

No you weren’t LaM all good Smile

It’s probably better over here as there’s less traffic.

FramboiseRoyale · 27/01/2020 22:55

Also in RF it shows up as an antidote to some of the nastiness on the other threads.

LaMarschallin · 27/01/2020 23:06

Oh, that's a relief: I thought my memory was going (I mean, it might be, but...).

Well, you'd hope so. I'm not sure it's proved to be the case. It's obviously a very emotive subject and I suspect that anyone reading my posts (ie nobody) thinks I'm either an MM "basher" or "lover". Because you have to be one or the other, it seems.

As it happens, I'm a bit cynical about her motives but also slightly worried about those who will believe anything bad about her.

There's no thread for the doubting Thomases.

SeasideChloe · 27/01/2020 23:16

Hi.
Can I ask what do you mean by this? Her motives for what?
