Harry and Meghan Resigning (Act 6 Scene 2) Is Everyone Okay?

This is Thread Eight in a series which I did not imagine would last more than one.

Meghan's friends are now writing on social media that she has been fortunate to "escape the clutches" of the Royal Family.

We, who care enough for the Queen that we are appalled by Meghan's blatant disrespect for the Crown (and the family which embraced her) are still reeling as we go from revelation to revelation. This bizarre and unprecedented situation has unfolded over a period of just eight days.

We are now beginning to see what Meghan's likely agenda was. It seems that abandoning the UK was her plan even prior to the wedding - a wedding which cost the British people £20,000,000.

Not many people actually begrudged paying that £20,000,000. But some were prescient enough to say that the marriage would not last and that Meghan would abandon this country once she had a child.

She has. She has fulfilled those prognostications amply.

It was just rather...quicker than perhaps we had imagined...…. and a good deal more brutal. Cries of "racism" have abounded - cries which are simply not justified.

What will happen next? Meghan has gone to Canada, a country which does not seem particularly keen to foot the huge bill for security which her presence requires. She is dropping in on charities for disadvantaged women, almost unannounced, without the backing or knowledge of Buckingham Palace. It is cringeworthy and embarrassing in the extreme.

Prince Harry seems to be lost in the maelstrom of public opinion. What will happen next? Will Meghan announce a second pregnancy?

And is the RF okay?

OMG that Daily Mail youtube video about Meghan with a colleague from Deal or No Deal! Surely that's the sort of thing that you can sue for or ask to be taken off the intranets if it is untrue? Just wondering how that is still up.

@Happysummer2020 - he hasn’t lost his father, grandparents and brother . He’s spending some time in another country. It’s 25 years since I’ve lived in the same country as my parents and sister but we’re still a close family.

Oldbutstillgotit · 18/01/2020 13:29

Tom Bradby has an article in the Times . Pretty clear he is M and H’s mouthpiece .
Although no one has asked , I am ok .

WineOrGinOrBoth · 18/01/2020 13:29

If & its a big if MM has a marriage that was annulled then as far as I can remember then it doesn’t count as a valid marriage. So her marriage to TE would be her first marriage. IYSWIM

Anyway everyone ok?

Parker - of course he is losing his family. I can’t see it ending well.

MissEliza · 18/01/2020 13:32

Does anyone remember the strange comment from Harry about giving MM the family she never had? I can't quite remember the exact words but it felt strange at the time.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 18/01/2020 13:33

I feel dead sorry for Camilla who will now have to work a bit harder

I wouldn't orry too much; it's probably not for nothing she was once called "the laziest woman in England"

Of course, the missed visits and leaving-tours-early she goes in for now might just be a natural consequence of getting older ... or then again, it might not

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 18/01/2020 13:33

Will talks be going on over the weekend regarding their future life in Canada? It has been stated they are deadlocked, so, unless one side gives (come on, Harry, do the right thing and relinquish your title, Frogmore Cottage and right to destroy trade on the family name) how will talks achieve anything?

I think HMQ will have to step in and take a hard line with them if the talks are going nowhere. Come on your Maj, I mean ma'am.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 18/01/2020 13:33

Worry, not "orry" ... duuhhh Blush

GlorianaCervixia · 18/01/2020 13:39

Yes, I remember the “family she never had” comment. Very awkward. As it turns out, he’s getting the family life she had - fractured and resentful.

phpolly · 18/01/2020 13:39

Jeans do you have a link to that video? I've just tried searching on the DM site and can't find anything.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 18/01/2020 13:43

Obviously, I'm also keen to know if every other poster/lurker is ok, as I'd hate for you not to live, love, thrive and survive due to my not asking.

I'm OK @LaMarschallin, hope you are too. Yesterday is done with, today's another day Smile

JeansNTees · 18/01/2020 13:46

This one polly.

JeansNTees · 18/01/2020 13:46

from 1:47 I think.

JeansNTees · 18/01/2020 13:47

2:12 even

strictlymomdancing · 18/01/2020 13:49

No way are they moving to that house. Imagine all the paparazzi in boats outside. they'd have to keep the blinds closed permanently.

When are we getting that 'imminent announcement'?

GlitchStitch · 18/01/2020 13:50

The woman on that video seemed massively unimpressed with the fairytale narrative didn't she.

OVienna · 18/01/2020 13:53

I really don't understand how talks can be "deadlocked" unless it's a question of what PC will pay. They can't dictate their terms to the Queen and the ministers that will have to sign off on an agreement regarding security and use of titles commercially. I wonder if it's more : here is what's on offer, take it or leave it. I really hope they arent given a blank cheque.

GlitchStitch · 18/01/2020 13:55

I wonder if security is the sticking point because nobody wants to pay it?

The80sweregreat · 18/01/2020 13:58

Who would want to pay for the security! If it gets put out that the U.K. are paying there will be uproar. The Canadians are not keen either ( don't blame them , why should they?)

crispysausagerolls · 18/01/2020 13:59

The woman on the video sounded a bit like she was on something though

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 18/01/2020 13:59

Can someone explain why she was given a necklace? It seems a bit odd.

WineOrGinOrBoth · 18/01/2020 14:00

If they are given a blank cheque then the RF are foolish. But as far I’m concerned it’s effectively blackmail by H & M.

diddl · 18/01/2020 14:06

Yeah, it's strange to me how it's all taking so long.

They must know where they will be living, how much that costs, some ideas of definite work/income, so probably security.
