Harry and Meghan Resigning (Act 6 Scene 2) Is Everyone Okay?

This is Thread Eight in a series which I did not imagine would last more than one.

Meghan's friends are now writing on social media that she has been fortunate to "escape the clutches" of the Royal Family.

We, who care enough for the Queen that we are appalled by Meghan's blatant disrespect for the Crown (and the family which embraced her) are still reeling as we go from revelation to revelation. This bizarre and unprecedented situation has unfolded over a period of just eight days.

We are now beginning to see what Meghan's likely agenda was. It seems that abandoning the UK was her plan even prior to the wedding - a wedding which cost the British people £20,000,000.

Not many people actually begrudged paying that £20,000,000. But some were prescient enough to say that the marriage would not last and that Meghan would abandon this country once she had a child.

She has. She has fulfilled those prognostications amply.

It was just rather...quicker than perhaps we had imagined...…. and a good deal more brutal. Cries of "racism" have abounded - cries which are simply not justified.

What will happen next? Meghan has gone to Canada, a country which does not seem particularly keen to foot the huge bill for security which her presence requires. She is dropping in on charities for disadvantaged women, almost unannounced, without the backing or knowledge of Buckingham Palace. It is cringeworthy and embarrassing in the extreme.

Prince Harry seems to be lost in the maelstrom of public opinion. What will happen next? Will Meghan announce a second pregnancy?

And is the RF okay?

The couture was a mixture of paid for by Prince Charles or the foreign office if it was a tour.
There were rumours a while back that her “stylist” Jessica Mulroney was getting clothes for free for Meghan, and Charles Office was still being billed for them and Meghan and Jessica were splitting and picketing the cash.
Would explain why so many of the clothes were Ill fitting and she wore a lot of rewears in Africa. I bet clothes from the NZ tour were sold.
She knew by the time of the Africa tour / documentary they were going.

Interesting the pp who said the National Enquirer is sometimes bang on the money, I assumed everything they posted was nonsense.

The picture of her alleged first wedding is a strange one, she looks like a bride standing in the middle of her bridesmaids. It was pointed out that it could be a prom photo but then why would all her friends be matching? I think there is alot that will eventually come out about her past once she no longer has the 'royal protection'.

Sometimes estate agents make up stories that celebs are looking at houses to drum up interest. My dps live in an upmarket leafy suburb and over the years we've heard many rumours about footballers or tv personalities looking at some of the big houses for sale. They rarely turn out to be true.

There is a photo claiming to be Meghan with her bridesmaids, it was shared on twitter and apparently Samantha Markle retweeted it. It could be a sweet sixteen, prom or anything, who knows.

I hope their titles are stripped, their behaviour has been so abysmal that leaving their titles just shows the Royal Family to be pointless. They and Andrew's behaviour has been internationally embarrassing and if an employee sullied the reputation of the Company they worked for to such a degree they would be fired.I

The royal family allowing it shows that they are no longer an asset to the UK and should be removed. I am interested to see what they decide about the next deal as I think giving in to the demands would signal the end of the RF.

Harry has probably never even considered it as being a member of the RF, he’d always have somewhere to live

This is the issue for RF members who aren't the Queen. They don't own the major assets such as the grand apartments and houses - they get them on a long lease from HM and many of the assets such as the Duchy of Cornwall cannot be sold.

I remember being a little surprised that Diana only got £17 million in the divorce - of course it is a lot of money - but not a Hollywood/ Oligarch amount when you consider the lands and houses that PC has at his disposal. PC does not own most of the houses or lands.

This may be an issue for H&M - I don't think that H has ever had to consider accommodation costs as he has always been provided with free homes. They cannot sell or rent out Frogmore and I doubt if PC will be funding a $20 million home for them.

Princess Madeleine of Sweden has also had to significantly downsize her housing ambitions since she "stepped back" (her husband hated the press). They have ended up in a rented home in a gated community near Miami.

I saw a video of the producer of the tv programme “deal or no deal”, when she was a ’suitcase girl’, saying she had already had a child.

Reminds me of those threads where you itemise your emergency grab bag.

There’s a photo of me, dressed bridally with flanking matched attendants. Not a secret first marriage: amateur dramatics. So I wouldn’t trust that a picture of an actor came from their RL either

Good point iVampire although the story of a secret first marriage were reported prior to this photo. Like you say could be anything though.

I think the fact that she appears to have been caught out lying about other issues makes people think there is more to some of the rumours- such as making a speech about how she struggled to put herself through college but her father now appears to have provided evidence to the court case that he paid her tuition.

I think it looks more like a theatre show due to the girl next to her wearing wings and holding a butterfly wand.

Surely there would be a record of a prior marriage ? Friends would know too ? Not an easy thing to hush up.

Apparently it was annulled and there are reports of the papers floating about somewhere. I only heard about this alleged marriage on another thread the other day so I've been having a look, it's a rumour that's been circulating for a long while it seems. I agree it would be difficult to hush up. I do though think she has a tendency to 'reinvent' herself though and erase her history to suit so nothing would surprise me.

Think of how many times a Brad and Angelina marriage was reported over the years though and when you looked closely the photo of them in wedding dress etc was from Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

I really think the press would have reported on her supposed annulled marriage by now if it had really happened. Similarly if she had a child too.

I think Highgrove is possibly the only major property that is unquestionably his to do as he pleases with. He inherited Castle of Mey and Birkhall from the QM, but Mey is now owned by a trust, and Birkhall was part of the Balmoral estate, so probably wouldn't be sold or bequeathed outside the RF.

The CEO of the Justice for Girls charity has confirmed that the text and images published about her visit were first sent to Meghan's team for her to approve. As if anyone was in any doubt that this was a photo op for her.

I find the last two photos of her really strange, why is she wearing her old pre marriage clothes? Nothing wrong with wearing old clothes, we all wear years old clothes, but Did she leave suddenly And didn’t take any of her clothes in the UK, also the weight difference between her last appearance in UK and refuge visit is quite a lot, she wasn’t this thin at Canada house visit. Are these old pictures?

And I genuinely hope Harry is putting two and two together: the only think linking MMs ‘toxic’ families in the US and now the UK is her

I seem to recall either MM or PH saying that the royal family was her new family ... but she’s kind of treating her new family much like the old

Not having your own home when she was earning money on Suits is interesting.

She must have got some money from her first divorce from Trevor as well.
