Harry and Meghan Resigning (Act 6 Scene 2) Is Everyone Okay?

This is Thread Eight in a series which I did not imagine would last more than one.

Meghan's friends are now writing on social media that she has been fortunate to "escape the clutches" of the Royal Family.

We, who care enough for the Queen that we are appalled by Meghan's blatant disrespect for the Crown (and the family which embraced her) are still reeling as we go from revelation to revelation. This bizarre and unprecedented situation has unfolded over a period of just eight days.

We are now beginning to see what Meghan's likely agenda was. It seems that abandoning the UK was her plan even prior to the wedding - a wedding which cost the British people £20,000,000.

Not many people actually begrudged paying that £20,000,000. But some were prescient enough to say that the marriage would not last and that Meghan would abandon this country once she had a child.

She has. She has fulfilled those prognostications amply.

It was just rather...quicker than perhaps we had imagined...…. and a good deal more brutal. Cries of "racism" have abounded - cries which are simply not justified.

What will happen next? Meghan has gone to Canada, a country which does not seem particularly keen to foot the huge bill for security which her presence requires. She is dropping in on charities for disadvantaged women, almost unannounced, without the backing or knowledge of Buckingham Palace. It is cringeworthy and embarrassing in the extreme.

Prince Harry seems to be lost in the maelstrom of public opinion. What will happen next? Will Meghan announce a second pregnancy?

And is the RF okay?

@yolofish
😂

Planeplane · 17/01/2020 17:34

Harry's not heading off to Canada yet then, wonder how long he'll stay here in the end. You'd think he'd be desperate to get back to be with Meghan and Archie.

Lordfrontpaw · 17/01/2020 17:34

Gimme the popcorn.

This is a bit like when my exsil fell of the wagon (again) and there were ‘family ‘
discussions’ at Paw Hall...

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 17/01/2020 17:35

I am not ok now. I don't know how I will survive, yet alone thrive, without knowing when security, titles and future finances issues will be sorted.

TheMustressMhor · 17/01/2020 17:36

@AutumnRose1

The "are you okay" references are due to Meghan's rather pathetic comment on the Africa documentary, that nobody asked her "if she was ok" - despite her being in a country where people face poverty, famine, starvation, lack of medical services, etc etc etc.

As ever - all about Meghan and her (perceived) problems and injustices.

I am currently ok, as is DH.

I have made a very wonderful Fish Pie for our dinner.

Yum Yum Yum Yum Yum.

Leeds Castle? LEEDS CASTLE??? I think you will find Catherine (dear dear Catherine) that it was built in the 1800s - unless you mean Leeds oop north unlike Leeds Castle in Kent, commonly described as the most beautiful castle in England! a bit after Catherine of Aragon's time - and now, she had something to really complain about. I wonder if anyone ever asked if she was ok?

TheMustressMhor · 17/01/2020 17:40

@fallen121

Any further correspondence from the Daily Record?

NotEverything, hold on in there. You won't have to wait long. You can do this, you know!

Great link by the way and did you clock the name of the journalist? Rory Tingle. That has to be a non-de-plume surely.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 17/01/2020 17:40

We're here for you @NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite. But remember (and I need to stress this quite vehemently) the most important thing isn't actually whether you're really ok or not. no.

It's whether people ask you if you're ok.

Ok?

Lordfrontpaw · 17/01/2020 17:41

Do we get to choose our own castle then? Can I choose a ruin and get you lot to do it up for me? Oh goody.

TheMustressMhor · 17/01/2020 17:42

When I married into the RF I was allowed to choose my own castle.

The Daily Record have remained silent @TheMustressMhor

Either they've rumbled me or they're waiting for me to call them on Monday!

SallyLovesCheese · 17/01/2020 17:43

I am not okay, I have a sore throat and a cold and no-one has asked me if I'm okay. Sad

H&M's logo is a swirly H and a swirly M together, so it's both at once.

The80sweregreat · 17/01/2020 17:43

I don't think that Meghan looks like a woman who is bothered about when it will all get sorted out!! She is too busy picking up her Pilates teacher and running about in gas guzzling cars whilst writing her thesis on Climate change! Because we're not doing ok and have to cut back on stuff ( well , other people have to cut back, she possibly can't )
These Pilate teachers don't mess about with trains or buses you know! They have ' the Duchess formally known as HRH Meghan ' to teach how to breath again. For a lot of money I bet!

kinsss · 17/01/2020 17:45

Apologies from a lurker. Loving the thread, then again everyone loves a bit of gossip surely?

Anyway, my feel for things is that a NDA is being concocted as we speak, in return for some financial support either from Madge or Charlie or both.

TBF they'd be mad not to include this in any "settlement". But I truly wonder if it could be enforced if say inside info reaches the Canadian/US tabloids about the REAL life with the Royal confines? Does anyone know?

There has to be give and take surely.

bohemia14 · 17/01/2020 17:46

I've already agreed with Her Majesty that I'm having Hever Castle. Otherwise I won't be ok.

Lordfrontpaw · 17/01/2020 17:46

Is she going to turn onto a Gwyneth Paltrow guru with all that woowoo nonsense? Steaming your nethers and quaffing pearl powder?

Butterymuffin · 17/01/2020 17:46

@TheMustressMhor Thanks for the clarification (pages and pages back now, I've been at work this afternoon!) that I hadn't said your criticism of Meghan's hair was racist. We can agree to disagree on styling opinions but I didn't want you (or any poster) thinking I'd accused them of racism when I hadn't.

@CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook you've absolutely nailed it with:
They know DAMN WELL that the success of their future plans is entirely incumbent upon being seen or at leastperceivedas Royals with access to senior Royalty.
This is exactly why I can't see for the life of me how this plan of theirs will work. Once out of the magic circle, their pulling power will fade rapidly.

And as for 'just got security, titles and finances to work out...' Hmm So nothing's sorted except the whereabouts of the dogs then!

The80sweregreat · 17/01/2020 17:48

Meghan will have a logo made for her. To be sewed on all the staff polo shirts and Pilates teacher leotards,
Harry .. nope , no logo for him. His not as important and really isn't ok. His 'H ' logo will be not be that visible to the naked eye anyhow.

Lordfrontpaw · 17/01/2020 17:48

They can always dish the royal dirt or hint that they will do. That should keep them going for a while.

yolofish · 17/01/2020 17:49

Do you think anyone has asked the dogs if they're ok??

Butterymuffin · 17/01/2020 17:49

@Lordfrontpaw apparently that Paltrow steaming news story was the most read piece on the Guardian in the last week (says Popbitch), beating even all their Sussexit reports. I don't understand the world sometimes. But it might encourage Meghan in there being an audience for such content...😖
