@Mummy195
They are doing what you wanted, now you are angry they are living. What you thought they would put up with this forever?
Most of us didn't want them to leave at all and are shocked by their leaving. I'm not angry they are leaving.
I'm disappointed:
- H&M have treated HM Queen with total disrespect by announcing their leaving as a fait accomplis and stating the terms on which their new lives would be lead on a website.
- H&M have displayed a lack of dignity by airing it in public. The correct way would have been to quietly work out the details behind the scenes and then for HMQ, PC, PW and PH to announce it together and provide the united front that shows they were all in agreement about the final outcome.
- PW just assumed he would be an internationally protected person and that, despite relinquishing the role, we would still pick up their security costs while they live in another country of their choosing.
- They want to still be financed by PC but not put in the royal work.
- They set up the Sussex Royal website in secret last March which means they hardly gave a chance to living as royals in the UK.
- A they planned it so long ago they could have talked through their plans then and by now it all would have been done and dusted.
- Their representatives have incorporated Meghan's company, Frim Fram Inc' (the one behind The Tig blog) in Delaware and transferred Frim Fram Inc California to it. Delaware is well known as a state where companies do not need to disclose ownership of a company or companies' financials and has extreme secrecy. The only reason for such set ups is for those companies to fail to disclose assets, income, profit etc. If it isn't disclosed it cannot be taxed. If you live in a country where there is double taxation because of where you derive your income, that country loses that taxation if it doesn't know you've earned money. The citizens of that country lose out.
- I'm angry that comments suggest we are a country of racists when it isn't true.
The media is pushing them out. Exposing the UK for the racist, xenophobic, misogynistic, closed minded, stuffy minds that they are. If anyone had suspicions during Brexit, now your media has confirmed it.
Wow. You need anger management.
I don't think the media is pushing H&M out. They were given positive headlines and were very welcoming when they married. In fact the newspapers supported Meghan and slagged off her father and it appears that he was the one who was telling the truth about their contact or lack of it.
I think H&M don't like being called out on their hypocritical behaviours and possibly lack of insight about them. You cannot preach about climate change and jump on private jets. You cannot visit a poor country where people often lack the basic necessities and then do an interview where you thank your journalist friend for asking how you are because not many people have. I don't think H&M should even have journalist friends.
Yes, there have been comments on articles written in newspapers which have apparently been racist (I haven't seen them myself but have seen some referred to on MN) but these aren't the views of the newspapers. I do, however, think that if racist comments on articles have been made, that the newpapers should delete them.
So now Canada will pick up the cup and run with it, showing that they are open minded and inclusive. With a born prince, thank you very much.
Canadian press seem to not want anyone living there who has a title. It seemingly goes against their constitution. Anyway, they only want to go there as a stop gap until they go to live in LA. That statement also shouldn't have been made by them as it is rather insulting to Canadian citizens. See, they have no insight.
The UK media has been trying an angle to make you feel better, implying that the Canada residents don't want to pay for the Sussex security. Most Canadians are not as stingy, mean, and petty as the UK, so they don't mind that much for the 2 cents going to them.
I think you will find it is the Canadian media which has stated this information and our press are just reporting on it. If Canadian citizens are happy to pick up the cost, I think you'll find that UK citizens would welcome that.
She looked to the past and tried to steer away from the same mistakes the took other spouses down. No toe sucking, no cheating (tampon gate), no duchess Doolittle, and you just berated her for it.
Give her a chance. She's only been a member of the RF for just over 18 months and for the last 2 months she's been on holiday. She's managed to create a bigger furore than any of the things you've mentioned.
