Previous thread

-Today Prince Harry is doing the draw for the Rugby League. (Not sure if it’s a public location but there’s bound to be a lot of press interest)

  • He has said he is going to stay in the UK for a bit longer to thrash out the details of “Megxit”
  • Meghan has been on a second surprise visit in Vancouver
  • Opinion coming out of Canada is that; not only do they not want to fund the Sussexes; having a member of the a Royal Family make Canada their permanent home is not acceptable.

I came across it on this video, around 8 mins in

SpinneyHill · 16/01/2020 14:12

Only lovely, genuine kind-hearted people get their photos taken in Women's charities you big cynical meanies.
Of course, because she's just that lovely and a feminist with genuine fears about the environment.
Being a former stripper who flies everywhere is irrelevant to how feministly concerned she is about the impact of humans on the lovely planet.

Well, I for one am convinced. I was wrong to suspect she was in any way narcissistic or capable of telling porkies.

Is everyone OK?

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 16/01/2020 14:13

Are you ok DandyandFine

Genuinely the flu is crap. Hope you get better soon and drink lots of lemsip

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 16/01/2020 14:13

I think in the light of the Globe editorial she might do well to keep a low profile for a bit.

Canada’s relationship with the RF is delicate, why is getting in their faces now? Her self promotion might have a bit helpful to the RF as a whole, and she’s a part of that.

I’m not sure she’s well advised there.

As for her climate awareness, sorry, but that’s a joke.

SpinneyHill · 16/01/2020 14:15

@Puzzledandpissedoff I'm going to hell for chuckling at your last sentence I'm sure of it.

notmoresheep · 16/01/2020 14:15

the companies house stuff, how funny would it be if all this was so they can step down from public life to run a take away in Glasgow?

MarySidney · 16/01/2020 14:17

She's signifying where she stands politically and outlining the sorts of concerns she/they will be involved with.

I would hope she/they will be told in no uncertain terms that they can't do that, both by HMQ and the Canadian govt. It's one thing to retire into private life. It's quite another to use their titles to take up causes and undertake unofficial public engagements. A lot of people wouldn't understand that they're not representing the Queen and the royal family. If they want any kind of public role, it has to be official, and coordinated with the Canadian govt and the RF.

Legwarmers · 16/01/2020 14:17

I glanced at this thread and by the 10th post - I am aghast and wondering why you are all so obsessed with Meghan and Harry - 6 threads is a bit sinister bordering on stalking in my opinion. Let them go - honestly in RL when you really despise someone as many of you seem to with Meghan - you don't spend your time trawling through their past present and future- but people usually take time to obsess about others when there Is not much else going on In Their own lives. Honestly do you really believe what you read in the papers / online - it's a game and you are all sucked into it. I'm some of you are or know journalists and know how the media system works - all the guesses and assumptions made about this young family is really horrific and I pity some of you more than M&H! Confused

Weedsnseeds1 · 16/01/2020 14:18

Richmond Street has University of Strathclyde campus on it, so I would suspect students and s smartphone with an annoying autocorrect function, possibly!

time4chocolate · 16/01/2020 14:19

This looks very odd, not least because Richblonde street doesn't exist in Glasgow!

Pretty sure '1 Richmond Sweet' or 'Richblonde Sweet' doesn't either - there was certainly some frantic activity with no time for proof reading! 😉

Froq · 16/01/2020 14:19

Apparently she claimed to have funded her own education yet the court papers show her dad sold his Facebook shares in order to pay for it and was still making payments whilst she worked on Suits.

I feel bad for him. Seems like he would have been a good person to keep on side, willing to plant positive stories on her and be used like many others in her life.

DandyAndFine · 16/01/2020 14:20

Catherine I will be ok thank you Wink

GlitchStitch · 16/01/2020 14:23

Apparently she claimed to have funded her own education yet the court papers show her dad sold his Facebook shares in order to pay for it and was still making payments whilst she worked on Suits.

I remember her speech where she talked about funding college through working and financial aid. This is really sad if true.

fallen121 · 16/01/2020 14:24

Has anyone seen the interesting, yet rather sinister, twitter account @ Torontopaper1

@Froq

I've just had a browse. That account is just WEIRD and as you say VERY disturbing. Also been going a while. I'm intrigued enough to follow, for now at least anyway. And 5,800 others are clearly equally as intrigued.

SpanishLady · 16/01/2020 14:25

Mummy195 - May I respond?

  1. They are doing what you wanted

What do you mean? Stepping back, moving to Canada or suggesting (at this point) to monetise their status, or cause unnecessary headlines for the RF? What did 'you' state we wanted that we got?

  1. You have a problem with them living

I think people have reasonably stated that they should do the job if they want all the perks, withdraw completely so while they don't get the perks they don't have to do the work or withdraw and work in a public capacity but one that is under their own merits and not one that could create a conflict of interest or is unappetising for the RF or British profile eg the sheik type scenario or doing the chat show circuit hawking stories about the RF/Britain

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 16/01/2020 14:26

I'm glad to know that Legwarmers at least seems to be concerned if we're all ok. The majority of the rest of you have been totally unconcerned!

SpinneyHill · 16/01/2020 14:27

It's worse than that
Mr Markle had supported the Claimant throughout her childhood and youth. He had paid her private school fees. He had paid all her college tuition, and after she left Northwestern University he continued to pay off her student loans, even after she had landed a well-paid role in Suits. After graduating, the Claimant went back to Los Angeles and her father found her an apartment and supported her financially while she looked for acting jobs. When the Claimant married for the first time in 2011, Mr Markle wanted to contribute to the cost of the wedding and so he sold his Facebook shares and contributed $20,000.

SpanishLady · 16/01/2020 14:29

Sorry mummy - you actually said ' angry they are living'

SpinneyHill · 16/01/2020 14:29

He must be absolutely devastated by this. What a kick in the teeth

TheMustressMhor · 16/01/2020 14:31

Can we all be careful not to let the thread get derailed, as it did for a while yesterday.

Also - you are all nasty bitches, as you did not ask me if I was okay.

MorningCalm · 16/01/2020 14:32

Do you think Thomas Markle will testify against his daughter? I personally don't think so.

TheMustressMhor · 16/01/2020 14:32

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook

I do hope, with all my heart, that you are okay, today, tomorrow and forever more.

GlitchStitch · 16/01/2020 14:32

Apparently Harry texted to tell him off after he had his heart attack. He hadn't even bothered to meet him, presumably swallowed Meghan's claims about the family she never had despite lots of gushing about him on the Tig, happy childhood photos from both sides of the family and an uncle who secured her an internship. He's a fool.

SingingLily · 16/01/2020 14:32

I also find it interesting that Mulroney apparently attempted to put pressure on Gina Cowne to 'amend' a statements she made to the MoS

Gina Nelthorpe-Cowne used to be MM's commercial agent and I recall reading an article about an interview with her some considerable time ago in which she said that very shortly after MM began dating Harry, MM confided that she and Harry "are going to change the world".

I thought the comment strange at the time because Harry was then fifth in line but increasingly less important constitutionally with each new Cambridge child.

I also thought that while Harry was clearly yearning for marriage and children of his own, he might do as William did and take his time, to make sure the ground was properly prepared if he found someone.

If Ms Cowne's recollection is correct, MM has been planning for a long time. That seems to me to be the significance.

Mustress, are you OK?

In fact, is everyone OK?

Just wanted to be sure.

yolofish · 16/01/2020 14:34

PP upthread said basically that there is no way back once the British public start taking the mick out of you (one?) So true.
