Heartbroken to say that Penelope had another funny turn/ seizure this morning. I thought the last one was a one off as she had made a full recovery very quickly. And I’d not seen any others. I took her to
the emergency vet after and She didn’t respond to midazolam. The vet thought it was likely to be a brain tumour. So did the only thing that could be done. She went very quickly and peacefully on my knee.

For such a tiny cat, with a daft long name, she was so sassy and sweet and affectionate. Just a lovely, lovely cat. Will miss your Pen.

Given that she spent two years living in a body suit and collar, I’d say she’s pretty placid!

Why was that?

InQuiresandplaceswheretheysing · 17/09/2026 22:23

She had skin issues. That are almost certainly untreated ringworm. Awaiting skin scrapes to confirm.

Poor little thing.

InQuiresandplaceswheretheysing · 18/09/2026 12:19

3 years today that Penelope came home. It’s just popped up on my time hop. Can’t believe I’m visiting another potential new cat on this day.

So this is the young lady I met yesterday. She’s absolutely perfect. She can’t come home for a couple of months as she has ringworm. But other than that is healthy.

Oh, what a sweet little girl! Does she have a name or will you have to think of one?

damemaggiescurledupperlip · 19/09/2026 09:08

Suzie, was it?

SwanUpmanship · 19/09/2026 09:30

Oh, sorry, yes Quires did say she was a Suzie. It suits her!

InQuiresandplaceswheretheysing · 19/09/2026 09:44

I don’t really like the name suzie. I wanted to call her Jezebel, but my mum has vetoed that. So thinking Clover

I am so sorry

JoanOgden · 19/09/2026 09:59

What a dear little cat! She looks like she has masses of character. I agree with your mum that calling a cat Jezebel is asking for trouble Grin

Breadcat24 · 19/09/2026 12:10

@InQuiresandplaceswheretheysing in keeping with your previous lovely Cheddar what about Wensleydale - Wendy for short!

InQuiresandplaceswheretheysing · 19/09/2026 12:20

@JoanOgdenI suspect she’s going to be trouble anyway. When she’s fully settled I suspect her character will blossom.

Brie? Edam?

Hang on, she's grey. Err ...Rosary Ash Goat's Cheese?

I suppose Rosary would be quite apposite.

Could you call her Jessie, but pronounce it 'Jezzie'?
She's a pretty girl, whatever you decide to call her will suit her I'm sure😻

As the catmum to a Clover I can vouch for the name- she was an absolute treasure and I will miss her to the end of my days.

InQuiresandplaceswheretheysing · 19/09/2026 13:29

@JoanOgdenshes vetoed it because Jezebel was not a nice person. 🙄 I know a priest who had a cat called Jezebel and I always thought it was hilarious.

You’re an adult presumably, you get to choose your own cats name. Do you live with your mum?

InQuiresandplaceswheretheysing · 19/09/2026 14:10

No, I don’t live with them! But I’ll have the next ten years of my friend telling me it’s stupid name.

Your friend? I thought it was your mum who didn’t like the name?

InQuiresandplaceswheretheysing · 19/09/2026 15:20

Yes but my friend is also very critical. Every time I mention Mithril’s name, he says that’s a silly name. Must admit I agree on that one!
