Heartbroken to say that Penelope had another funny turn/ seizure this morning. I thought the last one was a one off as she had made a full recovery very quickly. And I’d not seen any others. I took her to
the emergency vet after and She didn’t respond to midazolam. The vet thought it was likely to be a brain tumour. So did the only thing that could be done. She went very quickly and peacefully on my knee.

For such a tiny cat, with a daft long name, she was so sassy and sweet and affectionate. Just a lovely, lovely cat. Will miss your Pen.

No! I read your initial post about her funny turn, I’m so sorry OP, it’s a hard loss to bear, she looks like such a truly fabulous cat. RIP sweet Penelope

Just wondering what she would think of her ashes going into the same (Monty Bojangles Persian) cat tin. Although to be fair neither Magic or Maia would have tried to play with her or jump on her, which is what she hated. Fortunately cheddar never did that either. The house is so quiet, and I just realised that I can shut my bedroom door. I always left it open for her.

I'm really sorry. I followed your posts about her and she obviously had a lovely life with you.

@InQuiresandplaceswheretheysing I get what you mean about closing doors that used to have to be left open, it was one of the sad realities I had to face when my Pud died. Strange how a simple action can be so saddening 💐

Came downstairs and it was so strange not doing the litter tray or feeding her. 😰

It is awful how your house feels so different when you have lost a cat

When the time is right, Penelope and Cheddar will send you a new cat to fill the cat-shaped hole, as Maia and Magic have done before.

@SwanUpmanshipi have no doubt they will. I think they may already have selected one. Although it may be a while yet before she’s ready. But we will see.
I emailed the vet asking for her notes from yesterday for my peace of mind, and had a beautiful email from the vet who looked after Penelope the most.

I’ve also just run into priest friend of mine, who said he’d say a prayer for Penelope even though cats don’t go to heaven!!!!!!!! Of course cats are in heaven. How can it be heaven with no cats there? Fortunately my cat loving priest friends disagree’

Thank you for all your lovely comments. They’ve really helped. Can’t bear how quiet the house is. Living with Cheddar made her lean to use her voice!

Absolutely, they came from St Francis rescue and the vet has a ‘St Francis’ room. Which is rather nice.
