@Allergictoironing I should be happy then. A friend's child asked why I always had unfriendly cats!
I said this one was sad and needed a home

Kirova · Yesterday 00:25

6 months in with Edith and she will lean on me and will sometimes use my legs as a pillow. She likes strokes and is ecstatic about head rubs, but she doesn't sit on laps. She also likes to wash my face and hands at 6am, which is very sweet but also wet and tickly.

FCs 3 and 4 were visited by the adopter of FC2 today, who brought them treats and a very exciting IKEA bag. Actually, the IKEA bag was in transit and went back home to FC2, who was apparently quite suspicious about the smell of Other Cats.

Micia doesn't sound unfriendly to me! More cautious and reserved. Considering she was spending her whole time in hiding a few months ago, you're doing amazingly well with her.

I do feel bad that I can't foster any more but realistically I don't have enough space. I'm just sad that I can't help more cats in the cat care system. On the other hand, I think it suits FC3 well here for some reason and she's finally been able to unwind and relax. And once she and FC4 formed their unlikely bond, they couldn't be parted.

Kitty has just started letting me pick her up & cuddle her for a couple of minutes before wanting to be put down, but that’s taken 2 years.

I've just had a temper tantrum on that thread Broon linked to above. Ignorance I can understand, bias I can understand, but when someone is being bullied by one particular poster for no apparent reason I WILL wade in.

One more nit picking comment from that one poster and I will definitely report them for bullying! Can anyone go there & do me a sanity check that I'm not imagining things?

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · Yesterday 07:57

Allergic, you're not wrong, and I've just reported that same poster for bullying.

Linney decided to point out to me that it was getting late to give him his first breakfast

Oh, and yesterday, my hairdresser came to cut my hair.
Gizmo decided to get on the chair I'd placed in the kitchen.
He asked for a short back and sides.

Boo is still much happier exploring when I'm not there or when I'm lying in bed reading. She's happy to walk past me if I'm lying nice and still but if I move she runs to her hiding place. I've tried the slow blink at her, she will blink back but not a long one, it definitely seems to be in response to mine, so who knows?

I had to sleep with earplugs in last night cause she gets very chatty when I want to sleep, bless her. I think today I'm going to leave the bedroom door open and see if she wants to come out and meet the others. Wish me luck!

Nit picking on me now lol

RumNotRun · Yesterday 14:20

Boudi says happy Friday everyone. I did leave the bedroom door open in case she wanted to come out but she seemed even more timid whenever I went up. Even hiding though, she was showing off how beautiful her markings are.

Have any of the others been in yet, @RumNotRun?

RumNotRun · Yesterday 15:28

Only Toby and that's called SE I carried him up cause usually he loves meeting new cats, but as soon as I put him down he went back downstairs. He didn't even eat her food.

O/T but I discovered a word with which I'm unfamiliar today.

Peccant.

It was in a PD James book. It's very unusual for me to have to look up the definition of a word.

I was trying to be clever and seeing if I could get the Latin derivation, but I failed.

Is it something to do with sinning?

Is it something to do with sinning?

Yes. And if I'd thought a bit harder of the Latin Mass words

".......Agnus Dei qui tollis peccata mundi"

I'd have been on the right track.

But I didn't.

I came across Peccavi recently in a Tess Gerritsen, can’t remember which one though.

As I recall it was a confession scrawled in blood, though can’t remember if the blood belonged to the murderer or the victim. I HAVE SINNED.

Sorry that should have said "only cause" My typing has been terrible today!

RumNotRun · Yesterday 19:21

The Sarah Rayne gothic mysteries are fantastic for learning new words. I'm devouring them at the moment. They're a bit spooky so perfect for October and have lots of lovely historic details. I think mumble-mumper has been my favourite word/term so far.

So glad wee Fergus turned out to be a cuddle monster - I’ve not been well for over a week now and he helps me chill and rest

He is the cuddliest looking cat - that little face, the velvet fur!

Nico is also very cuddly, but in more of an ecstatic, writhing, wriggling way.

Pudmyboy · Yesterday 23:10

Hope you feel better soon Jace, there's several nasty things doing the rounds right now.
Fergus is adorable, he looks made for cuddles with that cute face 😻
