Boudicca is arriving at about 11am! Photos will be taken once she allows me to.

Pudmyboy · 11/10/2026 10:28

So exciting Rum!

She's not hiding very wholeheartedly, so this bodes well! She is so elegant and unusual looking - her markings!

RumNotRun · 11/10/2026 11:32

There were cushions and soft toys on top of where she is, but I moved them cause I couldn't find her anywhere. I have put some back and just left her to settle in for a while. She's so small, apparently the vet thinks she's only 18months, far too young to have had six kittens.

SQUEEEEEEE!!!!

She is beautiful 😍

My little rescue remained the size of a 14 month kitten due to starvation when younger. Her (fiesty) personality made her seem huge though, big enough to take on the adult male foxes we had.

JoanOgden · 11/10/2026 12:06

Oh what a sweetie! Yes, she definitely needs a bit of feeding up before she's ready to take on the Roman army.

Pudmyboy · 11/10/2026 12:12

Oh what a little darling! She does look a bit nervous in the pictures, entirely understandable of course, she doesn't know yet that she has landed on her paws.
Looking forward to pictures of her ruling the roost 😻

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 11/10/2026 12:24

Miss Boudicca is gorgeous (I'd expect nothing else of course 😻)
Enclosed - NMGFC (Not my German fat cat) spotted today.

Welcome Boudicca, beautiful markings @RumNotRun

KeziaOAP · 11/10/2026 12:43

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats can anyone see a face or two on NMGFC?

Defiantly41 · 11/10/2026 12:46

Nice to see Grumpy maintaining his reputation as cat whisperer.

Kirova - Miss B’s schedule is sleep/shout for food/eat/sleep - repeat 4 times throughout the day with long periods asleep. In the evening she may go for a tiny stroll in the garden or sit in the windowsill and glare at visiting foxes for an hour or so, then make my husband move his legs so she has a particular space to sleep while he watches tv. At least 22 hours asleep I reckon, but she is over 20 now.

Also tiny and has never grown beyond large teenage kitten size , 2.5 kg at her biggest, probably because she had kittens young before we got her from a rescue. Has been below 2kg recently despite eating huge amounts, at least 3 or 4 full portions of good quality wet food plus dry as a top up, her thyroid meds had got out of kilter and now they’ve been changed she feels heavier.

and Rum, what a beautiful cat, hope she settles very soon

Breadcat24 · 11/10/2026 12:47

@RumNotRun She is lovely- and a tortie. She will soon be bossing everyone

Yes - both Mrs G and I thought the same.

Kirova · 11/10/2026 12:57

Edith had many kittens too - the vet who did her spay reckoned she was 2 or 3 (this was at the start of the year) but apparently she had the "biggest uterus they'd ever seen in a cat".

It does not appear to have stunted her growth though.

Fatty must be a girl, since she's a Calico. She is a whopper!

Welcome Miss Boudicca! 😻
Hope your magical cat vibes entice her out soon @RumNotRun

Yes - both Mrs G and I thought the same.

I think her back looks like an Egyptian frieze of a person in profile. You can see the face, a fringe, a ponytail and her back, and it looks like she's holding something (another cat) in her arms.

No doubt psychoanalysts would say this was a sign of disturbance and delusion.

MiniPantherOwner · 11/10/2026 14:27

Boudicca is very beautiful, she has lovely markings. When is she being introduced to the rest of the tribe?

RumNotRun · 11/10/2026 14:34

I don't think I'll do any introductions until she's a lot more confident here. She has changed her hiding place a few times so at least she is exploring a little bit.

I did pick her up earlier and put her on the arm of the sofa next to me while I stroked her and spoke to her. She allowed that and relaxed a bit, but no purrs and went back into a hiding place when I moved away.

I agree!
(Not about the psychoanalysis though!)

That sounds really positive that she's let you handle and fuss her already. I'm sure she'll settle in quickly. I'm assuming she must have had an owner at some point then if she is that happy to be handled. It's really sad that so many people just dump their cats.

RumNotRun · 11/10/2026 21:25

She begrudgingly let me friend cuddle her but went back into hiding afterwards. She keeps changing her hiding place so isn't worried about walking round, just not when anyone is in the room.

He was trying to bribe her with Dreamies but she wasn't interested 😲
