......... as Gizmo and Linney almost reach their first anniversary, they reflect on the joys of living in the same hoose.

I thought I spotted him in the garden taking refuge from the Europop but he's so stealthy I can't be sure..

Do you have any trees that turn red or orange in autumn?

Maybe Kitty was smiling because we didn’t watch Eurovision.

Just wanted to join in with all the smiley cats and share a smile from my late little love

@Pudmyboy lovely picture

RumNotRun · 18/05/2025 15:32

Such a handsome boy @Pudmyboy

Vix and Lex are asleep on the lounge windowsill. She just stretched out her arm and accidentally touched Lex's paw. He was not impressed, the grumpy old sod.

Thanks for the lovely photo @Pudmyboy

He’s very handsome & was obviously very much loved.

Kitty disappeared when she realised I was going to hoover & has spent the afternoon under the duvet.

Gizmo is also afraid of the scary noisy black thing.

When I was fostering kittens, one would hide and the other would watch me, then run to tell her sister once I’d finished. Stripey and Snowcat always remind me of those two, I loved watching their relationship.

Pud looks like he was such a sweetheart ❤️

Today we've reached almost 20° which is an absolute scorcher for us. Kettle was looking very fine on top of the shed against the blazing blue sky.

Kettle’s a very fine figure of a cat.

Lex forgot to put his tongue away.

That sky looks an amazing blue @Esgaroth and sets Kettle off very nicely.
Blue and orange are complimentary colours, on the opposite side of the colour wheel I believe!

Mr Tuxedo tried to jump Snowcat in the garden twice today. The first time I just saw her come running in with him running behind. 5 minutes later she went out again and I watched. She was sitting sniffing some grass with her back to the fence. He was crouching on the top of the fence, then jumped down and ran at her all fluffed up. I ran towards him and he turned round and jumped back over the fence.

But I think he is not in love or wanting a buddy, but doesn’t want other cats on what he perceives as his turf.

When he came for his evening visit to the glass door, I opened it and chased him away, to make the point this isn’t his territory any more. I’ve instructed the children and DH to do the same. DD1 was upset at first about not being kind to him but a little later was feeling protective of her cats and muttering dire warnings about what she’d say to him if he messed with Snowcat again.

RumNotRun · 18/05/2025 22:36

I couldn't find Lex this evening. He wasn't in his two usual places. Then I went into my room and discovered that the cat bed which has been ignored for months, but I moved yesterday to sweep and mop the floor, then put back, is suddenly acceptable to His Highness.

Esgaroth · 18/05/2025 22:48

@stormsandsunshine Oh yes, definitely best to chase him off if he's going to get aggressive. Good luck, hope he gets the message! Try a water gun if he persists!

JaceLancs · 18/05/2025 23:02

Finlay came home early tonight and is in snuggle mode which is lovely as I’ve missed the Velcro nights

Gizmo had been ignoring his donut, but two nights ago decided he liked it after all.

Fred and Bert have been with us one week today, and Tim two weeks tomorrow.
After hissing and spitting at Tim for at least 48 hours ( felt like weeks ! )
they are bonding :)

Fred and Tim spent this evening together on the cat tree, Bert is still settling in
but as photo shows - all 3 on cat tree.

dogs still on leads wrapped around my ankles :( tho actually the Pug is not interested / bothered and the very elderly Bichon has not realised our ' family ' has expanded.

dd is very happy to report that all 3 have settled to sleep on her bed, she would be very happy to find them still there in the morning.
(great progress since last Sunday night when all 3 of them slept under her bed.)

Fabulous progress, @OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevon!

Has Kettle’s enemy been back, @Esgaroth?

RumNotRun · 19/05/2025 07:09

@OlderGlaswegianLivingInDevongreat news. The black cat (sorry, I can't remember which is which) looks like he can't decide if he wants to snuggle with the other two or not, bless him.

Esgaroth · 19/05/2025 08:52

@EmpressaurusKitty No, we haven't seen him for a long time. He returned twice (to my knowledge) after the incident and both times we ran at him, made some loud noises and shot at him with a water gun. I was sorry to do it, but happy that Kettle can enjoy his own garden in peace now.
