......... as Gizmo and Linney almost reach their first anniversary, they reflect on the joys of living in the same hoose.

Oh George and Oliver are adorable! George has magnificent fur. Welcome from my 6 3/4 demons and me 😁

Is Lexter trying out a new look, @RumNotRun?

Breadcat24 · 23/06/2025 22:06

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats loving the glower from Lenny

He's going for a big eyed lemur look at the moment. He also has decided he doesn't like having his photo taken. He'll look at my phone and seem like he's posing but as I take the photo he moves. It took me about 23 attempts to get that picture of the little gremlin.

I've just been reading the private school thread. My dad must be so disappointed in my sister and me. I have always worked in admin based jobs, and my sister has predominantly worked for charities. Clearly, according to one person on the thread, these are not acceptable jobs for privately educated people and we should be shunned by our former class mates 🙄 I went to private not public school though so perhaps we're less snobby than Eton people, or maybe that poster is nuts!

Herbie says hi to George and Oliver!

Off to find the private school thread as it sounds intriguing!

The litter tray is a much friendlier place - but as you wish 🤣

Damn you two - I've been sucked in to that thread now!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 24/06/2025 10:54

It's a world of frothing loons I'm afraid - no point engaging (I really should stop but am struggling to walk way)
Apologies @Allergictoironing (and well said 😁)

I don't think Araminta appreciates our views, or my outstanding intelligence.

Yes, thank you for getting sucked in, Allergic.

I agree that we ought to step away from the thread now, but it's maddening stuff.

Linney and Gizmo have read it and they agree, BTW.

We have an ill girl in bed with a fever this morning. Kettle is looking after her ❤️

(Or enjoying the heat of her feverish body? 🤔)

MN doesn't seem to like that photo but it's just a cat on a duvet with one arm visible I swear! Maybe it'll show up later.

Allergictoironing · 24/06/2025 11:58

All pictures are still being checked out before being shown, ever since that incident a few months back.

Esgaroth · 24/06/2025 12:06

Yes, they usually show up instantly with one refresh for me, though (I only post pics of cats 😄). NM, it's worked now.

stormsandsunshine · 24/06/2025 12:27

I briefly popped over to look at that thread and then decided life was too short.

This is the only thread on MN now that I am relatively confident is full of actual people as opposed to fictional loons and AI generated “controversies to think about”

You're not wrong @stormsandsunshine and I've just hidden it.

Agreed. The Litter Tray is the best board. I similarly thought that the Mounjaro 10st or more to lose thread was also populated by genuine people, until yesterday, when someone called me a "vile woman".

Moi, vile? And before you all run over to look, the post was deleted.

I'm actually quite enjoying picking up on their mis-interpretations of things some people have posted.

I think my favorite to date is where someone posted about "racial bias does not affect your children", promptly picked up by someone of a different race who pointed out that this implied all MN posters were white. Then that response was completely misinterpreted.

Allergictoironing · 24/06/2025 13:28

On a completely different, and much more important subject, Tobias has been a VERY noise cat today.

He stood by the window yelling & yelling, I thought it was because I hadn't opened it to let the breeze in so did so, but he carried on yelling and for the first time ever tried to see if the Flat Cats screen would come off. He was at it for ages, had to have a strict word about trying to pick at the screen so he stopped that but carried on yelling for a bit longer.

Me too! (The 'below average intelligence' stuff did make me snort though!)

Hope your ill little one gets better soon @Esgaroth Dr Kettle is the perfect health care companion.

RumNotRun · 24/06/2025 13:42

Toad has had his full name used today as he just did a wee on the garden waste bag which Ghostie enjoys sleeping on. He is now hovering around me, making little merp noises as if he's trying to get back in my good books. It's not working. Bad cat!

Pianoaholic · 24/06/2025 14:40

Well I am 12 pages in to 'that thread ' and have decided to have a break from it!

Maybe the Litter Tray is the best place to be (so to speak!) 😂

Pianoaholic · 24/06/2025 14:41

I may have coped with it better if it was interspersed with lovely cat photos.

That's such a good idea.
I remember another contentious thread, some time ago, that we invaded.

It really annoyed the OP.
