......... as Gizmo and Linney almost reach their first anniversary, they reflect on the joys of living in the same hoose.

Oh my! I knew they have dog blood donors, who patiently accept being drained, but have problems seeing cats patiently having their blood taken!

They had to sedate Tobias just to take a blood sample, despite him being stoned on Gabapentin at the time. Girlcat really wasn't happy at all and had to be pinned down by 2 vet nurses (not the strength, but the wriggliness). And those were just for samples.

Sybil had to be drugged up on gabapentin too just to get enough for a blood test. Wriggly little sod 🤣.

The only thing cats do patiently is wait in the designated spot to be given Dreamies.

My poor Alizè had to have blood taken a few times. He was such a good boy though, he'd just cling onto me while the vet did what they needed to. He had recurring UTIs and would usually wait till he was in the carrier to do the biggest stinkiest wee, but one day he saved it for the (very attractive) vet 😁 I felt like I was in some bad rom com where the vet then takes his top off and our eyes meet. Unfortunately I had my ex with me so no luck!

Oh Tobias was already off his head on Gabapentin just to get him to the vets - they then had to sedate him even further to get the blood test. They did have plenty of samples of blood just before that - just mainly the poor vet nurse's blood despite all the Gabapentin in his system! Apparently he tolerated being shaved, then decided despite being higher than Jim Morrison on a heavy day he'd had enough & didn't want the needle inserted.

Can George join the excellent cats. He was rehomed from poor beginnings 2 years ago. He has a heart murmer and has epilepsy seizures. He is medicated twice a day and manages to have a good life and rules over us with a iron paw. He has a semi feral friend who has lived in a insulated box outside our back door
