......... as Gizmo and Linney almost reach their first anniversary, they reflect on the joys of living in the same hoose.

I have the secure cat fencing which is the horizontal poles which can rotate freely, which have worked at keeping my cat in for the last three years. (I've got a video of him trying and failing to climb over - perhaps I should sell it to the company which supplied the fencing.) We got this when he was hit by a car; he was saved when somebody found him and called the number on his collar, and his treatment was (almost all) covered by insurance. He's fine now, and perfectly agile; you wouldn't know anything had happened to him, but he was very lucky. He still manages to bring mice in, in spite of the secure garden, and not long ago, he saw off a rival cat which had climbed on to the shed roof from another garden.

@coastergirl love your Lego collection! My plants are dotted around the house
I’m a child of the 60s and had a big wooden box of Lego in primary colours - we used to build all sorts - I do vaguely remember books of suggested builds

I’m glad he’s ok now, Scalt. If he’s going to join the Excellent Cats we need to see a photo!

Happy Ascension Day! (I would not know this if it wasn't a public holiday).

Ascension Day sounds like a very suitable holiday for climbing cats!

ShoutyCatSlave · 29/05/2025 11:46

Agatha is celebrating by sitting outside and looking confused. It's cloudy, but warm. And not raining. I would have forgotten about it, had all my clients in France and Luxembourg not cancelled meetings today.

CatsonPollock · 29/05/2025 11:50

Ascension Day you say?
Beam me up, Scotty! 😸

Thank you! I remember lego just being very basic. I'm rubbish at anything creative though, I like following instructions!

Same here. I was never very good at Lego although the children had loads of it.

They also had a lot of Sticklebricks, which are incredibly painful to tread on in bare feet.

Actually, so are bits of Lego. DS1 also used to post pieces of Lego into the VCR, the villain.

🤣

I ought to be going shopping, but Kitty’s out on the balcony listening to the neighbours & I don’t want her to miss anything.

RumNotRun · 29/05/2025 22:10

Well. I know when I'm not wanted. I have come to bed to find Frankie sprawled out right in the middle of my mattress, and this little monster on my pillow.

Finlay is lounging around tonight as too wet to go hunting

I like Finlay’s bed.

Glamourpuss has visited and went in Herbie's tree.
Herbie went out to investigate and they had a staring contest, Glamourpuss yowled a bit. Other than that, all quite amicable!

That’s really tempting!

I’ve ordered some cat thyme seeds & if I can manage to grow them, Kitty’s going to have that on the balcony along with the catnip, cat grass & valerian. She’s out there sunbathing at the moment & showing off her floof. The decking feels good on bare feet when the sun’s out so I expect it feels good on fur as well.

That is a very nice tree, I can quite see why Herbie feels protective of it.

RumNotRun · 30/05/2025 11:51

Do you think they make those in human sizes? Asking for a friend....

This takes me back to the 1990s when my brother, god knows why, used to take an inflatable banana to wave at football matches.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 30/05/2025 22:39

I don't know what the two 'kittens' are on tonight - clearly plotting something on the road.

In other news our old NDN (TC's previous owner) is staying with us this weekend and has met GT for the first time tonight. GT bit him 🤣🤣🤣

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats Yes, clearly some conspiracy afoot. I wonder if they were watching an insect or some other small creature.

Does GT pretend to want attention & then attack?

I would feel sorry for ex-NDN, but it does feel a little bit karmic after all those years of telling you what a soft gentle kitten TC was!
