......... as Gizmo and Linney almost reach their first anniversary, they reflect on the joys of living in the same hoose.

Kettle's enjoying his dinner alfresco today because there is a birthday party inside the house and it's a bit scary 😨

I would feel sorry for ex-NDN, but it does feel a little bit karmic after all those years of telling you what a soft gentle kitten TC was!

Actually, he's really mellowed over the year we've had him.
He lets us stroke him and is making fewer attempts to bite us.

He is very good-natured, most of the time.

His temper really only comes out when he encounters Picard.
🤣

Or Grumpy ? 😂

EmpressaurusKitty · 31/05/2025 20:58

It even sounds as if Gizmo & Picard manage a kind of armed neutrality at times? I wonder if he’d remember Grumpy if he met him again?

I’m being watched.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne Are you sure he's not terrorising one of your neighbours in his spare time?

RumNotRun · 31/05/2025 21:44

Frank has started sleeping spread out along a stair. Not the same stair each time, but a different one so I can't get used to stepping over the 3rd step or whatever. I think he might be trying to kill me.

Does he merge in with the stair carpet?

(probably easier for a cat who isn’t bright orange)

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 31/05/2025 21:58

Sybil is merging with the paving outside the front floor.
I expect she's trying to trip us up 😁

Snowcat is an absolute master of disguise. No one could ever guess she was behind that sprig.

I have bare floorboards painted black which is probably a daft thing to do with three black cats in the house!

stormsandsunshine · 31/05/2025 22:36

Here too she cunningly chooses a hiding spot that provides the perfect cover for her attacks on the unsuspecting flies

Have you ever read the Winnie the Witch book where she keeps sitting on/falling over her black cat in the black house?

Now that's how it's done. Brava, Sybil.

Just wait until winter, she'll be in her element.

Nobody has lodged a complaint.
Yet.

Glamourpuss has visited again. I think she's female as she has a pink collar!
Herbie just gazes at her in wonder- she's a very pretty cat.

Snowcat (and slab) looks like she is suspended in midair. I tip my hat off to her! She truly is magical.

Sybil is blending in beautifully. Brava! 👏

@EmpressaurusKitty we have only seen him once.

Stripey has given up on the garden for now, however, except when the door is safely closed when she likes looking at it from her cat tree. She is spending a lot of time hanging out on DD’s high bed.

Boris and Matilda had to go to the vets for their yearly MOT and vaccines this week. Matilda has now managed to get her notes upgraded from 'Quite feisty' to 'Needs burrito-ing'. She had to have a towel thrown over her and a nurse summoned with the gauntlets. She's showing no shame and I think she feels that she has advanced a level in catting skill.

Boris on the other hand has charmed yet another vet. I suspect his notes are just a load of heart emojis and 'I love Boris'.

I think Sybil wins the award for best attempt at camouflage. I think black cats generally have an advantage, so impressive attempt on her part. Matilda doesn't stand a chance with her combination of white, ginger and black, maybe if I bought an eighties style carpet.

EmpressaurusKitty · 01/06/2025 19:39

Kitty might be able to camouflage herself on the decking if she could line up her stripes properly.

Kettle is somewhat camouflaged on a particular set of paisley duvet covers we have. I may have to keep an eye out for something just a little more orange, but this is the best he can currently manage.
