......... as Gizmo and Linney almost reach their first anniversary, they reflect on the joys of living in the same hoose.

Right, he returned home fifteen minutes after I posted that he was on the missing list.
🤣
I've only just had a chance to update the thread.

😂 ooh! Support for my theory!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/05/2025 02:00

And Karl's location was confirmed within an hour and a quarter of posting too.

Breadcat24 · 20/05/2025 15:43

@Grumpyoldpersonwithcats My goodness- come back to this thread and hear that about Karl. He looks unscathed though. Was he held hostage by GT? Is the garage door on a mechanism that could be operated by a paw?

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 20/05/2025 16:54

I suspect Karl getting stuck was entirely his fault. Although a mugging by GT and disposal of the evidence makes a much better story 😁

EmpressaurusKitty · 20/05/2025 17:12

What if there was an Evil Cats network fighting the Excellent Cats…. 🙀

EmpressaurusKitty · 20/05/2025 19:44

GT, Mr Tux, the Pale One who attacked Kettle…

Pianoaholic · 20/05/2025 20:33

Timmy....Herbie's old enemy! But he's gone now. So no longer around being Evil.

I am persevering with the teeth brushing. I mean, the toothpaste went near his mouth, and he used his teeth to bite at the brush viciously! Not sure how effective it is!

Kitty posing proudly next to the Cats and Dragons calendar. She is, obviously, Miss May.

Edited to add on mobiles, that this only makes sense if you tap on the photo to see the whole thing.

I realised earlier that Frank was lying right on the edge of the bed so I moved his blanket so it was a bit further away from the edge. As he is a cat, he of course got stroppy and claimed my pillow as his own instead.

Later on I refused to give him some jerk chicken so goodness knows what punishment he'll dream up for me.

Do you have a lock on the fridge?

Edited

It only occurred to me once it was too late to edit - she arrived as a foster cat last May so of course that’s going to be her month. I had no idea she was staying but maybe she did.

Breadcat24 · 21/05/2025 21:10

Breadcat has caught a mouse and brought it in, I have got the cat away from the mouse and locked her away but the mouse has now vanished, Bugger.

Herbie caught and ate a large moth yesterday evening.
Today he saw a squirrel but luckily it was too quick for him.

Breadcat24 · 21/05/2025 21:19

well this mouse is very mobile wish the little beggar would let me catch it to save it. Really hoping it is in the dining room I have shut the door after taking the cat out but may not have been fast enough

Breadcat24 · 21/05/2025 21:23

I am pissed off because cat has caught a mouse
cat is pissed off because mouse taken away
mouse is pissed off for obvious reasons

not going to be a quiet night

Fluffycat2906 · 21/05/2025 21:34

I am fairly sure I removed the same mouse from our furry hord at least three times at the weekend, after banishing all felines to the house for an afternoon nap and putting a plant pot over mouse the mouse then disappeared no idea where but by the time they came back out from their naps the cats had all forgotten about it, thank goodness.

Pianoaholic · 21/05/2025 21:38

I remember my old (lovely) cat, Gabby bringing in a huge moth one night and she chased it all round the house. We took pity on it and managed to release it outside.
The following night she brought the same moth in, now looking very bedraggled! This time it was beyond saving. Gabby was a very good mouser too. We also used to lose her mice around the house!

Breadcat24 · 21/05/2025 21:47

poor mouse has died
Breadcat (the bugger) is sitting in the garden looking at the shed for more mice.
It is not like she isn't fed to bursting point already

RumNotRun · 21/05/2025 21:51

@EmpressaurusKittyno, but Frank is too short to reach the fridge 😁

Esgaroth · 21/05/2025 22:26

When I was a little girl, Mac once brought a mouse inside and let it go and it hid inside my doll's house where he couldn't get to it. We didn't know why he was so interested in the doll's house at first 😆

Having had a mouse infestation once in our old flat, I wouldn't mind a mouser. Anything to discourage the furry little bastards from moving in. But cats releasing live mice inside is just silly behaviour!

Esgaroth · 21/05/2025 22:32

Another time one of Mac's mice took refuge inside a bean bag. I can still remember my mother swearing as she emptied all the 'beans' out into a bucket in the garden to get the damn thing out.

I'm now imagining Beatrix Potter's The Tale of Two Bad Mice - who lived in a dolls house! 😄

Well that's cats all over. You can feed them every hour, on the hour, all day long, and they'd still manage to stuff themselves.

Perhaps not a popular opinion, but I would rather it was mice than birds.....
