Biscuit, enjoying Radio 3 during his morning nap. Which comes before his lunchtime nap, his afternoon nap, his evening nap, etc.

Breadcat seems a bit sad at the moment. I do not know if it is the effect of me going back to work, or if she is wanting something else. She is going to my husband for strokes which she did not use to do.
She is still eating well but has gone off Sheba for a couple of days. She is shedding her winter coat so I have been giving her hairball treats.
She is also yowling in the middle of the night until I call her or go and find her. I hope she is not starting with feline dementia. We only just celebrated how well she was on her 16th birthday.
I am fussing her and feeding her chicken, lick-e-licks and tuna. She is purring when stroked and still jumps easily. Any suggestions please to cheer her up?

It may be that we have probably got the fox coming back into the garden at night (and an evil tuxedo cat!)

Agatha's head was too hot, so she bravely managed to move, so just her tum is super-heated.

Hope Breadcat finds her spark again, soon.

Nice little heart warming story on my local radio this morning as I was driving in to work.

They were interviewing the founder of one of the Kent cat rescues (Wisteria if anyone is interested). He said a family called him recently, the grandfather had just died and they were unable to take in the cat he had had since he found it starving & crying and took it in.

Rescue guy checked for a chip, found one & searched the database. To his surprise not only was the cat on there, but had been reported missing and the former owner had kept their details up to date. He called her, and after a bit of hesitation on her part (due to a scam someone tried to pull about this missing cat previously) she came to see it.

Instant recognition, with the cat almost leaping into the original owners arms & snuggling in.

Nice enough story, but now consider the cat had gone missing TEN YEARS ago!

EmpressaurusKitty · 20/03/2025 18:19

Kitty sends a blink to Breadcat & hopes she feels better soon.

So far in Italian, she knows ‘Andiamo a letto’ (Let’s go to bed), ‘Hai fame?’ (Are you hungry?), ‘Ti va di giocare?’ (Do you want to play?) and the words for all the meals. Also that she’s a bellissima gatta (very beautiful cat). Not at all musical though.

EmpressaurusKitty · 20/03/2025 10:31

How’s Kettle’s paw, @Esgaroth?

I can't really tell 😕

When we've changed the bandage I really can't see if it's healing nicely or not. It's quite a small area and I haven't dared to scrub the post surgical gunk off because I don't want to make anything worse.

He's not limping at all so I'm hopeful but I don't think I'll have much idea until Monday when he goes back to the vet. 🤞

As she said, it's a tricky spot to heal because they stand on it.

Poor old Breadcat. I'm sorry to hear she's out of sorts. Best wishes from me and Kettle ❤️

EmpressaurusKitty · 20/03/2025 20:47

I hope Breadcat & Kettle both feel well enough for Kitty’s party. They can always go & curl up under the duvet if they feel they need a rest.

Heavens!
What have you done with the real Finlay?

OP posts:
TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 20/03/2025 21:37

I'm sorry to hear about Breadcat.
I find Linney sometimes goes through little phases of preferring DH. He also goes through phases of not liking certain foods (I'm quite sure that all cats do this).

Maybe Breadcat has a virus or something and just isn't feeling herself?

OP posts:
TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 20/03/2025 21:43

Well, now Linney has decided he's going to sit on my seat.

Honestly. Are either of my cats going to allow me to have a seat on my own sofa?

Haha @TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne
I have been ill in bed with chest infection since Monday - occasionally venturing downstairs to see Finlay when tracker shows he has come home!
Today he went out at 5.30am and only came home at 9.30 tonight
Real Finlay washing off the dirt from his travels and finally crashing out

Is he still top of the cat tracker leaderboard?

OP posts:
JaceLancs · 21/03/2025 00:36

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne
No he’s currently number 5!
However he was without it for a few days as lost it, and then again when the battery ran out on one of his longer jaunts
The leaderboard resets on 1st of a calendar month - so he might make the top spot by end of month

EmpressaurusKitty · 21/03/2025 08:55

There’s stuff drying on the balcony this morning, & Kitty is pondering whether to be brave & confront it.

Are people allowed to place bets on their favourites?

I spy a little side-hustle here.

We’d need to know the odds.

Kitty is practising poses for having her portrait painted.

But couldn't you cheat the system by just taking your cat out for a drive?
Not only would your cat do the highest mileage but they'd be quickest too 😁.

I'm shocked that a fine, upstanding churchgoer like yourself would suggest such a thing.

I was merely imagining a risk assessment scenario from the bookie's perspective. 🤣

I almost admire Sebastian’s determination. Cat One would definitely do the same thing.
Gizmo is such a strikingly beautiful cat; it kind of makes you forgive him for being so obstreperous. Kind of. Well, no, not really. He is beautiful though.
Cat Four has obligingly given me another couple of great shots of her tail.
Definitely will be one of the prettiest and fluffiest cats in the world.

is already one of the prettiest and fluffiest!😻
