I am preparing hopefully for the arrival in just over 2 weeks time of one who could / would look like a kitten he could produce

hopefully because we don't have him yet.
Preparing as I have bought more litter trays, beds and cat scratching posts - including a pink one for adult dd's bedroom as he ( they ! he has a black brother ) will start off sleeping in her room at night.

I am a sucker for having brothers, we got 2 ginger and white brothers 5 years ago, and sadly one was pts 4 weeks ago.

Cat tax will be paid with considerable assistance from dd, as I have no way of taking photos.

Yes a Finlay lookalike i.e. a pure grey cat - well that's what the photos look like.

' Alfred ' aka Freddy aka Fred will be very much loved even if he is not pure grey.

His brother ' Albert ' aka Bertie ' aka ' Bert ' will also be very much loved.

We have a tendency for male human names for our pets.

Little story - many years ago my dd returned from the local shops, gone for sweets or something from the Co-Op,
excitedly tells me there is a grey kitten for sale in the pet shop and she is a female.
That shows you how many years ago this was as Pet shops no longer sell kittens.
So off I go back up with her to see ' grey ' female.
With the promise that she would help pay for the vaccinations / neutering, we returned home with...

a grey tabby boy !
Bobby was her kitten then her cat until sadly he died 4 years ago.

DD has wanted a pure grey cat for years.

My first cat was a solid grey stray, built like a brick shithouse 😹, who just muscled his way into my flat, just off Hyndland Road, and adopted me. Since then I've had 2 other pure grey mogs and a grey tabby. Always like to have one grey around.
Grey cats are clearly best (said quietly to avoid offending my three black boys)

@stormsandsunshine If you have any offcuts or buy a bit of new matching carpet you can measure a step or a couple of steps then have the edges whipped, then swap out that step when this sort of thing happens.
We also swap out the last step on the main stairs (apologies- needs a vac)

Little furry feckers have done this over the last 20 plus years.
Alas to match this we have to replace the carpets throughout the whole downstairs and upstairs hallway, and then redecorate as well, so inertia rules 😁.

I have three cats keeping me company in my home office today.
None of them are very active...

I'm now wondering what would be on a PIP for a cat.

• Cut down on Dreamie breaks
• Less sleeping on the job.
• Ensure that rodents are killed BEFORE entering the house
• Identified training - a basic keyboard hygiene course (Looking at you Linny)
• identified trainiing for Lenny - Improving colleague relationships course.

Any other thoughts?

• Personal hygiene should be handled outside the office.

Chairs should not be occupied by anyone other than the chair owner and should also not be used to sharpen your claws (Toad and Frederick!)

Stealing another cat's bowl of food will lead to disciplinary action.

I’d say that depends on the call, really. I’ve been on some that would be much improved by a cat’s bum.
