Eating alfresco tonight.
Spotted GT behaving remarkably like Gizmo.
Started on our patio and then moved to the roof of Gizmo's old shed. Our boys are observing.

GT has now been replaced by Lenny on Gizmo's shed roof.

Evening all. Just checking in. We went to the cat café in Liverpool yesterday for my birthday. They've retired a few cats and got some new exotic babies who love to play. Here is Minnie playing with my 5yo's disgusting teddy.

Hi Coaster! How lovely to go to a cats' cafe.

Talking of which, Pa Broon has just taken a bowl of food out to Suzy, who has been sitting outside the window looking hopeful.

Kettle is having a lovely dream about eating, thereby combining his two favourite things.

We have men in the house today laying a carpet. It is very upsetting for some members of the household - it's not noisy work but it does stink of glue and he doesn't even know these people walking in and out of his house. It's quite ruined his morning nap and as you can see he's now exhausted.

EmpressaurusKitty · 28/04/2025 13:59

Oh, poor Kettle. Would he like to join Kitty in her crack den until they’ve finished? Sun, fresh air & fresh catnip.

Esgaroth · 28/04/2025 14:49

It does sound like a lovely crack den, much nicer than these seedy run-down establishments you hear about.

To be honest, he could quite easily go and sit in his own garden. It's a fairly mild spring day, nice weather. Perhaps even warm enough for a nap on the deck. Instead he is choosing to walk around downstairs saying mraow to make sure we all know he wasn't consulted.

stormsandsunshine · 28/04/2025 14:50

@Esgaroth I hope he doesn’t take his displeasure out on the new carpet once it’s laid!

Haha so do I! Must admit it is a worry as we are finally carpeting the stairs (they've been bare concrete for a year since we moved in) and I think he might well like to scratch them. But we couldn't have them bare forever and I didn't want children clumping up and down hard floor stairs so 🤞

Breadcat24 · 28/04/2025 16:17

@Esgaroth Ooo cats love a fitted stair carpet- especially the bottom bit. We had a couple of extra meters measured and bound so that we could replace them as a when they looked mauled

Breadcat24 · 28/04/2025 16:18

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne Pa Broon is a pushover

Esgaroth · 28/04/2025 16:27

@Breadcat24 That's very wise! At the moment he's not even sure whether it's safe to step on but I expect he'll get over that pretty quickly 😆

Pianoaholic · 28/04/2025 17:37

Herbie has had a lovely time in the garden today. He's been pouncing on lots of buzzing insects and has eaten a few! Don't think he got stung!
Whatever they were, they made a tasty snack!
Nice to see Kettle again @Esgaroth .

DS1 (who lives in London) sent me this picture of his NMC.

Name and sex not known.

@Breadcat24 that’s genius. Can you do that retrospectively if the carpet is still available. The bottom step of our carpet is not looking nice.

Tobias prefers the front of the top step. He lies right at the top of the stairs in the upstairs hall then sort of leans over the edge to scratch the vertical face.

Of course few stairs have escaped unscathed, but that's his all time favourite. I think he worked out there's a warm pipe running by that edge when the heating is on....

This is the face of a totally unrepentant Frankenstein who just stole a chicken thigh fillet (with Cajun seasoning) from my plate and ate it. He also has cauliflower cheese sauce on his nose.

The most important thing is, was it prepared to his satisfaction @RumNotRun ?

Judging by the speed that he ate it, I think it was to his liking.

And now..."What's for dessert?" 😹

@Pianoaholic @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats @Breadcat24
you are all so lovely about Finlay - apart from a small lump caused by bone callus you would never know he had been in such a bad accident
Last few days he has been at home a bit more so been catching up on the cuddles - he has also been helping with Lego
Someone asked me on Instagram the other day what colour his eyes are as he’s always crashed out when I get a picture of him! They are a lovely orangey amber and he does love a long stretch and an invitation to rub his tummy!
