Frankie has been letting me take photos of him today. He's so handsome with his curly chest fur.

Stripey being a cuddlebug.
Snowcat was briefly on my chest earlier but decided lying on the bed next to my leg was more comfortable.

I’m on the way home, having spent most of the afternoon under a friend’s lapcat.

I may have some explaining to do.

Esgaroth · 26/04/2025 18:30

Kettle and I are having a cuddle and a catch up.

@Pianoaholic We have a visiting neighbours cat that looks like that and we also call it Glamourpuss!
How weird if we are nearly nextdoor!

That would be funny!

Maybe Linney has mastered the art of cloning!

We have lots of cats around here which is great, it's safe as we're not by a main road.

I have taken a photo of the Linney lookalike who Herbie was just outside with. We call the cat Glamourpuss but don't know its real name!

That looks like my friend's cat 😺 I also refer to my friend as Glamourpuss so it would be too much of a coincidence if it was the same cat/friend 😂

3 months to plan their 1st birthday party, @stormsandsunshine?

Breadcat24 · 26/04/2025 21:09

@stormsandsunshine They are such lovely cats, it is great for us to get to see them develop from shy kitties to trying out grass thanks

They look like baby Linney and baby Gizmo.

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne Stripey’s markings are strikingly like Gizmo’s. She has the same “spots on the side and stripes down the back and legs” aesthetic going on. Though she also has a perpetually nervous expression which is not very Gizmo.

I've never seen Gizmo looking nervous.

Snowcat has decided in the last week that bath duty is an important part of her routine. She becomes incredibly affectionate when I am about to have a bath and stands guard on the mat. If I don’t pay her enough attention while I’m in the bath then she pops up to check I’m still alive.

Maybe cats get a bit worried about us when we deliberately sit in deep puddles or cubicles full of indoor rain. Water is horrible and we should really know better.

I'm glad you have a cat to keep you safe!

stormsandsunshine · 26/04/2025 23:01

@Esgaroth I think you are right. It must be very strange and intriguing to them. And I guess bathrooms also have lots of shiny surfaces and reflections and interesting noises and so are a bit hypnotic to cats (and are also our weird and watery version of litter trays, maybe also why they like to follow us to the toilet!)

Gizmo is fascinated by the bathroom

I saw this online and thought of @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats

One of my previous cats would keep me company when I was in the bath. Once though I was reading my kindle and something was reflecting on the bathroom tiles. Hennessy (big floofy black and white girl) jumped to catch the shiny reflection, and ended up in the bath. My legs were clawed to pieces but she got out and ran off. I did try to towel dry her (after I finished laughing at her furious face and how tiny she was under all her fluffiness)

@RumNotRun we had a cat when I was a child who used to walk round and round the edge of the bath whenever anyone was in it. Inevitably one day he lost his balance and fell in.

He was a very dignified and fluffy cat who stood there for a second trying to look like he meant for that to happen before pretty much levitating vertically out of the bath and running away.

And he was absolutely tiny under his fur

Linney hisses at him in disapproval.

It was a surprise to see that she wasn't as chunky as I thought (sadly this doesn't work for people. I am still chunky even when I get soaked 😁) She wasn't even a long haired cat, just fluffy.

That was very thoughtful of you Broon to provide him with a Linney sized heat pad that stays warm as long as it's plugged in. 😀
