As we approach the festive season, they're already finessing their plans and recalling last year's successes............

Fantastic title @TheShellBeach!

I’ve just got back from visiting a local friend with 5 cats.

On returning I had to be inspected very closely & then rubbed thoroughly to correct my scent.

Look at that tail ❤️

The Ghost of Gizmo Past.
Have to wait for Christmas Eve in our house to get new Christmas pics. Bah humbug.

Thanks for the new thread, Shell.
DD is only 20 and looked very young and scared when she set off on her own to get to hospital in a taxi last night. The father had said he would take her but didn’t and has so far not been to visit. I took the little one, who is 19 months, to meet her in the hospital cafe earlier. So far progress is very slow.
I’m going to take DGD to my house tomorrow and spend some time with the cats as Matt didn’t appear to have used the litter tray much. I’m keen to avoid him getting stressed though and it’s a tough call as to whether me vanishing other than to pop in to put down food twice a day is more stressful than staying a few hours with a lively toddler.

Papergirl1968 · 29/11/2024 21:52

That is a very impressive tail!

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 29/11/2024 22:05

Linney does have a magnificent tail 😺

Hope all goes well for all concerned, feline and human🤞🤞

How did you get TC in that red coat @Grumpyoldpersonwithcats ? He looks like damage will be done once he has got out of it, a proper dead-eye going on!

Pudmyboy · 29/11/2024 22:42

Another fan of Linney's tail here, and his general fluffyness (bet 'fluffy' is not how he would describe himself, White Coated Warrior maybe?)

It wasn't me who put him in that outfit. Photo taken by TC's dad.

@Papergirl1968 good luck to daughter and matt

Breadcat24 · 29/11/2024 22:57

I ended up using bit of old crystal chandeliers as my tree decorations because they are solid. if the cat knocks them off it does not matter

HouseofHolbein · 29/11/2024 23:29

Gomez in the tree last year as taken by the boychild 💕

I expect TC's Dad put it on him.

I confess that Mr SB was amazed to see pictures of The Broon One wearing garments. He looks very sheepish.

The cat, I mean. Not my esteemed husband.

I like the way all the trees in the pictures have been decorated to work as the right backdrop to the cat involved - pure white against the dark blue, traditional red, gold and green is a good backdrop to black, and natural looking for a classically (camouflage) coloured tabby.

In Tobias news, some of his blood test results are back. No diabetes, kidneys & liver fine. B12 rather low, as are the red blood cell and platelet counts. Also high cholesterol, he IS a bit of a fatty, so no surprise there! Still waiting on digestion markers especially pancreatic enzymes, and in the light of the other mostly decent results we've added FIV & FELV tests to the samples already at the labs.

Vet has suggested I buy Cobalaplex Vitamin B12 supplement, as B12 shortage leads to the runs which leads to reduced B12 - a vicious circle! That's on order from one of the on line vet pharmacies now.

What I have noticed since his visit on Tuesday is another small step forward in his behaviour. He now requests a stroke in the morning before I've even taken up the supper bowls let alone fed them, and this morning he even pushed Girlcat aside to get the first stroke in when I came down. He's still having the odd panic & hiding for no apparent reason, but there's definite progress!

Papergirl1968 · 30/11/2024 08:15

Tobias has come so far, Allergic. You’ve been so patient with him and not rushed him.
Here’s a throwback to last year with Matt posing in front of my gold twig tree. Gold suits a broon one pretty well, I think?
I do hope new baby makes an appearance today. I’m missing my fur babies.

I can assure you that carefully curating our tree to make the perfect backdrop for Basil is of course entirely deliberate 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Or possibly we just use the same baubles and tinsel we've had for the last 30 odd years

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 30/11/2024 08:29

Always very pleased to get Tobias progress updates. Clearly doing a great job @Allergictoironing.

Thanks for the new thread Shell.
Lovely to hear encouraging news about the excellent cats who have been under the vet weather recently. Fingers crossed that it's a clean bill of health all round soon.

My cats in a tree are 2 decorations bought about 10 years ago. 🐈‍⬛
