I may as well add myself to the "injuries & illnesses" list.
Got my MRI scan results during the week. "L4/5 canal stenosis with early cauda equina compression", long letter after that and a 30 min chat with the senior physio guy.
In summary pressure on the nerve roots near the bottom of my spine, urgent neuro referral for consideration of spinal surgery in the near future, and a list of symptoms or deterioration a mile long which mean A&E immediately. Minimal walking about, avoid sitting still for any length of time and minimal lifting until the Neuro guys have assessed the scan in detail and decided how bad it is.
They've been fabulous at work; I'm to move about as & when I want, lifting has been banned and my team mates are being VERY strict with me about moving and not walking/standing too much. They demanded a list of the "go to A&E" symptoms and will take me there if needed. Big boss has referred me to OH. I keep trying to tell them I'm not made of blown glass, but that's being ignored - I do love the team I'm in! TBH the biggest issue at work is when the traffic is really bad, as if I get stuck in it I'll seize up completely by the end of the journey, so taking full advantage of working flexi by tweaking my journey times if the traffic is bad. Don't want to WFH as a) I'll forget to get up & move about & b) I have major focus issues at home at the best of times.
Annie was round yesterday, and kindly flipped my mattress with the help of nephew No. 4 (very overdue), then brought the upstairs litter tray down & changed it for me, & carried it back upstairs. I fed them doughnuts in thanks.
